Has anyone noticed that as much as the pink bunny is the mascot of this release, he appears in neither the dvd nor the album art? Or did I miss it?

Thanks for all the replies!

Have to say that from the first time I saw it it didn't occur to me as if he was actually annoyed about it, always seemed as played-grumpy. Also how you can see a half smirk right before the bunny goes over his face.

Yeah the first time I watched it in the cinema I thought it seemed like Billie was genuinely grumpy, but then after the second and every other viewing it seems pretty clear he was just being moody for the camera, in a mock way.

I LOVED how on the DVD during "When I Come Around" Mike was singing and mouthing the words, and he just played with so much energy! It makes me smile how much he really loves what he's doing :)

I love that about Mike, he seems to enjoy being onstage the most IMO.

Yeah I was a little surprised. Rock fans who buy this album just for a good live show and aren't typically Green Day fans might not know about the pink bunny routine. Thinking that, the pink bunny on the front would seem a little stupid out of context. Although the intro to the DVD is very well done, I guess including the drunk bunny bit would mess it up.

I still can't watch the DVD and I'm like going to strike a glass with my fist if I don't get something that can play DVD's soon. But well, I'm obsessed with the CD and it's brilliant♥

"no one really seems to caaa--eh--aaaare!" <-my favorite part.

it's a really great concert dvd though i do not quite like its color editing and the texture/screen noise. it's like one shot it's clear and on natural color, then it'll suddenly turn to being edited. i guess it was just too much.

and in 21 guns, there's this background noise like whistling from the crowd that was kind of unpleasant.

__

was this tokyo gig pre-planned to be a concert dvd? or was just picked after the tour?

The one thing that I noticed when I saw AAF is that during Holiday, at the part where it says "Zig Hail to the president gasman" Billie does the Hitler salute. I never realized that until then. I think it was because of the camera angle that I saw that.

yea he normally does that

at least he did on this past tour

i think he mightve done it on BIAB too

but yea i think that whole bridge thing is one of the most powerful moments in the concert (especially with the BANG BANG!)

my new favorite part in the DVD is either the stage-diving skeleton or the entirety of JOS (sooooo much better than the BIAB one)

wow i never realized/saw that either. could've have something to do that it took me ages to realize the lyrics actually are sieg heil.

difficult part but yknow.

edit: he doesn't do the salute on the world stage show

One of the first things I noticed on the dvd was during Tre's Burnout solo, one of his sticks goes flying and hits Mike and he turns around like WTF???

alright i DEFINITELY have to find this part now

It's after the drum solo in JOS, not burnout

Of course not. The World Stage show was filmed in Germany. Not only is any reference to Nazism illegal there, but it would've been an incredibly hurtful gesture to make in that country.

I know, I am from germany^^ it really is a difficult topic, but I never really thought that he'd think about stuff like that^^

There's many funny parts like that. Poor Mikey! But he can handle it, I love the sound of his bass during the entire concert :bunny:

My favorites are 21st Century Breakdown - Static Age ♥ - ¡Viva la Gloria! - When I Come Around - My Generation - American Eulogy (even after Billie starts singing at the end "Nobody likes you...", I was like "WTF?") - Jesus of Suburbia - Good Riddance.

And Cigs & Vals is amazing, it has parts of the concert from Argentina  Thank you Green Day

Yeah I remember Billie saying that when they wrote that breakdown part of Holiday that they were scared out of their wits about it, so it is cool that they now perform it so ferociously onstage.

Although he doesn't do the salute in World Stage, he doesn't hold back on the "sieg heil" bit either. He sings it quite fiercely and with the images of marching soldiers in the background I thought it was still quite a ballsy thing to do.

Oh my God yes, I think it was during Holiday on the DVD. I was just like "listen to that!" His bass sounds so awesome.

I hate how people are like 'omg Billie, why do you have to be so crazy?' there's nothing terrible about the song Holiday, the 'zeig hail to the president gas man' is one of the best parts of the song . . very intense, true and REAL! Green Day isnt a novelty act, they're about as close as our generation has to something like The Clash . . you think people looked down on Joe Strummer when he wrote 'White Man in Hammersmith Palis'?

The point is Billie's got the balls and I praise him for it . . I loved when he did that rant during American Idiot on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour, I forget where . .

(And, one a side note, how cool is the 'BANG BANG' part when they play the song live?)
