Katarina. Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 It seems like Green Day didn't actually have much say in the choosing of tracks from the DVD. It seems like it's been geared to appeal to the masses, rather than the hardcore fans. That's exactly what I thought. The CD tracklist is pretty good, totally different from BIAB, but the DVD is kind of the same. They could choose from so many other shows with way better setlists, yet they chose to put these songs on the DVD. Oh well. I know I'm going to love it all anyway. Oh, and I see no backstage footage? Too bad as well.. You know that part with Tre in the trailer.. maybe that's just right before they go on stage.
Ingrid Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 King for a Day is on bullet in a Bible, Last Night on Earth is pretty boring. Would have liked Waiting or When It's Time. I think 2 acoustic songs is fair as they usually play just three. I know KFAD is on BIAB, but seeing as it's such a big part of their show and how it's changed so much since the AI era, I think it should've been on there. Besides, I have my own personal reasons for wanting KFAD. But I do understand why it's not on there, it takes up a lot of time, I just don't agree with the decision of excluding it. LNOE being boring is just a matter of opinion. I think it's incredibly beautiful live, and much better than the studio version, but yes I would also have preferred When It's Time. And if they were gonna use only two acoustic encore songs I don't see why they had to choose WMUWSE, which is also on BIAB. Oh well ... Fair points! It's still just my opinion though
Beathe. Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'm disappointed that they didn't take songs from more countries, there's no need to have two songs from Austria and England. Why isn't When it's time on the cd? That song is so beautiful. And I wanted to see Tré dance.
GDJonny Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 To be fair they have nailed it, apart from 1 thing! ...theres no Nice Guys Finish Last!
Beathe. Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 To be fair they have nailed it, apart from 1 thing! ...theres no Nice Guys Finish Last! That too. It was awesome to see live.

It's still just my opinion though Yeah I love King for a Day and its great live, wouldn't have argued but not too disappointed. Yeah suppose, Last Night on Earth just puts my fire out too much. I suppose WMUWSE is acoustic on this one, but Christie Road, Blood Sex and Booze or Redundant acoustic would have been fantastic but probably asking for too much after getting Burnout, Pasalacqua, Geek Stink Breath, Letterbomb, Paper Lanterns and 2000 Light Years Away. I wonder if Christie Road is acoustic or not though.....
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 My main concern is do I fit the bonus tracks into the middle of the setlist on my iPod or put them at the end. As insignificant as that is , I think I'll fit them in somewhere to make it more like the setlist, Letterbomb after Gloria and then the others after Holden Caulfield. Still so delighted that's on it, genuinely didn't expect it! I wonder if Christie Road is acoustic or not though..... It's electric, Billie-Joe plays up to the first chorus solo though.
Katarina. Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I find it kinda stupid they have bonus tracks and iTunes exclusives. I mean, they could've just put them on the normal tracklist, right xD Letterbomb and Christie Road (and Paper Lanters/2000LYA) are too great to be bonus tracks.
November's Storms Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 There was such a massive selection of songs they had to pick from, and they were never going to please everyone. Considering this I think they've done a good job overall. Plus I've always wanted to hear versions of the oldies with high quality sound and Billie's vocals now, this is as close as I'm probably going to get with songs like Holden Caulfield and Pasalacqua
Greenday_Aussie Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 No JOS on CD? What thy Fuckith? Brisbane is on the CD!
