-Billiejoezee- Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Near the beach? We're getting offtopic... but yes, near the beach. Actually, near many. anyways.... The only thing bad about the dvd is that there isn't any backstage stuff. There is, but not much. It's okay though. It's a bonus dvd, so it doesn't have to be like Bullet in a Bible.
Kayfabe Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 We're gonna play a brand new song. It ain't that brand new, this song is called Cigarettes & Valentines, let's go!
stuart telegraph Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 You know what, this is an awesome cd/dvd with great song selection, but I can't stand how the video is constantly switching views, can't there be an option in the setup where you just see the all the guys playing at once, as you would if you were really there.

I agree with you! It's my complaint about the dvd too!
M3G4N Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I'm totally late to the party, but I JUST got my copy. The album is amazing, love love love the old stuff. J.A.R. gives me fucking chills. The DVD is alright, just way too over-edited. Seriously, I thought my computer was spazzing out, but half the time it was just weirdly placed slow-mo. But all in all, fucking fantastic. Brings back concert memories for sure.
Nickofsuburbia Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Have begun to half-master the Burnout solo on drums. Quite tricky to figire out without the sheet music. i LOVE the Burnout drum solo the one im guessing ur having trouble with is the Tre Signature Roll (probably) just listen to it enough and u should be able to figure it out at least thats what i do! Older songs FTW!!

That's almost unheard of in concert DVDs. Most people want to be able to get a view of the show they couldn't get from the pit, as well as that sense of being there, which is why it's a mixture of all kinds of footage. It's cool to see the whole stage at once from the pit view, yeah, but it's also amazing to see the little expressions on each guys face, or the view into the audience from the stage.
GreenRanger Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 So I've gotten the AAF version of Know Your Enemy and the studio version on shuffle today. The studio version seems so slow...which is typical, but damn. More proof that it'll be hard to ever go back to studio versions.

Tooooooo slow.
Vespertine Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 The DVD is alright, just way too over-edited. I agree. It actually kinda annoyed me, haha.
November's Storms Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I can't listen to the studio version of American Eulogy anymore. Tooooooo slow. I was out walking today listening to my ipod. Know Your Enemy from Awesome as Fuck came on and it was fucking awesome as always, but then straight afterwards KYE (recorded version) came on. It sounded so fucking slow and boring in comparison!
rback57 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 lol, I want Billie Joe to say 'I Never made it as a working class LETS GO!' on the studio version of 21CB.
Tre_Gina Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 TO SMASH THE SILENCE WITH THE BRICK OF SELF CONTROL! I love that bit...
idc Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I said that before how much I love Billie changing the way how he sings some lines. Like in JoS, or She. And to the speed, I love it when you play along to a song on guitar, first the studio and then the live version and you're thinking to yourself "WHAT IS GOING ON?!"
bollard_11 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 And to the speed, I love it when you play along to a song on guitar, first the studio and then the live version and you're thinking to yourself "WHAT IS GOING ON?!" Agreed. Know Your Enemy and American Idiot are prime examples. Its all improvisation I find. I like it

I like it Happening to me with JoS all the time xD they didn't play it as fast in BIAB xD worst example is from the secret gig in cologne xD but it's funny in some way
Tre_Gina Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I find the studio version of holiday boring now, it is nothing without the BANG BANG and Billie screaming something at the start.
The Snark Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 lol, I want Billie Joe to say 'I Never made it as a working class LETS GO!' on the studio version of 21CB. THIS. I can't not hear it...or sing it.
radiofriendlyunitshifter Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 My ONE complaint about the whole album/dvd. During Mike's amazing bass solo during My Generation, the camera zooms out so far, you can barely see him!
minorty13 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I find the studio version of holiday boring now, it is nothing without the BANG BANG and Billie screaming something at the start. The live version of Holiday is just... sexy "TURN OUT THE LIGHTS!"
Sanity Loan Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I'm impressed with how well we can hear Jeff's acoustic during some of the songs on the DVD. In Statc Age it's pretty noticeable.... and I like it.
-Billiejoezee- Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I love listening to the audio and hearing it all and the crowd and imagining I'm there.

Same with Tré's drum solo in Burnout (I think), they didn't show him close up on the drums at all
