placenta Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Happy with the setlists, both for the DVD and the CD, even though it didn't include any of my 6 shows on this tour ...but the cover? Well, I hope it grows on me. The first thing I thought was: "Uh yuck, is this the new live album from Sum 41?" (that being said, I don't like Sum 41 at all, the cover just gave me a weird Sum 41-vibe).
MCC Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 oh I mean since they just put Gloria instead of Viva La Gloria! but yea Viva la Gloria? is better I think I personally love Viva la Gloria! more than Viva la Gloria? Mainly, I love the intro to Gloria! I am really excited about the cd tracklist! So happy that Dallas made the cut!
Tre_Gina Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 setlist looks great but no basket case but it's good to get some rarer songs.
Cym Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 FUCK YEAH!!! I'm so glad Phoenix made the setlist! It looks awesome, I can't wait until it comes out!
*punxx Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 yessss, who wrote holden cauldfield´s on the track list! damn that´s cool! it´s my fav old school song
Punk-tastic32 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Nothing from the Singapore show?!? ... No surprise there. Good to have the track list out now though. I was kinda hoping for songs from more international shows, oh well. But why, oh why, did they put songs like 21 Guns, BOBD, and WMUWSE on there? Those slots should be occupied by some of the stuff that sounds really, really, good live. *ahem* NGFL and Minority...
November's Storms Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 What a fantastic way to wake up and start the day! I think we fucked up by mentioning anything to you guys. No it doesn't really matter about the tracklist or whatever cos yeah it is still gonna be the same when it comes out. But you can hardly expect people not to guess and give their own opinions? Sure it got a little repetitive but things really weren't that bad that you feel it would have been better to hide the info from us. Just saying "Gloria" kinda pisses me off. Yeah me too. So so glad we got it though! No King For A Day and Longview SUCKS! King For a Day is the biggest on stage tradition they have going, it's absolutely integral to a Green Day show. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING OF? I'm not that upset about it. We've already got it on audio and video from BIAB, plus it goes on for a good 8-9 minutes which can be used for other songs. Maybe the lack of South America has to do with the fact that those were the most recent dates, played when AAF was probably already in production. I know it's nothing personal, because by all accounts the SA shows (and fans) were fantastic. Maybe they didn't bring any recording equipment with them, just like they didn't bring the stage lighting background? I hope they include the intro to Gloria: YES Dai was saying (and I agree) that there's plenty of songs on the DVD that are kind of unnecessary, like Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams (which I personally think is a fucking boring song, even live) and Jesus of Suburbia. Those are all great songs and whatnot, but we have them on Bullet in a Bible. I doubt they've changed much, and even if they have, why not use that space for other songs we haven't seen live before. It seems like Green Day didn't actually have much say in the choosing of tracks from the DVD. It seems like it's been geared to appeal to the masses, rather than the hardcore fans. Holiday in BIAB didn't have the bang bang explosions during the breakdown, which I'm looking forward to hearing this time. But yeah I think BOBD and When I Come Around could have been left off. Two slow to mid tempo songs that sort of kill the energy in my opinion. Great songs recorded, but live, not so much. aaaaand while I'm a bit bummed that the only Aussie show was from Brisbane (one of the shows I didnt go to), I'm happy for them right now, because it's the best news Brisbane is going to have for a while, with the massive floods going through there. Yeah I think they need something to cheer them up right now. Things are so bad, its crazy.. Wow, did they seriously misspell Pasalacqua? And I felt safe in going to bed thinking it would be another day or so before we got it after ask you. Oh well! Dublin. I wonder which show it's from! I agree with most people that the dvd is kinda disappointing, but I'm so happy AE is on it! And the CD is way better than I thought it would be. Hopefully Marlay
*punxx Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 well maybe they put gloria on the record because it was the first song they played live from 21stcenturybreakdown during another show?? I don´t know, they didn´t play it in vienna...but I think it´s okay that there isn´t king4aDay on it, cause it´s already on BIAB... wooohooo, I just so looking forward ro AWESOME AS FUCK!! love this live stuff
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 OMG OMG OMG They fucking nailed it! OK nearly nailed it, they shouldn't have left Letterbomb off the main tracklist but it's a download! I will be buying the record and illegally downloading those "iTunes exclusive" ones, fuck Steve Jobs he can go die of cancer right . I literally can't believe how perfect it is. Don't care about the DVD too much, it has pretty much what I expected. But the CD  Holden Caulfield, J.A.R and Going To Pasalacqua, but no Basket Case or Boulevard Of Broken Dreams? I'm sorry but you can't seriously say the suits chose that one. And that's the thing I am most delighted about. Almost forgot: GLASGOW's ON IT!!! FUCKIN YEEHAAA!! March 21st for us in Scotland then, will have to save up a bit as The Strokes 4th album comes out the same day, no idea what I will listen to first.
*punxx Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 ok, basket case is definitly missed, but it´s great that there also some old school tracks
gloria123 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 It's a great setlist!I can't wait to hear burnout but I'm a bit disappointed that there's no video for cigarettes and valentines Plus now everyones happy that it's not all from tokyo!
james.england121 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Glad there's no: Hitchin' a Ride, Basket Case, Are the Waiting/St. Jimmy, Longview, Basket Case, Brain Stew, Minority, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and King for a Day, as they're on BIAB I'd realistically swap 21 Guns and Gloria though for Murder City and Nice Guys Finish Last. But overall, really happy with the track listing. DVD could be a bit better, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed and it'll be played hundreds of times.