NoManCanEat50drumsticks Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'm a bit disappointed there's nothing from Italy...and Europe in general...but no matter anyway! they're so great! XD And finally we got it!!!!!!! I'll love it as usual
GDJonny Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Some of the comments on the GDA post are pretty stupid. Just a bunch of people pissed because they didn't get Basket Case and KFAD; I mean come on, haven't we heard enough of those two already. Give some rarities a chance. And Longview was sung by the fans on this tour (which l liked but, I'd rather not have that on the DVD/CD). Oh and...quite a lot of South Americans are pissed Oh well, i'm really happy with both setlists
EvanAsFuck Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 No JOS on CD? What thy Fuckith? Or you could just rip the audio from the DVD... Or if you don't know how then you could probably find it online (illegaly) from someone else who did it... No JOS on CD? What thy Fuckith? Or you could just rip the audio from the DVD... Four. Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 We've got something in Montreal ! I'm so happy, really. I didn't check the rest of the setlist that much, but I did spot some rarities and I'm glad they put some
November's Storms Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'm a bit disappointed there's nothing from Italy...and Europe in general...but no matter anyway! they're so great! XD London, Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin, Berlin, Nickelsdorf (Austria)
Anja Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 ok, basket case is definitly missed, but it´s great that there also some old school tracks Definitely, it's weird to have no Basket Case for some reason even though it isnt even my favorite track or so. But I'm really happy that they included so many old school song. Overall, I'm 50/50. Some things dissapoint me a bit but then again, I'm happy we're getting a DVD/CD at all so I dont wanna complain.
Vaso.Of.Suburbia Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Finally we have the Tracklist! And yeah, there are some rare ones Burnout, Going to Pasalaqua, JAR, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield and Cigarettes and Valentines -of course- Well the DVD tracklist was predictable. But I have to admit that it's a really pleasant surprise that there aren't Longview, BOBD and Basket Case in th DVD/CD! Well I like Longview and I ADORE BOBD and Basket Case, I know that they are classics, but come on, we have heard so many live versions of these songs! It's time for some oldies and some rare ones! I don't like the fact that there are many 21CB songs, but as we know, this CD was recorded during the 21CB Tour, so, whatever! Also, we were going to go on a school trip on 3/22, and when I read the news (that the release day changed from 3/15 to 3/22) I made them to postpone it
Nickofsuburbia Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'm fucking disappointed. There's nothing from the show I was at, and the DVD setlist is awful. Why would they cut out more than half the show? its to be expected for the DVD as it was a 21CB based tour but the stuff they cut was stuff that was either on Bullet in a Bible or is on the CD as audio The excited and dissapointed with the setlist. I like how there's a lot of old stuff but some of my favorites are not on there. St. Jimmy, Brain Stew/Jaded, Basket Case. Still going to be a great CD/DVD though all those were on BIAB and they didnt really change much between the tour albums (other than Brain Stew which had the medley before and THAT is what disappoints me about that) but overall great setlist i think (SHE! CHRISTIE ROAD!) im just mad that they put a version of Holden Caulfield on the track listing without Davey Havok i think that woulda been a cool thing to put on the CD
JordayC13 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 okay i really don't want to piss anyone off by saying this but i need to say it. Few people like the new setlist. I think we need to stop complaining about what should of been on it, what is on it, and what countries should of been on it. We just need to accept the fact that this is the setlist and there is a small chance that it is going to change. Some of you do make good points as to why did they chose Tokyo, but who cares? it is Green Day. So it is going to be Kickass no matter where each songs was recorded, where the DVD was recorded. So lets get pumped for this shiznit!!!!
Karen. Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I think it's great, the CD in particular. Not going to think about what's not there, but concentrate on what is. Looking at the setlist, it's impossible to be disappointed! Also, was thinking that even though it's not on this, at least we should be guaranteed that St Jimmy will be performed at all future shows! I presume Holiday is from the O2 show, rather than Marley. But if it was from Marley, it could have that Saints are Coming interlude? Wouldn't that be nice!
Jacob. Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Maybe someone with Wikipedia knowledge may be able to add the cover photo to the Awesome as Fuck Wiki page.
NoManCanEat50drumsticks Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 London, Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin, Berlin, Nickelsdorf (Austria) You're right ^^ but principally it's for Italy, France, Czech Republic, and the others...but we cannot have them all...i know Apart of this i'm very happy of this release!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Guy Called Kill Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Lets be honest, they were never going to get the "perfect" setlist. They would have to create 50 different albums for purchase to get the right one! I would have loved Waiting from Wembley and Platypus but i still love the setlist. Really surprised by JAR! Can't wait to hear it.
fadi_7 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 it have some good songs and some are awesome songs but the strange thing is that basket case and BOBD are not in the track list!! there is lot of good songs that they are not in it!! but it's still great!
