lizziebix Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Plus the World Stage "movie" doesn't have C&V and if it's going to take another 5-6 months to get out - it would have to be a new one. I hope, at least!
pasalaska Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 this is great news! I really really hope there's footage from at least one of the concerts Ive been to... aside from C&V which is almost a given
Moxy Crimefighter Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I want backstage antics god damn it!
theeulogy Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Awesome! I hope they'll unclude Wembley show...at least one song.Cause it was just great
-Billiejoezee- Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Are they gonna put material off of the first leg of the tour as well or only '10?
Leisha-LUNA Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Are they gonna put material off of the first leg of the tour as well or only '10? Oh how I hope its both. But I have a feeling it won't be. That's a lot of shows to cram into one cd/dvd. even just 2010 is a lot of shows.

That's a lot of shows to cram into one cd/dvd. even just 2010 is a lot of shows. yeah you're right. Oh well. I think they're only gonna add one song off of each gig. I never believe billie when he said "I have a feeling most songs are gonna be from this show"
Alan86 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I hope the DVD has lots of oldies like pasalacqua, 2000LYA and Paper Lanterns, but also an accoustic version of whatsername
AndrewW91 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 The CD, however, I'd expect to cover dates from the whole tour, 2009 and 2010, as it's easy to merge audio without anyone noticing, but a video of twenty different venues would be confusing. Billie also changes is hair and/or outfit every 2 days.. So that'd be noticeable also.
Serpent72 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I want a live version of Homecoming. :eyebrow: IDK if they played it at all this tour though. >_<
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 If they're not doing things from different shows because of petty things like different venues and small changes in outfit, then that would be INCREDIBLY stupid. I'm not saying it's impossible that that'll happen, but it would be really stupid if it does. Also, at the C&V comment, what the hell. If they recorded anything for sure, it's the US 2010 leg of the tour, and Billie fucking announced that the shows were being recorded at the first show they played C&V.

The only real problem I could see with different shows is Billy's hair color. I'm sure they could edit around everything else. Hell, they may even be able to edit around his hair. Pick the most common hair color and use shots from shows where you don't see his hair otherwise.
Velocity Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I don't think they're going to even try making it look like one show. They'll probably make it clear that it's a compilation of different shows from over the tour. So differences in venues, outfits, hair colors, etc. will be kind of a given.
jon18 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Overreact much? C&V will definitely be on the CD, but I don't think it'll be on the DVD of the tour because, like I said, none of the shows where C&V was played had video recording going on. When you're recording a concert for a DVD, you have cameras freaking everywhere. Out over the crowd, multiple cameramen onstage with the band...none of the US tour shows had that. None show of the tour had that. I think the dvd will be the World Stage thing.
Tubbie Head Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I want a huge fuckin' set-list, FULL CONCERT PLEASE. =)
Tubbie Head Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Overreact much? I also think they will choose concerts where Billie is wearing the same cloth and same hair. ( it's not going to be that easy for them to do that.. Since they wanted to use a song from a different country) Let's see... From the '10 tour: Europe- black hair and red pants (mostly); North America- Blond, red pants; South America- Back hair, black pants)... From 2009: North America- back hair, black cloth; Europe- Blond hair- black cloth; Australia: Black Hair, black cloth. This is definitely not matching.... They could mix concerts in the CD, and use some concerts where they are using the same cloth for the dvd but maybe they don't want to do separated things, if it happens to be like BIAB... Btw GUYS IT'S NOT THE WORLD STAGE THING!
jon18 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 At concerts, there were only two or three cameras to the giant screens. It is not enough to make a DVD. The dvd will be the world stage thing.

jtdscape Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 The dvd will be the world stage thing. No it will not be
GuitarPunk94 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 No it will not be so if it wont be the world stage thing it will definitely be the 21st century breakdown tour
Alan86 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I'm sure if Green Day wanted the DVD to look like one show they would have made more of an effort to stay with the same hair colour and clothes, I'm almost certain that they will just pick the best performaces of the songs they want on the setlist without even trying to hide the fact that all the songs are from different shows.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Overreact much? C&V will definitely be on the CD, but I don't think it'll be on the DVD of the tour because, like I said, none of the shows where C&V was played had video recording going on. When you're recording a concert for a DVD, you have cameras freaking everywhere. Out over the crowd, multiple cameramen onstage with the band...none of the US tour shows had that. That said, recording audio is much easier. You only need a mixing board to get a good multi-track recording. And things like changing venues and clothing are not "petty" in the eyes of a director or the average audience. The idea of a concert DVD is to create the illusion that the audience is watching this band's live show from start to finish on one night of the tour. If Billie Joe's hair changes color between songs, and we suddenly go from Wembley's monstrous stage to a tiny little arena setup, how is that creating the illusion of a complete show? It would confuse the audience. I'm not making this crap up. Watch "Queen Rock Montreal" with the commentary on. The director wanted the band to wear the exact same costumes, do the exact same moves, and play the exact same songs both nights. Freddie Mercury decided he didn't like being told what to do, so he changed pants for the encore on the second night. As a result, one song is permanently out of place on the DVD, and two songs were cut out of the performance entirely and the video lost forever. All because of Freddie Mercury's pants not being the same on night two as they were on night one. First of all, I'm not overreacting, just bluntly saying what I think (which is that I think it would be really stupid if they did that). As for C&V, they didn't have cameras like that at any show. And as for the clothing and hair thing, I agree with Velocity: I don't think they're going to even try making it look like one show. They'll probably make it clear that it's a compilation of different shows from over the tour. So differences in venues, outfits, hair colors, etc. will be kind of a given. I don't think it would/should be a problem there are differences like that. With something like BIAB, I understand, because that's the registration of one "set" of concerts. This is an album which is for the entire tour. I wouldn't like it if they just put stuff from one or two concerts on the DVD then.
farley drexel hatcher Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Look at those videos from last year of Last Night On Earth, Murder City, etc. All pro shot and no one even noticed I think the DVD will probably be a select few performances from different shows.
Ellenkc Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I really really doubt that dvd will be the World Stage show, that's owned by MTV so I can't see Green Day releasing it along with the live album. Weren't there professional cameras in Japan or China? If they're putting different venues in the dvd I don't think it will be edited at all. I'd say it would be a tour dvd, showing all the different venues and band footage in between, or just one show they filmed properly. Look at those videos from last year of Last Night On Earth, Murder City, etc. All pro shot and no one even noticed I think the DVD will probably be a select few performances from different shows. I never even thought about those!
