AnnA™ Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I just realized I still haven't listened to the CD. Better get around to it! And then download it into iTunes. Just have to pray that I have room for it all on my iShuffle.
luvgirlcl Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 oh my god. It's just RIDICULOUS how good the sound is in the CD, IT'S INSANE You can hear every single instrument in there, and the sound it's just crystal clear, it's so so so fucking good. Obviously far superior than the live recordings on BIB. Definately worth the name. And I was super happy to see that they put the AAF signs picture in the back of the booklet. Off to see the DVD.
Velocity Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I love this version of Christie Road so much it's not even funny. There's a feeling in it that the studio version doesn't have...like a greater sadness, rather than just boredom. And then the latter part of the song is almost triumphant. It's just dripping with intensity.
Boston Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I'm listening to the album for the first time. Its so awesome; sounds so much better than BIAB. I think its so great because its just the music and none of the concert banter, which you really have to see to appreciate.
Mayra Vicious Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Got my copy today It is, as it says, Awesome As Fuck i have nothing bad to say of it, I liked it all

ash.loves.gd Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Everytime I see Jeff in the background dancing/singing it makes me laugh. I think it has something to do with his face expressions and moves. I absolutely love the album and the DVD, I can not pick a favorite song from either I promised my bestfriend I wouldn't watch it until I was at her house.... Whoopsies Now I'm going to make her believe I haven't watched it yet
EvanAsFuck Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 3) In JOS where Billie sings "care" and does a three-step "up-pitch" (if that makes sense) I think that's my favorite part of the entire DVD... I died when I first heard that... It's so beautiful and unexpected! The guitar solo of American Idiot in the CD is not very good in my opinion. What do you think? You should search up the performance on youtube... The entire un-cut solo is absolutely amazing... He does this crazy palm muted rhythmic thing that just blew my mind (I was at the show)!
Rebel07 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I cannot wait for my AAF vinyl and t-shirt to come! All the way at the end of April lol The cd is better than biab but the DVD isnt as good but is still amazing I agree.
Sanity Loan Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I cannot wait for my AAF vinyl and t-shirt to come! All the way at the end of April lol Same!
Clockwise Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I like it better than BIAB in every way. The only advantage that BIAB has is the documentary footage, and I'm fine with that. AAF has a much better setlist, on CD and on DVD. Also, they're just having more fun on stage this time around I think, not to say that they weren't during the AI era.
The Platypus! Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Was anyone else a bit let down when they found that Minority King For A Day Hitchin' A Ride Longview Brainstew Are We The Waiting St. Jimmy and Jaded were all left off the DVD and CD ? I was but I suppose it would of been 2 - 2 and a half hours long if they'd of had them on too. But it's still amazing every second I have free it's on . EDIT: Is it just me or does the CD sound a bit sped up ?
AlexaRebel27 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 did anyone notice in When I Come Around on the DVD when Billie sings "I'm a loser and a user so I don't need no accuser to try and slag me down because I know you're right" it shows Mike & he mouths the words "...because I know you're fucked" instead of "right"
Sara Armstrong Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 finally bought it. it is so incredible and it sounds even better blasting from my car. i really love 21CB.
Sarabeth Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 My mom just said this to me: "Sarabeth, I have a confession to make. while you were at school yesterday I snuck your DVD. I wanted to watch it and it wasn't in the DVD player so I thought you must have put it away. So I went in your room and searched for it. And when I found it, I watched the whole thing." My mom should just admit that she likes Green Day a lot.

He seemed to think it was funny!
nikki0995 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I LOVED THE CD! dnt get me wrong. but i wish there were more interveiws and behing the scenes on the DVD part like bullet in the bible. But it was still AWESOME as F**K
Boston Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I have officially never liked a live album as much as I love AAF.
rback57 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I haven't really stopped listening to it since I got it... But, I haven't watched the DVD since Tuesday, I think it's time again....
Chad is Rad Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Hey guys, I still don't have Awesome as Fuck and I feel horrible about it, I just don't have enough money to get it yet. :/ So I have a question about the DVD...is it like BIAB, does it have interviews and backstage footage between songs? I've been really worried about them not incorporating that into it.

I've been really worried about them not incorporating that into it. They don't have any interviews they have. At the beginning of 21CB Mike Billie and Tre saying a line each as they walk in to the arena. Beginning of EJN people running to the front. And before Burnout they have some Japanese stewards saying something. But the DVD is epic it makes up for the lack of backstage stuff.

I've been really worried about them not incorporating that into it. There are no interviews or anything. They do show the venue and a few shots of the band backstage, but that's it. Not much at all. Mostly photographs between songs. It's more of a true concert DVD, without a backstage documentary between songs to disrupt the flow. I actually prefer it to BIAB for that reason--it's more of a concert experience and less of a documentary film that happens to include concert footage. I like the interview footage more. I've seen the band live three times; its not that I don't care about watching a concert DVD, but I'd rather see interview footage rather than something I've already seen in person and thusly enjoyed more. Before I'd seen them live, I saw BIAB and it was magical. I'll never feel that way again when watching a concert DVD because I've seen them, though.
Chad is Rad Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I feel horrible that I haven't seen it yet! But I'll get it as soon as I can...I was kinda hoping it wouldn't be filmed in Japan. I wanted to see some Lollapalooza clips on it, but I guess the world doesn't revolve around me. I was so sure they would include Lollapalooza on it because it was one of the biggest shows on the tour. Guess not though.

Travis Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Finally caved and ordered the CD+Blu-Ray off of Amazon. Seems like none of the local stores have the Blu-Ray version, just DVD. Should be here on Saturday! That's my issue here in Hawaii as well. They only have the DVD in stock. To Amazon I went!
