AndrewW91 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I thought Kerrang was tight with Green Day? What the eff...
farley drexel hatcher Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Ah well, who cares what Kerrang thinks; this album isn't catering to the masses, for once, like BIAB. It's one big inside joke with the fans, and that's the whole point in it. I guess people who aren't in on the joke just won't appreciate it as much.
dria021772 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 A big "Fuck You" to Kerrang on this one! Well said!!!
Vaso.Of.Suburbia Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 A big "Fuck You" to Kerrang on this one! Couldn't agree more
Metanoia Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 That one will never get old. :,) A big "Fuck You" to Kerrang on this one! Thank You, Tony!
oda Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I always giggle a little when people say the title sucks, because i'll be thinking: Well thats because you're not awesome enough to know the story behind it, dumbass
GuitarPunk94 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 stupid Kerrang o.O AAF is dedicated to the real green day fans, not to the masses.. 27 hours left until I gonna see the dvd in cinema!!
Fanny. Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 The sound of thousands of people singing that they don't want to be American Idiots, despite the fact that this song was recorded in Montreal Yeah it’s a known fact that people in other countries can’t relate to this song and enjoy singing it But I agree that it was a great moment! And by the sound of it, they obviously don’t know where the title comes from! Anyway I’m very well pleased with what we’re getting and not a single review will change the fact that AAF is gonna be full of greatness and amazing to watch
Alan86 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 If it was filmed in England Kerrang! would love it. I don't see why all of a sudden they have decided to take cheap shots at the band when for the last 2 years all they have done is used the band to sell there shit little magazine to teen fans. EDIT: actually its probally more like 10 years that they have used Green Day to sell mags
GuitarPunk94 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 The track-listing for Awesome As Fuck is as follows: CD 1. 21st Century Breakdown - (London, England) ... 17. Letterbomb - (Chula Vista, California) --> ??where can i find/buy this Deluxe Version of the Album?? 2. Christie Road - (Hartford, Connecticut) iTUNES BONUS TRACKS 1. Letterbomb - (Chula Vista, California) 2. Christie Road - (Hartford, Connecticut) 3. Paper Lanterns/2000 Light Years Away - (Alpharetta, Georgia) (iTunes Exclusive) --->and this ("3.") is just iTunes only??
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 That's a very good review in my book, which makes you wonder why they gave it 3 Ks. The middle section is easily the best bit, which they've said. The early stuff sounds a bit dated production wise and this opportunity to hear new recorded versions of them is exciting, which they've said. The 21st Century Breakdown songs aren't as good as the American Idiot songs, which they've said, Bullet In A Bible was poor, which they've said. They are the world's most exciting live group, which they've said. Very fair review. Only thing I don't agree with is them saying the title is bad, it's a brilliant title and certainly better than "the greatest show on earth."

Tre_Gina Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 and I thought Kerrang loved Green Day! Awful title like a few other people have said, this release is for the real fans.
Laura! Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I can't hear the preview on itunes. I can't either. It's weird they had it available a week before the release though.
WorryRock02 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 awful title?? but WTF!!! i mean this is kerrank aweful review ever! awesome as fuck 's a fucking good title!
Nzap Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Well thats because you're not awesome enough to know the story behind it, dumbass Well apparently I'm not awesome enough What is the story behind it. I''ve been waiting for it the day it was announced, but, hell, still I don't know the story behind the name.
November's Storms Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Awfully titled?! Hey! That's only okay when WE say it. And even then its not true! I thought Kerrang was tight with Green Day? What the eff... Well they did compliment Green Day overrall. "Most entertaining live band", "Green Day don't deal in bad songs" etc, they just weren't fans of this album. Which is allowed. Well apparently I'm not awesome enough What is the story behind it. I''ve been waiting for it the day it was announced, but, hell, still I don't know the story behind the name. Check almost any other page of this thread At Green Days show in Paris, the last of the European tour (I think), fans help up signs saying "thank you" during the encore. Fans in the North American tour carried on the trend, and in the show in Colorado fans help up signs saying "awesome as fuck" Billie clearly enjoyed these and during the last song "Good Riddance", he included the phrase into the song by singing "so take the photographs and still frames in your much. Hang it on a shelf and you're awesome as fuck" Calling it that is Green Day's way of saying "thank you" back to the fans, in my opinion
idc Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I'm not listening to it but YAY i didn't listen to the rest either but billie asking 'are you with me' over and over again
james.england121 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 which itunes can we hear these previews? not on the Uk one! Happy Paper Lanterns/2000 Light Years Away has been added! (praying you can buy them separately)
Kaddi. Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 That's a stupid review. First of all, Bullet in a Bible is not terrible! Plus, what would be the point in putting the same songs (like Basket Case, Longview, Hitchin a Ride, etc.) on the album again if they're all on BIAB already? I love that there are all those old and rarely played songs on there. I my opinion, choosing those songs over some of the greatest hits was a really good idea.

First of all, Bullet in a Bible is not terrible! I stil lcan't get over the fact they actually wrote that.

I stil lcan't get over the fact they actually wrote that. I know, right?! I've actually never heard anyone call it terrible before. I always thought it had only gotten good reviews. Plus, I don't see what should be so terrible about it.
