Hermione Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I feel kinda lonely in my not having a problem at all with not listening to the stream and just waiting I don't have a problem with it either, I might if it was the DVD but not fussed about waiting for the audio. I'll get more enjoyment from having the double whammy of CD and DVD on Monday, with all the anticipation of going to buy it and bringing it home and stuff.
pasalaska Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I can't wait for everyone else to get the DVD! It's not fair that we get to marvel in its awesomeness while everyone else has to wait another 5 days.

champagne mami Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Listened to all of it up until J.A.R, I had to listen to that one a couple of times in a row. http://www.nme.com/news/green-day/55498 Yay, thank you, Andrew!
DecanoLP Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Is it true that they cut out the solo guitar part in GTP before the full band joins in? Does the track begin immediately with "Here we go again..."?
Punx89 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 It's so unfair that everyone is listening to the album and I haven't .I m just kidding, I think I can wait until tuesday.

skindogfuss Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I'll be honest and be the one to ask why there is Autotune on Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, Geek Stink Breath, When I Come Around (not as much) and She (even less, but still there)? And trust me, it's there, I work with autotune quite a lot. I don't know if it's on anything from American Idiot onwards, hope not

I've never heard of Green Day using autotune.
skindogfuss Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Thankfully, it's not on WMUWSE or Good Riddance. Odd how it's only on a couple of tracks. edit: listen to holden caulfield, it sounds incredibly robotic, it's either autotune or a vocoder, quite why either would be used I don't know.
oda Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 [quote name=The Guy called Kill ' timestamp='1300378585' post='4348764] Did anyone in the UK buy it from Play.com? If they did have they had a e-mail from them saying it's been dispatched?
Martyn Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I really don't hear the "autotune". Just compared the CD version of Who Wrote Holden Caulfield? to a video someone took: 0:50 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o551HIvQDPU Not the best quality but sound's pretty samish to me?

I heard some robotic sounds too, but i though it was just my computer being a bitch I got the illegal download though, are you sure it's not just broken or something? If it's on the live stream too then i'm concerned.
Hermione Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I've never heard of autotune on a live album. I've never heard of Green Day using autotune. That high note in the chorus on the studio recording of 21 Guns sounds pretty dodgy from the amount they tweaked it (I dunno if it's actually autotune or some other effect they used), I'm used to it now but when I first heard it it really stuck out. I hope they haven't messed with the vocals too much on this..........that's just wrong on a live album! Have to wait and see.
DecanoLP Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 YES! raaaaaaage! This sucks Thanks for the info though...
Agija Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I really can't wait to get both the CD and DVD. I've only listened to a few songs so far because it always feels a lot better listening them right after getting the CD. It sounds fantastic according to what I've read on here.

If it's on the live stream too then i'm concerned. I've got the version straight from Warner through my dad (he's on radio so gets things early here), so I'm sure it's not the illegal copies. It's a big shame that there've been any vocal tweaks at all.
rfgz Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Does anyone know whether the three bonus tracks on iTunes will be available individually or just together with the whole album? I know that until now it seems you can only get it in its entirety. My problem: I ordered the physical CD because I love to hold an actual CD in my hands but I also want to own the bonus tracks. Best without wasting money for the tracks I already own... So?
Hanner Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 It kinda annoys me how that put ¡Viva la Gloria! on it. They only played that what, like, 2 or 3 times? idk. It's a good song, just seems like a weird choice. and it's freaking me out listening to all the shows I was at

Best without wasting money for the tracks I already own... So? To get bonus tracks you normally have to buy the whole album, if you have already bought the CD then just wait a few days and download the bonus songs illegaly, there is no point in buying the album twice to get an extra few songs.

Best without wasting money for the tracks I already own... So? that's what a lot of people have been wondering about. The way Warner have worded it ("3 bonus songs (Letterbomb, Christie Road, and Paper Lanterns/2000 Light Years Away) come with the iTunes pre-order") makes it sound like you have to pre-order the whole album off iTunes to get the bonus songs. fuck that. I'm gonna be illegal about this.
Punx89 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I see many complaints here about the album.why?Just have fun and enjoy it....