Ingrid Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Overall, I can't help but be pretty disappointed in the tracklist. I don't very much agree with their choice of songs, and like everyone else, I really wanted something from my shows - and it's not like I was expecting something from Ullevaal really, but only ONE song from any of the shows I went to? And I now realize that 'London, England' doesn't even have to mean Wembley, so there might be none at all. But that's just me being selfish, I'll get over that part. But I can't for the life of me understand why there's no more acoustic encore songs, on the CD at least? I mean, not even When It's Time or LNOE? That, and the lack of KFAD/cover medley is the biggest downsides in my opinion. I was really hoping for a recording of Hey Jude from Wembley - that was so incredible with all those people singing! And Waiting should've been on there. And the confetti! Since it's in the trailer, I hope that means they had confetti during American Eulogy or something since Minority isn't on the DVD. Only thing I'm really excited about, is Gloria on both the CD and DVD. They wouldn't play it when I requested it in Paris (but started playing it from the next show on, the bastards! lol), so now at least I get to see a proper recording of it. Edit: oh and the cover looks like it was done in less than two minutes in Photoshop. I honestly thought it was a fake when I first saw it..! That is such a letdown after the BIAB cover, which is the best they ever did in my opinion.
Katarina. Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I was hoping for more rare songs/rarely played songs/a song from Pinkpop/KFAD with shout and the covers, but all that aside, that tracklist really is awesome as fuck! OMG, Viva la Gloria, Cigarettes and Valentines, Burnout, Going to Pasalacqua, JAR, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?, Geek Stink Breath, Letterbomb, Christie Road and Paper Lanterns/2000 Light Years Away :woot: And I can't wait to see the Static Age and American Eulogy on the DVD. Well, the whole thing actually. It's gonna be great. Although I still gotta say that I'm still a bit disappointed seeing there's only one CD for this. I thought they were really going to put a lot more songs on this, as in two CDs. I can't believe there's no Waiting, Last Night on Earth, 1,000 Hours, Before the Lobotomy, Redundant, Whatsername etc. They also didn't put the "Awesome as Fuck" version of Good Riddance on the CD, right? When Billie Joe sang that line. That would have been perfect. Ah lol, now I'm all I LOVE THAT-But I wish they added that-BUT THAT'S AWESOME-Why didn't they add *name song*
Devan Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Yeah, JAR from Michigan! This is going to be amazing!

Would have liked Waiting or When It's Time. I think 2 acoustic songs is fair as they usually play just three.
Ingrid Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I just want to add that as much as I'm disappointed in this right now, I know I will enjoy the CD/DVD when it's released. Probably even love it - it's Green Day after all. But I just think they could've done better on this, and released a live album that truly lived up to the name they have given this one. But obviously, there's no way they could've made everybody happy no matter what they did; I just think they could've tried harder, in this case... Basically just by adding more songs (especially to the DVD), and perhaps by choosing songs from more varied countries/continents.
blitzkriegdeb Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Wow.......that setlist is pretty bland imo. Idk, there were so many excellent songs that got played on this tour, I was expecting a more exciting setlist.

I can't believe there's no Waiting, Last Night on Earth, 1,000 Hours, Before the Lobotomy, Redundant, Whatsername etc. Yeah, your second line is awesome! Would have loved Whatername, Redundant or Waiting. But I think 17 songs is pretty good considering BIAB is 14 (I think), 2 CD's would be amazing though. Loved the choice of bonus tracks! Mainly gutted about no Nice Guys Finish Last. But the track list is still awesome. I just want to add that as much as I'm disappointed in this right now, I know I will enjoy the CD/DVD when it's released. Probably even love it - it's Green Day after all. Basically just by adding more songs (especially to the DVD), and perhaps by choosing songs from more varied countries/continents. I think one main problem is length with DVD's and CD's. I'm sure the DVD will be about 2 hours ish. More songs and a better choice for DVD would have been good though.
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 To be fair, Waiting is on Tune In Tokyo, which you can find without too much trouble online. KFAD has been done on Bullet In A Bible. I agree about the acoustic encore needing one more but at least Last Night On Earth was pro recorded last year, we always have that recording. Whatsername live in Chile is pretty awesome quality too. Not arguing with you or anything, just saying these have been done and fairly recently. I think that the two of them (Bullet In A Bible/Awesome As Fuck) along with some other picks from the live EPs released will make a pretty good playlist Nice Guys Finish Last is the only song I am missing from my request list, but even though we've had plenty official/soundboard recordings of 21 Guns already they were never going to miss that out. As for Hey Jude, it was my highlight from Wembley, as being in a crowd singalong to Hey Jude that big was definitely on my bucket list and since I missed McCartney playing Hampden Park the same night it made it even better, but I don't think listening to it on the record will be quite the same goosebump-inducing experience Plus with getting extra copyright for all the cover songs would be too much hassle.
Karol Oliveira Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'm a little disappointed. There's no song from South America, especially São Paulo!
