I wanted Homecoming, Brat, 1000 Hours, 80 and 86... But they didn't include it.

So what? we have fucking awesome tracks on this CD (Holden Caulfield, J.A.R., Christie Road, Paper Lanterns...). We should be happy what we got. Simply because it's amazing :)

I was hoping for more rarities. I don't even know why I got my hopes up high.

I'm really sad there's no Before The Lobotomy :(

I really like the gems on the CD, but why would you only include 17 songs, when Green Day play 40 songs a show. Doesn't make sense..

Because you can't fit 40 songs in their entirety on a CD

2 CD's.

It wouldn't be the first time that has happened.

this. so much.

actually to be honest, the CD could have just been Quebec City, and I would be floating in a cloud of joy.

Yeah. :( I love that song.

I'm glad that they chosse some of the older songs, 'cause they are amazing. But I find it weird that some of their most popular songs aren't included.

I'm sure they didn't expect us to find out that THAT jump is currently not on the DVD.

They put it in the trailer just to mislead the fans and make it look ever more awesome and make them buy AAF! But we aren't just fans. We are hardcore! :woot:

Agreed. That setlist was unbelivable.

Too expensive on Warner's side. And that cost would be passed onto us. Not that I'd have a problem paying for that.... I'd love to have two CDs. BUT, there would have to be a custom case that would hold three discs (yes, I know, it's been done before... I know).

No, F.O.D or One for the Razorbacks

Yes - they should have included FOD from Toronto - but only because I requested it :P

Of course he is!And I want him to play the guitar in almost all the songs!

But I'd like one or two songs when he leaves the guitar and just freaks out :D

Yeah I agree. I feel like they've left out too much of the fun and silliness, the hilarious little traditions that are so important to any Green Day show. Gonna come across as much more serious than a Green Day show really is.

Since American Idiot came out it seems they always try to downplay the silly, fun elements of Green Day and market them as more serious than they really are. It's always annoyed me.

Ohh I didn't thought about that.. I also wanted it in there. I was hoping for VLG to be in, and it is actually twice lol Maybe they could have used Gloria in the DVD only, and then BTL in the CD. But I'm happy for VLG anywayy :whistle

I'm going to guess that's in correlation to the seriousness of the lyrics of the last two albums.

from 2010?

my bud Sarah who was next to me on barrier had an FOD sign that Billie looked at before playing it

must have seen both

so much this. gah.

the sillyness of GD's shows (and the uniqueness that then gives to each show) is alot of the reason why I bloody travelled around the planet following the tour.

:pinch:

Yeah, I didn't thought about that... But it really seems that way, non GD fans don't really get what IS Green Day nowadays.

Well, Awesome as Fuck is a pretty silly title, so is the cover. Also, everyone already saw King For A Day in BIAB, so they know about that side. Silliness is one of the best characteristics they have though.

Well I think that there will never be a perfect tracklist, and that this is pretty much as great as we can realistically expect :D

Both the CD and DVD are balanced.

Of course there are a bunch of songs I'd love to see on there as well, but I am really happy with the way it is now. I was expecting something way disappointing, so this was a very pleasant surprise.

The silliness of Green Day is great obviously and I love that about them, but it might not come out that well on a DVD, especially if they put it in there just to have it in there. It's a pity it's missing, but for the amount of songs we're getting, I think they did a nice job picking out the songs.

Besides, we know about the silliness and there are countless videos of it on youtube.

I'm actually glad KFAD isn't on the album/DVD. Its too long and gets boring after the first listen. To be honest, I was even bored with it when I saw it live. I actually sat down for a few minutes of it.

That's not what I mean though. Of course the serious parts of Green Day are important (and moreso with their last two albums), but they do still have a LOT of quirkiness and silliness and humour going on too, especially in their live shows. But often when the band's promoted the serious parts are given extra weight and the silly parts are downplayed. In reality they're a mix of both but they're portrayed as more serious than the reality.

When they cut out pretty much ALL the "fun" songs, it just doesn't give an accurate impression of the band or their shows.

What I really want to know is the dates for the tracklist - like 'London' could mean 2009 or 2010 (I'm assuming Wembley, but that's just an example), and there are a few other shows that could be from either year.

I'm personally hoping it's all 2010, but that's just me being selfish.

THANK YOU for saying that. I wish everyone could understand that.

Sure, there are things that I wished to have on the CD that aren't on there. But I'm not throwing a fit and about it.

Oh really? Maybe it was a combined effort. He looked over at where I was and pointed at my sign and then said something about taking requests and walked around for a minute and then played it.

Alright, now I get what you're saying. And I agree, the silliness hasn't been advertised at all, and for the most part is being left off of the CD (we'll have to see about the DVD and if there are behind-the-scenes stuff.... you KNOW there will be goofy stuff in that).

But who are we to care about advertisements? We know the band's silly side and we love it. We don't need Warner marketing it for us to know about it :)
