Laura! Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 The dvd was rad, but Good Riddance seemed so sped up....O_O They speed up pretty much every song live. So that doesn't surprise me if it is.
GDInsaniac Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 The CD and DVD are amazing! could not stop thinking about it during school today. During Geek Stink Breath billies voice sounds different, but its still green day and they are amazing!!!
Guest Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 They speed up pretty much every song live. So that doesn't surprise me if it is. The DVD barely lasted long enough for me. Felt a itty bit to short, i liked it though. Beej looked creepily speedy near the end of G.R. though. I bet you if King For A Day was in AAF, the DVD would be 2 hours longer.
GreenRanger Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Awesome as Fuck is really good. The DVD was a bit jumpy and effect heavy in places, but still fun to watch. I realized that there's a huge difference between filiming in an outside venue and filming in an inside one. Outside is so much better. Everything sounds superb and better live. Time to start jumbling up every time I hear the studio versions. That middle section of the CD is pretty damn fun. And yes, "Nobody Likes You" was pretty much my favorite part of the DVD. American Eulogy is such a beast song...although they should turn up Mike's mic a little.
Of Rage and Love Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 The Viva la Gloria from the CD made me re-fall in love with the song, the harmonies between Mike, Jason, and the crowd were so perfect.
Clayish Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Its funny how Billie Joe still needs a sheet of paper to remember the lyrics to Gloria. He always messes a line up.
Fanny. Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 WOW watching the Awesome as Fuck blu ray gave me the impression Green Day was playing a gig in my basement! It felt great I love the CD and the dvd is just one big piece of epicness as well! The sax solo in the Static Age is amazing, Viva La Gloria is so beautiful just like 21 Guns, American Eulogy is so energetic live and My Generation is freaking great! These are the songs that stands out for me (:
umbjisfhinefum Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I was definitely entertained watching this, but I really missed the little sequences between each song like they did in BIAB. i felt a lot more detached while watching this one. with BIAB i felt like i was there...
Sara Armstrong Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 i decided to download "letterbomb" from itunes since i wanted something to hold me over until thursday and it's one of my fave green day songs, and jfc. it's incredible. i wish they would've performed it at my show.
greendepent Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Why? The World Stage thing I saw in the cinema was great, but the editing was quite bad. Cutting half of Jesus of Suburbia out is not what I call necessary.. Well, at least is more real than AAF. And they cut the half of American Eulogy, I know that it was only a jam during the middle of the song, but they have space in the dvd for more minutes. Probably they don't wanna show the mistake (for me) that have the Green Day shows. I saw AAF and I think that its lame for the level of Green Day. Stupid special effects (like the end of Static Age, you never will see that live) The "reverb" in the DVD audio is a bit annoying, and the worst of all, the edited voices. They also show things that you don't want too see. For example, if I see the drum solo in burnout, I want to see Tré, if I see the instrumental break in Welcome To Paradise, Mike must have the shot for a while, not just a few miliseconds.
lastnightonGDA Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Just finished the DVD. Beautiful. Just beautiful.
Travis Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Hawaii epically failed me and did not get the blu-ray edition so I had to order it. I know the DVD rip is up...anyone planning on ripping the blu-ray?

captain peroxide Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I'd love an HD version of the DVD, just to have on my computer and such. Gonna look around torrent sites though, hopefully save Matt the trouble of uploading such a massive file.

Burnout98 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Billie putting that orange mask on looked very weird.....
captain peroxide Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Yeah, I've checked all the usual haunts. Nothing HD yet, but it's early days.
Sanity Loan Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I've looked on piratebay and the only thing right now is the DVD Rip. That DVD rip on there has GOT to look like SHIT. It's not even a gig! The DVD rip I made for my iPhone is about 1.3 gigs
groundpatty Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 At the end of the 'Paper Lanterns/2000 Light Years Away' iTunes bonus track, Billie says something like "this next song is ____, alright?!" And I can't for the life of me figure out what song he says, cuz u can tell they tried to mute that part, but it bled into the crowd noise. Anyone know what he's saying? Just out of curiosity
porksoda Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Not really that special, he did a version of that rant at pretty much every show. You like to shit on everything, don't you? I too was disappointed that was cut out. Also, dunno if this has been mentioned, but I went to 3 Target's today and was told they didn't have AAF. Is Target not carrying it cause of the title? Or do my local Targets just suck? I had to go to Best Buy and they didn't even have the deluxe version.

I downloaded it and put it on my hard drive to watch through my PS3 on my big screen. It's not clear, but you get the point of what's happening lol
