November's Storms Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 especially in germany I loved him all the more for that! The fans in the crowd were hearing a part of a song I'm assuming they love, and he has the balls to go all out. Changing the song or his routine would have been such a disappointment, one Billie isn't capable of! How would you know?? You're ava is a pretty accurate one of you! The point is Billie's got the balls and I praise him for it . . I loved when he did that rant during American Idiot on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour, I forget where . . (And, one a side note, how cool is the 'BANG BANG' part when they play the song live? ) Lima! Got the recording on my ipod. And yeah that part is indeed awesome! It's a lot of the reason why I don't like to listen to Holiday from BIAB anymore. I really do wonder why they didn't think of doing that on the AI tour.
bollard_11 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Hey, that stuff is supposed to be private. He doesn't seem embarrassed, but things said in that thread are supposed to stay there. That's the point of the forum. Anyway, I'm taking the day off college today so I think I'm gonna watch AAF as inspriation to do some work. I've only watched it twice I feel left out. Yes it should be kept quiet but considering the person in question is trolling every single thread he can find and making a laugh of serious issues, I cannot blame other members for being annoyed and feeling they need to lash out. But yes still uncalled for AAF has made me want to hear Letterbomb live more than ever before. The fade out in the bridge just before Billie screams is awesome!
Hermione Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Seriously, the advice forum is supposed to be kept private and your comment is totally uncalled for. It's bad enough that supposedly mature adults are ridiculing an eleven year old in that thread without bringing it into the rest of the forum. Leave him alone.
November's Storms Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Letterbomb was a bit anti-climatic for me if I'm honest, still great but I guess I had extremely high expectations. Christie Road is fucking incredible though.
bollard_11 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Would have loved a version of Static age, Nice Guys or Novacaine on the CD though. I really enjoyed those songs last summer
Bastard of 1967 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I think I'm gonna watch AAF as inspriation to do some work. AAF is inspiration for MANY things. Work, however, is most definitely not one of them.
JoeMcHugh Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 There's many funny parts like that. Poor Mikey! But he can handle it, I love the sound of his bass during the entire concert My favorites are 21st Century Breakdown - Static Age ♥ - ¡Viva la Gloria! - When I Come Around - My Generation - American Eulogy (even after Billie starts singing at the end "Nobody likes you...", I was like "WTF?") - Jesus of Suburbia - Good Riddance. And Cigs & Vals is amazing, it has parts of the concert from Argentina Thank you Green Day I thought Billie sang the Nobody Likes You part at nearly every gig when they played that song? Static age was one of my faves though, so much energy in that performance That part is absolutely epic! I forgot they did that live and it was an awesome surprise when I got AAF! It was a surprise when I saw them live, It made me jump and I felt so stupid because I was probably the only one who did
Annie, get your gun Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 I thought Billie sang the Nobody Likes You part at nearly every gig when they played that song? Static age was one of my faves though, so much energy in that performance I didn't know about that, this is the first time I hear it live
james.england121 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 dunno if anyone has notice during East Jesus Nowhere on the DVD that when the skeleton man begins to run down the walkway, then turns around, the clip changes and a kid wearing a red top is on stage and lighting is completely different, it's only for a split second but thought it was odd?
spark in the night Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I'm watching it right now One thing I can notice right off the bat the dvd is too fast BIAB was slow and you could enjoy the songs and video footage These songs and video just go by too fast. They're just flying through the setlist bummer
Punx89 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Well I had posted when I took AAF that I didn't like the solo in AI.Well as much as I am listening to it,I like it very much.I thnki now that this awesome....
GuitarPunk94 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 !!! Green Day's AAF made it to be the fifth in album charts right at the first week here in germany...yeah ;D cd favs: burnout,JAR,(paper lanterns, letterbomb) dvd favs: static age, WTP,my generation
November's Storms Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 It has slipped down into #25 in the Irish charts this week, but still, achieving a high point of #8 is pretty damn good!
rback57 Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Letterbomb was a bit anti-climatic for me if I'm honest, still great but I guess I had extremely high expectations. Christie Road is fucking incredible though. Really? I think Letterbomb is my favorite song on the whole album.
PleasedToMeetMe Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Christie Road should have been on the album and not as a bonus track . . I can see not including 2,000 Light Years Away/Paper Lanterns (even though its great) and Letterbomb but maaan . . that version of Christie Road is EPIC! and the DVD is really good . . I like the fast pace, Green Day flies threw their shit live and it shows on the DVD . . the BANG BANG and when Billie says 'cons' at the end of 21st Century Breakdown gave me goodbumps just like when I saw them in 2009 and 2010. And 21 Guns . . WOW.
Hermione Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Paper Lanterns is my favourite of the bonus songs. ADORE that song played live. Wish they still played it (and made it last at least 10 minutes while they got up to mischief) at every show like they used to so I could see it myself. Because of watching so many videos of it live with them making it last ages I think of that bassline as being, like, the theme tune of a Green Day show. It's really cool to hear an up-to-date version of such an old classic, with Billie's matured/improved voice and the extra power from the extra guitar and stuff.
Tubbie Head Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 My favourite from the bonus tracks is definitely Christie Road, but all the bonus are amazing, if they were in the album, they would have been my favourites. Letterbomb is so so great, there's a lot of energy! Not to mention Paper Lanterns/2000 Light Years Away. Its all so good to listen to. I don't know if anyone mentioned it already but AAF got into number 8 in the Portuguese top of album sales, in the 1st week ... Which is awesome for the lack of advertisement!
spark in the night Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I haven't listened to the CD yet but the DVD is.... eh. okay.
Stormy Haze Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I don't know if anyone mentioned it already but AAF got into number 8 in the Portuguese top of album sales, in the 1st week ... Which is awesome for the lack of advertisement! It did?! I had no idea!
Tubbie Head Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 It did?! I had no idea! Yeah! Keep an eye for it on "Top +" tomorrow
Stormy Haze Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Yeah! Keep an eye for it on "Top +" tomorrow I will, thanks for the heads up
November's Storms Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I don't watch TV all that often but I haven't seen any ads for AAF, and certainly not going to now. Don't think Irish TV is that liberal!
Tubbie Head Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I will, thanks for the heads up No problem!! I don't watch TV all that often but I haven't seen any ads for AAF, and certainly not going to now. Don't think Irish TV is that liberal! I think it was like that with every country, don't worry xD
