my God you are all so touchy! I was just getting feelings off my chest!

get to the point, don't stop at the language, should I put a parental advisory next time? the critics on marketing were about the choice of the venues, not the choice of the songs. they should just have been more! it' s not a mission impossible ... look at other bands, pearl jam just to give you an example.

A self - defined biggest rock band in the world (and I agree on that) should be balder

Touchy? Its disagreeing, and yes if you are criticizing my favourite band and a big part of my life, then yes forgive me if I get a little irritated.

You're opinion is never going to be taken seriously if you don't show a bit of respect for others posting here, even if they disagree with your point of view.

And making it a double disc album would mean no DVD. Making it a triple disc (2CDs and a DVD) would mean it would be really expensive, so I'm quite happy they didn't.

No matter what Green Day put out, there will always be people unhappy with the track listing, its just the way it is =/ They could put every single song they played from the whole tour on the dvd and cd, and still people would be unhappy.

I seriously think its because being on GDC, and with the internet, we all know whats been played at at each show. I think that's why people expect more, I certainly seen it with the setlists when they were on tour.

Im just really happy they're actually doing this to be honest. I didnt see them live on the American Idiot tour, so it'll be amazing to have this new dvd/cd and remember all the fucking amazing times I had from the 21st CB tour

1. It's "bolder". If they were "balder," Rob Halford of Judas Priest would be their lead singer.

2. You said that you wanted a 40-song live compilation album. Trust me, you're not the first person in the thread to raise that complaint. It wouldn't have happened anyway, because double-live albums haven't sold well for twenty years or so. Look at major acts today--how many of them put out 2-CD live sets? Virtually zero. Most people buying music are casual fans these days, and most casual fans don't want a 2.5-hour, 30-song excursion into the obscure back catalog songs that only the hard-core fans of a band would know. They want a little over an hour's worth of old hits and new songs that they know. Warner would have had to invest considerably more time and money into mixing an entire second CD, and it probably wouldn't have sold as well as AAF will anyway.

The point everyone's trying to make is that you can express your opinion without starting by telling whoever happens to be reading to fuck off. The point I'm more specifically trying to make is that we are lucky as fucking ducks to have gotten the rarities we're getting, and we're even luckier that the CD isn't just an audio rip of the DVD. Most big bands these days would've given us only the big hits they played (which, for GD, would've meant some 21CB songs, some AI songs and Good Riddance), and the CD is created by putting the finished DVD into a computer and recording the audio (not literally, but you get the point).

If you have an issue with the tracklist or the venues, fine. I'm sure a lot of people are cheesed off that half the live album didn't come from their show. There are ways to say it that don't involve coming off like a twelve-year-old whose parents just told him that if he didn't finish his meat, he couldn't have any pudding. I mean, seriously, how can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

Oh please he was just saying fuck off to the setlist! Not everyone has to love everything, he's just disappointed and stating his honest opinion. Leave him alone

You can dislike something without being a baby about it.

Well I think he has some valid points :P. Although personally I'm happy with the setlist overall.

oh God yes! thank you! that was not referred to anyone here, I hope at least that was clear .... like when you read something and your first comment is just FUCK OFF! y' know?

but anyway, more or less you all reasonably said that a double cd+dvd would have been usuccessfull for selling, so you agree with me that we are talking about marketing, and a choice like the one I am supporting is bolder, which is what I experct from green day, especially when "somebody" says <<tons of songs>>

and both the guys and warner can face that effort. before i mentioned pearl jam as an example, that was related to this, look here , how cool is that for a fan? and how much do you think they earned from that?

just think about it. if they really wanted to do something awesome as fuck, they could.

I agree we should be allowed to vent...he was not being disrespectful of GD just letting out his frustrations....kinda what Green Day is all about...isn't that why we all love Billie and the boyz so much?

Your sig pic is killing me.:wub:

YES MY TWO GIGS ARE ON THERE.

Pasalacqua and letterbomb from chula, and burnout from irvine. There are tears in my eyes. I'm remembering exactly how It was.

For the most part I am pretty happy with the setlist, but I am a little dissappointed. Not because my show wasn't on there, I am just a little dissappointed at the fact that they didn't put the same songs on both albums like they did for BIAB. For example, I think they should have put Cigs and Vals and other songs on the DVD that were also on the album--I guess it doesn't really matter, it's just my thoughts. To be honest, I am really happy with the setlist though, I just thought it would be better to put the same songs on there so we can experience their physical presence being there, as opposed to just listening to it on a CD.

~ Sorry for the super long rant for nothing..

Don't you live in CA? they put all of our shows in there...

Yeah I do, but the only one I went to was the one at the L.A. Forum......but anyway I don't really care if it was at my show or not, I was just saying that so people wouldn't think that I was dissappointed at the fact that it wasn't at my show.

True, but for me what I noticed first and foremost was the childish and argumentative tone, that would immedeatly shift my view of whatever a person is actually trying to say.

Anyway enough about that. As Darren said, not seeing them on the AI tour meant they was no personal connection to the gigs, this one is going to seem a lot more familiar and give me that warm, fuzzy "I was there" feeling

Ahhh I went to that one too. It was amazing. I went by myself. Don't like inglewood.

This is so true. I love watching/listening to any Green Day gig but this is gonna be extra special because of that. Gonna bring back some great memories.

On the flip side of that I didn't get to see American Eulogy on the tour so I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing it on this :woot:. Next best thing to seeing it live.

Now, considering what we could have gotten, would anyone else like to complain about the songs we did get?

THIS!

I wish everyone would just be thankful that we're actually getting a live album and leave it at that. =/

I for one am totally happy with the tracklist of both the CD and the DVD.

Very true also! As great as Minority is, I've seen it live twice and we have the BIAB version of it, I'm glad they replaced it with AE for this album. Plus, Mike getting a bit of the spotlight is always nice

I agree. At first I was a bit disappointed by the lack of Minority, but AE is so much more rare, you know? So now I'm more glad we're getting that. I still would've liked Minority one at least one of the two, but its perfectly ok without it.

Did I mention how psyched I am for Viva La Gloria? I fucking love that song

It's funny, cause as days go by, I'm getting more and more excited for this, specially for the songs on the DVD that I didn't get to experience live. I'm dying to see pro-recording of The Static Age and American Eulogy, specially AE because it's such a fast song to sing, but at the same time it's so much fun to sing-a-long to.

Also, I'm having the hardest time ever to NOT go to youtube and search the tracks from the CD. The ones I'm most excited about are 21CB (cause it gives me the chills when I listen the live version), C&V (because it's a proper recording, and not a bootleg), Pasalacqua and JAR.

March 22nd will be awesomecakes (see how I'm avoiding to say AAF ), plus I'll have a new HD TV which will make this whole thing even better :woot:

I kinda hope they include the pink bunny on the DVD. Y'know?
