Sanity Loan Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Now no more guessing will be done. We have the number of discs, the track-list, cover art, release date, locations, etc.
Velocity Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 FUCK YES WHO WROTE HOLDEN CAULFIELD FROM HOLMDEL
EvanAsFuck Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Dammit, just noticed there's no King for a Day!!!??!?!?! That sucks, I was really hoping that would be on there... I love the live version so much with the medley in the middle! Well anyways, I'm never getting to sleep tonight!
decca Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I love the setlist, but can't help but be a little disappointed that there's nothing from a show I was at. Denver and Costa Rica were both fantastic shows, and I'm surprised they didn't include either of them.
XxRedundantCastaway86xX Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Oh my fucking god look at all the awesome old rare songs on the CD - 1. Burnout 2. Going to Pasalaqua 3. J.A.R 4. Who Wrote Holden Caufield? 5. Geek Stink Breath 6. Christie Road (digital/itunes) 7. Paper Lanterns (digital/itunes) 8. 2,000 Light Years Away (digital/itunes) Plus we get other songs like Cigarettes and Valentines, and Letterbomb, and every other song on the album which is great too. This album is going to fucking rule, a perfect mix of new and old material.
Doris The Spider Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Where the fuck is Drama Queen? When they played that at Pittsburgh, everyone was like, "WTF?" They should have put it on there.
AndrewW91 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'm pretty sure when the DVD comes out I'll have to rip the audio so I can make a CD of that aswell.
CaseyStead Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 No King For A Day and Longview SUCKS! King For a Day is the biggest on stage tradition they have going, it's absolutely integral to a Green Day show. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING OF? I think basically, it's been done. They don't want this to be just another version of BIAB. It's more of a celebration of Green Day's now 20 years+ career, with a great set of their latest and earliest tracks, with a few rarities (i.e. Cigs and Vals, non-single tracks from Dookie and stuff from the Lookout records). My personal thoughts: I'd say the CD has great songs, but could do with some more, and the DVD is a bit average. I'm sure that some of you will be dissapointed that there's no South-American content, and I'm upset for you Overall, quite a nice package though. I'm pleased with Cigarettes And Valentines, and Geek Stink Breath but I'm annoyed that some of the best stuff is digital download only, and not on the physical release. That ALWAYS bugs me. P.S. I really like the artwork And wow, this must be my first post on here in months! For me, it's something really worth talking about Also, this: This album is going to fucking rule, a perfect mix of new and old material.
alaniluau Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Fuck yeah Chula Vista. Each show is phenomenal, but they were ON that night.

Sanity Loan Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'm pretty sure when the DVD comes out I'll have to rip the audio so I can make a CD of that aswell. Better yet... rip the Blu-ray for better audio
Whatsername1911 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 JAR from Detroit....I'm gonna fucking cry
AndrewW91 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Better yet... rip the Blu-ray for better audio Good idear. But I won't buy the BluRay until much later, more likely.
LouLou Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Aww March 22? I was excited to have it for my birthday, which is the 16th. Track listing is freaking amazing though!!!
luvgirlcl Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Holy crap! It's for real this time! I thought that it would be a longer CD, though...and nothing from SA? Really? I was hoping at least for Whatsername ( ), and when they say 'Gloria', they mean 'Gloria!' and not 'Gloria?', right? And look at that, no Basket Case I hope that 21CB comes with SOTC in there. AND NO ST. JIMMY? AND NO KING FOR A DAY? I see what they did here. Almost everything in here it's what wasn't on BIB (besides the respective 21CB tracks), so they tried to make this into something that's not an updated version of Bullet in a Bible. Smart, really smart. *clap, clap* And I'm buying this, obviously.
EvanAsFuck Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Better yet... rip the Blu-ray for better audio Wait, do we know that it's gonna be released on Blu-Ray also? I thought we didn't know that for sure?
Hermione Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I know! I kinda understand why they kept off Longview, though. I couldn't really see them putting a random fan singing a song on there album, even if Billie did claim that person was "the best all tour". The least they coulda done with KFAD was put on the cover medley. But, overall, I'm pretty happy with the track list. Though I was really hoping for Minority. It just seems like they really pushed the boat out for KFAD (and Shout) with this tour, adding new stuff and making it bigger and bigger and more over the top. They worked on it and improved it more than any other song, it was a huge highlight of every show. As usual with anything 'promotional' that Green Day release, the fun, silly and quirky elements of the band (in this case King For A Day, getting someone to sing Longview, and Hitchin A Ride) get cut out or downplayed, leaving them portrayed as less fun and more serious than they really are. It's always puzzled me that they're marketed in this way, I don't understand it.
Sarabeth Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 No Denver That's exactly what I was thinking.
Whatsername1911 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 DETROIT BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so fucking happy!!!!!! thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW RIGHT!!!! I wish they'd include the medley with it
alaniluau Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Maybe the lack of South America has to do with the fact that those were the most recent dates, played when AAF was probably already in production. I know it's nothing personal, because by all accounts the SA shows (and fans) were fantastic.
captain peroxide Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'm fucking disappointed. There's nothing from the show I was at, and the DVD setlist is awful. Why would they cut out more than half the show?

Smart, really smart. *clap, clap* And I'm buying this, obviously. I'm pretty sure I have that bootleg, it's pretty awesome quality. That version of Whatsername is my favorite version ever. I listened to it on repeat like 246 times last night. I DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT ST JIMMY! Frick. It just seems like they really pushed the boat out for KFAD (and Shout) with this tour, adding new stuff and making it bigger and bigger and more over the top. They worked on it and improved it more than any other song, it was a huge highlight of every show. It's always puzzled me that they're marketed in this way, I don't understand it. Yeah. Maybe they want to keep that stuff for people who actually go to shows? I don't know. I would've liked for it to been on there, especially with the time(s) the whole band went through the "I Want You To Know" part, with all its hilarity.
CaseyStead Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Wait, do we know that it's gonna be released on Blu-Ray also? I thought we didn't know that for sure? The CD / Blu-Ray edition is here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IE0G58?ie=UTF8&tag=thegredayaut-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B004IE0G58 I'll probably get that.
gdpony Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'm really really happy with this, so much better than I expected now I hope this thread won't get flooded with people bitching about the tracklist ¬¬
