idc Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 THIS. I can't not hear it...or sing it. haha the same with for example "brothers and sisters!" during Holiday or all the "put your hands up" during JoS, which billie sings always between the same lines. it's really weird when listening to the studio versions^^
Nickofsuburbia Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 i love the acousticness in the background also it completes the music
xabulous Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I agree with you! It's my complaint about the dvd too! Yep I agree also (although i am probably bias as i edited the wembley and london O2 2009 dvd's) . My biggest complaint is the length of the DVD. 1 hour 15 mins is poor considering your average Green Day concert is 2 and a half hours. I think it would be reasonable to expect 2 hours. I understand why they may cut Minority (even though it has the confetti shower) and King for a day due to the length live, but to cut the oncore leaving out Idiot etc is crazy. I feel a bit ripped off by the DVD (I went for the Blu ray version expecting possibly more content), the CD however is great!
greenbear Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Here's another review for you Consequence of Sound Not too bad really but I totally disagree with them about Green Day's ballads.
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 That's a tremendous review, I think I actually agree with every single bit of it, and kudos to them for mentioning the bonus tracks (although Letterbomb is the best American Idiot song full stop). I even overcame my cynicism of the first paragraph being the usual "they used to have songs about masturbation then they released American Idiot" shtick.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I like both the CD and DVD. I still like BIAB better but I think because of all the little commentary inbetween. This is still good, and I am putting it on right now. My favs are the three bonus songs tbh,.
Sanity Loan Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 That Consequence of Sound review is very VERY good. The writer did a great job
Sanity Loan Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Agreed. I disagree with some of his points, namely his suggestion that the band should've done a double-album of one show instead of a single-compilation of the whole tour, and that they should have gone with "Longview" and "Basket Case" instead of "Burnout" and "She," but it's one of the most well-thought-out reviews I've seen of AAF, and it's coming from someone who knows more about the band's history than most reviewers seem to. You're exactly right. Yeah, like you said, I don't agree with everything he says but yeah, he seems to have knowledge of the band and how they do a live show.
Nele Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I said that before how much I love Billie changing the way how he sings some lines. Like in JoS, or She. Yes! I absolutly love that live version of She. Especially the part where he just screams out the "to smash the silence with a brick of self control". And now I forgot whether he did that at our concerts as well. Btw, I also think Geek Stink Breath sounds better, I don't know, his voice sounds more melodic, I can't really explain it but I prefer it that way.

pasalaska Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 My ONE complaint about the whole album/dvd. During Mike's amazing bass solo during My Generation, the camera zooms out so far, you can barely see him! this! so much this! Whyyyy would you choose that shot? whyyyyyyyyyy
koolkev Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 this! so much this! Whyyyy would you choose that shot? whyyyyyyyyyy He already gets no popularity. WHY GIVE US THE FUCKING WORST ANGLE OF ONE OF HIS BEST VERY FEW SOLOS!!! Fuck you, Chris Dugan, Fuck you.
pasalaska Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 He already gets no popularity. WHY GIVE US THE FUCKING WORST ANGLE OF ONE OF HIS BEST VERY FEW SOLOS!!! Fuck you, Chris Dugan, Fuck you. woah, don't hate on Chris Dugan, thanks. He's a cool guy that does a LOT of awesome work for Green Day. and Mike gets plenty of popularity. one bad cut, thats all.
Overjoyed Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I pre-ordered it twice to be sure I´ll have it in my hands on the release date. It worked fine with one of them, the other one arrived today It turned out that this one was shipped from Hongkong. But the good thing is now I have one that´s called Awesome as f**k and one that´s called Awesome as ****
Hermione Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Dude, wtf? Chill. Didn't you see these posts? It's already over woah, don't hate on Chris Dugan, thanks. He's a cool guy that does a LOT of awesome work for Green Day. and Mike gets plenty of popularity. one bad cut, thats all. ^^sorry I just felt like getting mad so I did I can't believe how much I'm listening to the CD , I thought I wouldn't be interested in it any more than the BIAB CD, which I'm not very interested in at all. And usually I'll listen to live audio of a show once and that's it. They did an excellent job with this to make me addicted to listening to it.
jtdscape Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 He already gets no popularity. WHY GIVE US THE FUCKING WORST ANGLE OF ONE OF HIS BEST VERY FEW SOLOS!!! Fuck you, Chris Dugan, Fuck you. You can't blame it on Dugan. Maybe he wasnt working on the camera that was by Mike? If there is no camera directly near by at that point in time there is nothing anyone can do about it.
Hermione Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Pretty sure he was just being over the top to try to be funny.
jtdscape Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Pretty sure he was just being over the top to try to be funny. I know. I am just trying to make a point in saying that if a camera is not around in that area it is impossible to get a direct shot on a certain person.
Hermione Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I know. I am just trying to make a point in saying that if a camera is not around in that area it is impossible to get a direct shot on a certain person. Ahh just didn't see his post as worth commenting on as it wasn't serious , but you were actually giving useful info so fair enough
EvanAsFuck Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 FINALLY got the Blu-Ray version of it too... Nice little upgrade there! Also, the echo after Billie sings "It's what we waited for" in Viva La Gloria...
November's Storms Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Why have some people got the DVD and Blu-Ray of this? Is there much of a difference?
EvanAsFuck Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Why have some people got the DVD and Blu-Ray of this? Is there much of a difference? The Blu-Ray has better quality video (and mabye audio?). I have both, and it's honestly not a HUGE difference, but it is definitely noticeable at certain parts...
Sanity Loan Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Why have some people got the DVD and Blu-Ray of this? Is there much of a difference? Oh hell yes there is The Blu-ray has HD video and audio. The video resolution is 1920x1080 while the DVD is just standard resolution at about 720x405. Also, the audio on the Blu-ray is encoded at a much higher bit-rate so it's more crisp and clean. Not to mention most Blu-ray audio has 7 channels instead of 5 like DVD audio has. But AAF only has 5 on both. To sum it all up, Blu-ray discs can hold about 5 or 6 times the amount if data that a DVD can. Which allows for higher quality audio and video. I hope this answers your question
