GDM Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Abbey started Awesome as Fuck. Beth initiated the plan. And of course, the tradition started in France! A short history of the short history of Awesome as Fuck signs at Green Day concerts
jon18 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 The title would be a tribute to the fans but at the same time it would be vulgar and they deserve better for the 21st century breakdown tour.
pasalaska Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 the title would be a truthful description of their live show. in a way it feels like we're the only ones who will ever know what its like to see it live... y'know... except for the people who saw it 20 years ago. you crying... me crying from laughter.. and the other 7998 people in the venue... I did not cry! I stared in awe and then I tried to supress my laughter out of respect for Beej. I mean, it'd just be rude to request a song and then laugh all the way through
jon18 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 They played Wembley and several stadium shows int the world and they will release a dvd similar to the MTV world stage thing. It's very disappointing.

It's very disappointing. nothing's been confirmed just yet. and it's not always the stadium shows that are the best shows

I think that's the best damned title of a Live fucking album ever. I told Abbey months ago that Green Day would be idiots not to name it that. It may change, but they would be idiots to change it. Greatest. Title. Ever.

jon18 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 nothing's been confirmed just yet. and it's not always the stadium shows that are the best shows You're right but stadium shows are more spectacular for a dvd with pyro and effects. Nevertheless, japanese crowds are among the best in the world.
GDM Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Walmart wouldn't stock it, that's for sure! Ha... well placed sticker? lol. Do titles change once Amazon announces them, though? I wonder...
greendaytone Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Ha... well placed sticker? lol. Do titles change once Amazon announces them, though? I wonder... I don't know. I really can't see this being the name though, unfortunately!
Bastard of 1967 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I don't know. I really can't see this being the name though, unfortunately! If you think the band gives a shit what kind of controversy they do or don't attract with the title, you're kidding yourself. I really can't see Amazon as having posted that unless the discs have already been sent for pressing.
GDM Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I don't know. I really can't see this being the name though, unfortunately! Ha, that would be sad. I can totally see it being the name. If you think the band gives a shit what kind of controversy they do or don't attract with the title, you're kidding yourself. I really can't see Amazon as having posted that unless the discs have already been sent for pressing. Yea, and it doesn't say anything about a "working title." though things can change....

Nevertheless, japanese crowds are among the best in the world. Indeed -- I saw a Weezer show that was recorded in Japan on Palladia HD a few months ago, the crowd was really into it -- moreso than I think I'd have been if I'd seen the same show states-side.

Yea, and it doesn't say anything about a "working title." though things can change.... Really? Trying to think if anything like that has been sold with the word 'fuck' in the title. Never MInd The Bollocks is the closest thing I can think of.
GDM Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Really? Trying to think if anything like that has been sold with the word 'fuck' in the title. Never MInd The Bollocks is the closest thing I can think of. Cee-Lo Green's song, "Fuck You."
Bastard of 1967 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Really? Trying to think if anything like that has been sold with the word 'fuck' in the title. Never MInd The Bollocks is the closest thing I can think of. Welcome to punk rock, dude.

I really can't see Amazon as having posted that unless the discs have already been sent for pressing. I don't think the band will give a shit necessarily, more so the people selling it.
GuitarPunk94 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 this thing about the titel ("awesome as fuck") and that the dvd will just show japanese show/s are just rumors...i wait for an official announcement ^^
GDM Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 this thing about the titel ("awesome as fuck") and that the dvd will just show japanese show/s are just rumors...i wait for an official announcement ^^ I think we've already acknowledged that things are subject to change, innuendo and rumor.
Anja Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 That'd be hilarious if they named the album like that And indeed a great hommage to the fans. And well, aswesome as fuck. I can actually see it happen. GD wouldn't be GD if they cared about what others think about it. Or whether Wal-Mart would stock it or not.
Tripe Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Tony, I can see your point of view about the title possibly eliminating the CD/DVD from being sold in a few places. I'd like to see the name stay, but I can see it changing to something less "in your face."
greendaytone Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Cee-Lo Green's song, "Fuck You." I haven't seen that, was it a single?
GDM Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I haven't seen that, was it a single? It was. They did some creative editing on the national release. Instead of those "blips" Cee-Lo himself used bells, whistles, stuff like that. It's on the Intertubes somewhere, but really, the uncensored version is the bomb.
