champagne mami Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Listening to it again, it's so great. His vocals and everything are just Who Wrote Holden Caulfield is probably my favorite after first listen. When the crowd goes "don't test me, second guess me. protest me, you will disappear" p e r f e c t yes omg
emenius Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 With regards to the Kerrang review, Ian Winwood, the reviewer, is actually a massive Green Day fan, and manages to mention them in virtually every music related article he writes- so I think this review is really from a true fans perspective. I actually agree that BIAB was a bit pretentious (I blame that arrogant fucker Samuel Bayer), taking itself far to seriously, and didn't actually give a good account of what a Green Day show is all about ie. fun. Anyway....can anyone who already has a copy of AAF tell me whether EJN is from the '09 or '10 tour in Glasgow....thanks.
Alan86 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 After hearing how great the oldies sound burnout, she, JAR, pasalacqua, and who wrote Holden caulfield, I can't wait to hear Christie Road and Paper Lanterns/2000LYA. I just know they're going to be awesome
Monica. Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I'm listening to J.A.R. right now...i'm crying. "What's in your heart, Michigan???"

Yeah I didn't think the review was particularly bad (aside from the awful title part ). I agree about BIAB too.

redline punk Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 listen this cd in a home theater gives the impression that you is on a real concert, is awesome
Tre_Gina Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 i've had an email from HMV to say 'it's on the way' so I should hopefully get it saturday...
blvd Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 To me it feels like they've managed to convey the atmosphere, energy and tempo that's so significant for a Green Day concert on this record. The old songs sounds better than ever, especially Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?, Burnout and Going to Pasalacqua and to finally be able to listen to Cigarettes And Valentines in its full quality was amazing. With regard to the everlasting copyright debate, I think that's only a natural consequence of having different release dates in different countries. I've pre-ordered a copy that will be delivered on the 23rd but who the hell wants to wait for that when the record is out on the Internet? Not me.
