Sanity Loan Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 That if this release was meant to feature the DVD (rather than a live album) they probably wouldn't have just done a Tokyo show. Though honestly, I don't really see a difference or understand why people care if it's just from Tokyo. I CALL RACISM! I DO TOO
Bastard of 1967 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I'm so excited for the album and DVD to be released, but the only thing that I didn't like was that they filmed it in Tokyo. I have nothing against Japan or anything, but I just wished that they would have filmed the concert in the states. It would have been awesome if it was a mix of recordings from all over the U.S. Like for each song they would show the video of it from a different State or City and all of the different design or looks that each one had. Or just one concert that they did here in the States. Like if they would have recorded the Denver show and made that the live DVD, that would have been just one hell of a bonus. To see all of those people just holding the Awesome As Fuck signs in the pit, that would have just been epic. We've been over this before. Would cost $$$$$$$$$$ to drag a video production crew around to more than a venue or two with them, and they need to use a different stage, lighting, pyro, layout when they film for DVD/Blu-Ray as opposed to when they're just shooting for the jumbotrons. Still gonna be awesome as [NOTGONNASAYIT!!], I'm buying it to see the band, not the fans.

OR, they need someone on their team reminding them what fans would buy up like nobody's business.

OR, they need someone on their team reminding them what fans would buy up like nobody's business. True that. Saw another post in this thread about Mike saying that it was supposed to be just a live CD but that the DVD was basically just an accident. If that's also true, that would make at least some sense I suppose -- that they weren't planning to release any video but this particular show taped well enough to make it worth doing if only as an afterthought. Guess we'll see in a few weeks.
EvanAsFuck Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 greenday.com have realised there mistake on the splash page. The CD and DVD tracklisting are now the right way around It's still backwards for me?
Alan86 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 It's still backwards for me? Strange it's definitely the right way around for me, I just checked again to make sure
Fuzz Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Yeah, Green Day need more money. I wonder how much money we'd make if we setup a tip-jar just for Green Day on the site.
Laura! Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 It's still backwards for me too. I just checked.
Sanity Loan Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 It's still backwards for me? Do a full refresh on the page (CTRL+R on Windows, CMD+R on Mac)
Fuzz Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I wouldn't know the right tracklist even if i checked.
Alan86 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I wouldn't know the right tracklist even if i checked. C&V is on the cd tracklist, that's how I remember it anyway

Because it's more "fair" or more fun or better or whatever if it's all from the US than if it's all from Japan? Denver, I can understand because of the AAF signs, but for the rest... ugh. Why the US? Why not "all over the world"?
November's Storms Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Well, BIAB was in the UK and AAF is in Japan, I guess its the band trying to distribute their releases across the world. Assuming that regular album releases favour the USA.
Fuzz Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Depends. Does it all go to Green Day, or does the record company take a substantial cut? If it's option two, I'll just download the tip jar image and keep going to shows. We'd tell people it goes to the band, but then keep it all for ourselves.
Metanoia Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I'm still thinking about skipping the first 2 lessons or something to go buy it exactly on 22nd (whatever day it will be for germany) mmmh...
