Penguin Puffball Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I can't wait to get this. I still have yet to see it. Hopefully it doesn't take me as long to get this one as it took for me to get BIAB
Tubbie Head Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Oh.. And I loved how at the store they covered the F**K with the price label, so it was just showing Green Day- Awesome as (price)
Hermione Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 ^ Aww it's only poor old Tre covered up by the sticker on mine I came up with Let's Go Crazy!/Let's Go Fuckin' Crazy! : 7 for the CD a few days ago. That's not counting bonus tracks. I could be off lol Haha excellent! Seems like more but I suppose 7 times in 17 tracks is quite a lot!
GreenRanger Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Oh.. And I loved how at the store they covered the F**K with the price label, so it was just showing Green Day- Awesome as (price) It better cost $1000000 at that store then...or it's false advertising.
November's Storms Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 As soon as I got mine I peeled off the price and other stickers on it. I always do that with CDs, I don't care if it includes the hit single "Holiday" or how much it cost
Tubbie Head Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 ^ Aww it's only poor old Tre covered up by the sticker on mine Yeah, there's a pink sticker covering Tré on mine too... xD The price was only in the plastic thing. Ohh.. I haven't mentioned.. I love the booklet too Specially a pic of Mike with the 'Heavy Metal' guitar As soon as I got mine I peeled off the price and other stickers on it. I always do that with CDs, I don't care if it includes the hit single "Holiday" or how much it cost Hhahaah. I never do that 'cause, idk I like the stickers.. Prices not so much lol
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 please help me: i know where/when every single song (from the live-album) was recorded, but "east jesus nowhere" is the only one i don't know of course..i know, it's recorded in glasgow...but when? 2009 or 2010? the youtube-videos aren't helpful :-/ thanks in advance 2010, as the booklet has pictures from the gigs they used, and it has a pic of Tre with the caption "Glasgow, Scotland 21/06/10" I was there!
Malleus Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I just got a copy. I'll have to wait until tonight to listen through it and watch the DVD, so excited.
AnnA™ Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I listened to the CD last night, and well... Wow. 21st Century Breakdown is most special to me since I was there. Amazing to hear the roaring Wembley crowd again really loud on my stereo. And wow, songs like Going To Pasalacqua and Who Wrote Holden Caulfield? on the CD made my night.
EvanAsFuck Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I'm waiting for someones ava or sig to be Mike spazzing during GSB
November's Storms Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I love hearing 21stCB cos I can only imagine how it must have felt running out onstage to such a massive crowd. I think it can be heard in Billie's voice when he shouts "Wembley!", just how big the spectacle was and just how well they rose to the occasion
Guest Schwulah Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 the booklet has pictures from the gigs they used dammit! i was searching my ass off for the dates and they're all in the booklet >.< i was impressed by the pictures, i've never seen the dates at the bottom of the pages... thanks a lot!
November's Storms Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Writing a review for a paper... whats everybodys least favourite thing about AAF? And please don't mention autotune again
Katarina. Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 The editing, you know, the shaky camera parts, and especially the color overlay parts, cause when they play Burnout/WICA/21 Guns, they use a grey/sepia/blue color overlay, doesn't look that nice imo. Doesn't bother me that much, but since you said 'least favorite', I think that's it for me. And I still think they should've included King for a Day/Shout/Medley.
Travis Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Have officially lost count of how many times this albums has repeated itself...including the DVD rip. lol
Sabz Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Lol, i love Mike in AAF, i love his confused look at the start of American Eulogy. I kinda see why Billie hates cameras at shows too, especially when you see an iphone take up half the screen for 5 secs in JOS
Tubbie Head Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I love how in the DVD Mike was having so much attention by the cameras =D I laughed a couple of times thanks to that! Ohh. one more thing, I don't remember which song, Tré in the background, was standing up next to the drums and walking like a robot lol So random and nice few seconds.
EvanAsFuck Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Damn, I love the hand signal thing that Mike and Tré do during 21 Guns...
November's Storms Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 One part I found quite cool was at the end of Know Your Enemy, you can see Tré standing up in the background looking quite angry and with his fists raised in the air before the lights go out and he disappears. Only for a few seconds, but it was quite cool. I also love the fact they have See The Light in the credits, was a little random at first but its good. I feel sorry for See The Light sometimes, its quite underrated!
Alan86 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Awesome as Fuck reached No.9 in the Irish Album Charts in it's debut week. I think thus is pretty good considering it's just a live album http://m.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a311121/adeles-21-continues-irish-chart-reign.html
Angie-Marie Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I love Tre's reaction to the guy in the Skeleton outfit during EJN. he looks like "Man, I wish I'd've thought of that!" And then Billie explaining to the guy to jump off the stage. I know, I loved that! Finally got my copy today and I just watched the DVD through twice. I love it, it definitely brought back a lot of memories. It's going to take me a while to get used to songs like Minority and American Idiot not being there just because I've been listening to the MP3s of the show I was at for so long that I'm used to them being there. That's not a complaint, though, I'd much rather have American Eulogy and Viva La Gloria instead of another live version of King for a Day. I don't mind the lack of behind the scenes stuff, I like that it focuses on the show itself this time around. When I was watching it, it occurred to me that when I'm old, I'm still going to be watching this DVD and remembering how incredible it was to be able to be at one of their shows on that tour. I just started listening to the CD and I already love that, too. Listen to that crowd going crazy during 21st Century Breakdown!
Nickofsuburbia Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I love how Billie screams "What's in your heart Michigan" during J.A.R. i might be a little biased but thats my favorite thing Green Day has ever done One part I found quite cool was at the end of Know Your Enemy, you can see Tré standing up in the background looking quite angry and with his fists raised in the air before the lights go out and he disappears. Only for a few seconds, but it was quite cool. I also love the fact they have See The Light in the credits, was a little random at first but its good. I feel sorry for See The Light sometimes, its quite underrated! 1. Tre is always awesome 2. I LOVE SEE THE LIGHT (especially Tre's drum solos)
Guest ☼ Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I did not get to see them this tour and I was heart broken because they were (and always are) amazing during the AI tour. So listening to Awesome as Fuck makes me sooo jealous that I was not there. But it is totally epic.
Angie-Marie Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Just when I thought I had finished kicking myself for not being at the Detroit show J.A.R. was played at, I listened to this and now I'm kicking myself all over again. God, that was fucking amazing! This whole CD is amazing! Having this to listen to in the car is going to make running errands for work much more fun.
pasalaska Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 AAF isn't even in the top 50 album chart in Australia. surprise, surprise.
