BillieJoeLegstrong Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 i love the way billie sings christie road on the itunes deluxe edition! =D
GDJonny Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hmmmm :/ Now the problem of where to put Letterbomb, Christie Road, and PL/2000LYA in the track-listing... Any help anyone??? EDIT: Also is there no album cover with "Awesome As Fuck" I'm only finding the censored ones.
Jaymee!! Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 OMG WHERE WHERE WHERE give me seconds into the song! I wanna hear! I can hear you screaming too. And Liz. And Sarah. And Becki. And Tony. And Bubbles. And pretty much everyone who went to a show
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hmmmm :/ Now the problem of where to put Letterbomb, Christie Road, and PL/2000LYA in the track-listing... Any help anyone??? EDIT: Also is there no album cover with "Awesome As Fuck" I'm only finding the censored ones. Letterbomb after Holiday Christie Road after Holden Caulfield Paper Lanterns after Christie Road You need to mess with the iTunes starting times for it to flow, it's annoying that the bonus track crowd noise fades in and out. If you go to Get Info>Options>Start Time and change it to 2 seconds that makes the transition sound better. To give you an idea, the track lengths I have now are Letterbomb 4:26 Christie Road 3:46 Paper Lanterns 5:42 For the album cover, check back a few pages I posted a photoshopped one I did because it annoys me to a ridiculous extent that they named the album Awesome As Fuck but didn't even print that on the cover.
captain peroxide Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hmmmm :/ Now the problem of where to put Letterbomb, Christie Road, and PL/2000LYA in the track-listing... Aska and I decided that Letterbomb goes after Holiday, Christie Road after Burnout and PL/2000LYA after JAR.
Kaddi. Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I can hear you screaming too. And Liz. And Sarah. And Becki. And Tony. And Bubbles. And pretty much everyone who went to a show Seriously? I think I wouldn't even be able to hear myself. All I hear is a huge crowd screaming, that's it.
pasalaska Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I can hear you screaming too. And Liz. And Sarah. And Becki. And Tony. And Bubbles. And pretty much everyone who went to a show oh I see. YAY US *hi five*

David41275 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 The reason the bootlegs sound different to a professionally produced live album is because of the difference in recording equipment. Think about it. The pros have direct line access to the sound board, which means clean high quality audio. Whereas people who record bootlegs have crappy phone cameras or amature audio recording gear, and on top of that, the audio being recording is not even the primary source, as it is just a recording of an amplified audio source. Which means things are bound to sound different depending on all sorts of variables such as position and direction of recording equipment etc. This is why I find your comment about 'un-auto tuned' bootlegs sounding different to the 'clearly-autotuned' professional recordings pretty silly OK, this is the last thing I'm saying on this subject because you've clearly missed the point. I've seen Green Day twice. AI tour and this tour. Did Billie sound like he did on the AAF DVD..... Nope. He has fixed his vocals in post production, there's no argument about it, it's a fact. He does not sound like that live. The vocals have been enhanced and the some of the guitar work has been redubbed in post. Lots of bands do it for their live DVDs. They fill out the sound with layers. The difference between BIAB and AAF is obvious. BIAB sounds live, AAF does not in some parts of the DVD.
Katarina. Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I haven't decided yet where to put the bonus songs. For now I just put them after Good Riddance. Gonna change that soon though, Letterbomb should go after Holiday or something.
Laura! Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I've been listening to the CD all morning and I love it. Can't wait till I can get home and watch the DVD! My favorites are: JAR (of course!), Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, Burnout, WMUWSE, 21 Guns and Christie Road.
David41275 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I'd just like to say thanks to every one that read my review. I was being very honest and attempted to put a humorous slant on proceedings, which some people got... Others didn't. Just remember, opinions are like assholes... Everybody has one. That review was MY opinion on a DVD I did enjoy. I feel that wasn't made abundantly clear. My problem was that the DVD, whilst thoroughly entertaining, could have been better. I'm not going to write a lengthy post on how AMAZING AND OMG IT MADE ME CRY AND THE WORLD IS SUDDENLY A BETTER PLACE, OMG!!! No, it's a band, that's all. Just a band that are now very very famous, very very rich and very VERY careful about what they release. There is too much attention on the band and too much money to be made to fuck around. This DVD was produced to appeal to the biggest market, not hardcore fans. That's why it's full of whiz-pokery and effects. Christ, not even MUSE (possibly the most pretentious band on earth) didn't do this to their DVD.
gloria123 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Yay, I turned thirteen today and am getting Awesome As F**k as a present! happy birthday! that must be a great gift
David41275 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Yay, I turned thirteen today and am getting Awesome As F**k as a present! Happy Birthday and, you're too young to watch it.... It's got bad words in it and it's past your bedtime.

GuitarPunk94 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 OK, this is the last thing I'm saying on this subject because you've clearly missed the point. I've seen Green Day twice. The difference between BIAB and AAF is obvious. BIAB sounds live, AAF does not in some parts of the DVD. i think now i exactly know about what actually some persons are complaining (like "robotic voice")...i can hear a difference between billie's voice at AAF (cd and dvd) and the studio records (cant explain what difference because you just need to hear o.O dunno how to explain ) but billie's voice at AAF is nearly exactly the same like his voice at the concerts ive visited..so no fuckin auto-tuning, Green Day dont need this maybe you should try to entertain masses with a 3 hour concert (all around the world) ... without loosing your "original voice" a bit
GDJonny Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Christie Road = Great Song BUT the auto tune is obvious towards the beginning, there is no need. Ah well I'm not bothered, really great song. Also, is it just me or are the bonus tracks quieter???
November's Storms Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Happy Birthday and, you're too young to watch it.... It's got bad words in it and it's past your bedtime. Guess I was wrong, you are pretentious
The Snark Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I'm feeling a bit sick, I'm going to take a little trip to Best Buy today anyways. Oh, the lengths I go to as a Green Day fan...
EvanAsFuck Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Just finished my first watch through... I'm utterly speechless... So much energy! I could write a 5 page review on how amazing AAF is, but I'll just sum it up by saying: Wow. The second half of 21stCB is so powerful and crazy, Holiday actually blew my mind (more than usual), something about Static Age just sent constant shivers down my spine (and that lead in from Holiday ), Viva La Gloria is so incredibly beautiful, Burnout was awesome (but I didn't like the black and white boringness of the video part), Geek Stink Breath may be one of my favorites on the DVD, Welcome to Paradise was mind-blowing as usual, When I Come Around? probably the best performance I've seen of that song (I loved the beginning part of Billie with the crowd), My Generation was so exciting (I can tell they had fun with that one!), She made me wanna dance the fuck around, 21 Guns has the most amazing piano breakdown ever, American Eulogy was definitely a great choice for the DVD, Jesus of Suburbia was almost as good as the BIAB version (but some of the newish parts are better), and Good Riddance brought me very close to complete tears (I love the little "off" note Billie does at the end there)... In terms of the auto-tune, I kinda hear what you guys are talking about, but I don't really think it's auto-tune, at least not all of it. There may be a little of it in there, but even so, I don't think it really takes away from the songs at all! Can't wait to have it on Blu-Ray!!!
