Why do you keep comparing them to Cher?

And am I deaf? Cause I really can't hear anything out of the ordinary.

I can't hear anything either. I was bracing myself for unbearable amounts of autotune but I just can't hear it. I'm totally ignorant about how these things work so I have no idea if it's actually there or not, I'm happy to live in blissful ignorance about it

 Im not comparing them to Cher just trying to point out the vocal effects its the same style but not as extreme, I can hear them clearly, Burnout on the DVD/Blu even more so.

He just became a quality singer after all these years :P

... and it still doesn't even matter :D

I don't hear any autotune on the CD. I must either be deaf, or who ever is saying it's autotuned is trying too hard.

I can't hear anything.I don't know what you re saying and I don't care really.Billie's voice is great,he doesn't need anything

i still cant hear any auto-tune...his voice on dvd and cd is exactly like i remember his voice at the concerts ive visited..im done with this auto-tune shit...maybe they (warner) used it or maybe not, who cares? the true fans know how awesome green day are, live and on studio-records...and the masses, who just listen sometimes to some few songs of them on the radio maybe, wont even care

Maybe because he uses those effects live on certain songs nowadays? I dont think its a effect added afterwards.

Anyhow at the end of the day its how it sounds to you, and if you enjoy it, great! The music sounds great but then it always did, even as a 3 piece!

Y'know, you're really not suppose to use those to clean your ears.

Expected to debut at #8 or #9 on the Billboard 200, with sales between 25-30k. I was hoping for better numbers. =/

I have :)

If you decide to share them, could you maybe drop me a PM or something? :)

Billie's just such a great singer that people assume that he must be using auto-tune...

Even though I can't hear them I don't think that means they haven't used effects on his voice. I just think they must've done them well and in a way that isn't noticeable. Like, the high notes in 21 Guns are suspiciously perfect compared to what I've heard live so I assume they must've used effects of some kind.......but if I didn't know he's usually slightly off on some of them I wouldn't be able to tell.

I dont think there's any autotune here. A lot of this either sounds like I remember it or similar to what I've heard on Youtube or something. I think it's pretty consistent.

The one time I think I noticed it after reading it (I genuinely wouldn't have thought that much about it otherwise) was the bit where he says "rolling by" at the start of Christie Road. If anyone could point me in the direction of any examples as specific as that it would be nice. It doesn't really ruin my enjoyment of it though, I still love The Mark Tom & Travis show even though most of Tom DeLonge's bits were re-recorded as he's shit live.

If there's one complaint I have about AAF, it's that the Holiday concussions (BANG BANG) aren't turned up enough... I was hoping for my speakers to explode at that moment in the DVD and CD...

Here is Burnout with AutoTune for you guys

Oh my god that's amazing...

I just watched it with mum. I almost feel bad about complaining, but there were things missing. A couple of songs mostly of course, I mean Longview, Hitchin' A Ride, Brain Stew, King For A Day and Minority that just has to be included in a Green Day concert in my opinion. On the other hand, I loved seeing songs like Burnout, Geek Stink Breath and Welcome To Paradise on the DVD. I wish there would've been more behind the scenes material, and the way it's cut and stuff (which has already been brought up) was slightly disappointing.

And Auto Tune? All I know is that I loved Billie's singing, it was so lovely. Haha.

So yeah, I was hoping for something a bit more like Bullet In A Bible, and not MTV World Stage we saw last year. But I'm over that now. It's Green Day so of course it's still awesome as fuck either way.

(review of album)

You stole most of what I was going to say. :P

I wanted to see some more songs, mainly Longview and/or King for a Day. I loved seeing Geek Stink Breath, though, especially on the video. Speaking of the video, I was a bit disappointed. I was hoping for more behind the scenes stuff, and also dialouge during the concert. Of course, I don't know if there was much dialouge during the actual concert, since I didn't get a chance to go. :( And, I don't like the way they did the audio recording for the cd, it sounds weird going from song to song when they change venues. Some of the recordings were recorded with different equipment it seemed, giving it a different sound. But it's minor stuff. Oh, AND, Cigarettes and Valentines is my new favorite song. :D

All in all, though, seriously Awesome. As Fuck.

oh, and about this autotune stuff, I didn't hear it, and I don't think that they would do that. But who knows, I guess.

Well, on the autotune thing I'll just say that Christie Road sounds suspiciously perfect at some points. Not suggesting that's autotuned, just saying that I noticed that (and I honestly noticed it, not in a looking for autotune way). And there were a couple more times I thought that, but I noticed it a lot during Christie Road. Again, not saying autotune was used, just that it sounds curiously good sometimes.

But Billie's a great singer so who knows, maybe it's just a tiny bit polished up and that's it. Or nothing done to it at all. And it doesn't sound robotic, it just sounds, well, almost too perfect. lol that sounds kind of creepy, haha.
