jos_whatsername Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I hope American Eulogy's on the DVD, I'm still bummed I never got to hear that live. Minority probably won't be on it again so it probably has a chance Yeah good point, but in the trailer, i saw the confetti for minority i think ? but it wouldn't be very clever to put it on there again, though i really love minority it live . oh i heard american eulogy during my first show, not knowing how lucky i was at that time
AndrewW91 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I'd say it's either-or to be honest, that's how it is in the live shows anyway. If they get rid of Minority they have room for something else! I'm pretty sure there's confetti during American Eulogy too Well, if they do choose just one, I hope it's American Eulogy. I just want the confetti!
james.england121 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Green Day never let the fans down, so I can imagine the setlist will be AAF.
The Snark Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Watch, they're going to post it at 12:59 pm. I can see it now: "Hey Tre, check this out?" "What's up, BJ?" "The guys on GDC are absolutely freaking out about the tracklist!" "Holy shit, Mike, get over here, this is fucking crazy!" "Yeah, no kidding!" "Hey guys, I have an idea." "What's that, Mike?" "Don't release the tracklist for a week or so, but leak out every day that it's coming that afternoon." "Holy shit, you'd send GDC off the deep end!" "I know, won't it be funny as hell?" I was thinking the same thing, but with the people over at gd.com.
AndrewW91 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Yeah good point, but in the trailer, i saw the confetti for minority i think ? but it wouldn't be very clever to put it on there again, though i really love minority it live . oh i heard american eulogy during my first show, not knowing how lucky i was at that time So did I! There was a black lady next to me, and I was scared to sing the song, cause I thought she'd like beat me up for singing that one part. But, she didn't. Me and her were rocking out. It was awesome.
Ellenkc Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I'm the opposite, I think Minority will be one of the definites. Its always been a fans favourite and Mike has said its his favourite song to play live. I'd bet 1,000 loons that it will be on it. Ooh that's a steep bet I'm just hoping they get rid of some of the BIAB tracks to make room for other songs, granted Minority would be a fairly big song to drop.. Hopefully both will be on! Do ya think JOS will be on it?
AndrewW91 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I think Minority is my favorite live song of all time. I love the 3 hour long "Hey oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh".
idc Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I think Minority is my favorite live song of all time. I love the 3 hour long "Hey oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh". ahaha i kinda hate it, especially live. don't even know why. always so excited for the confetti xD
petros Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 ^I really really hope JOS will be on it! I also want American Eulogy and Minority! But we can't have them all So I'd say I want JOS and Minority more.
AndrewW91 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Not exact but very close. Made by me I made a wallpaper for AAF with that same image like the day it was announced. How strange. But we can't have them all Or can we?
.Brian Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 ahaha i kinda hate it, especially live. don't even know why. always so excited for the confetti xD i have to agree.
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Between Minority and American Eulogy, I would always pick Minority to be on the DVD. Now, I haven't seen either live, as in me being there, but from hours of YouTube watching, it wouldn't seem right without Minority. A Green Day live DVD without Minority would be like fries without ketchup...or something... I wish we could have both, but I don't think that's going to happen.
Tubbie Head Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Green Day never let the fans down, so I can imagine the setlist will be AAF. They sometimes do let me down in terms of set-lists and other thing... The singles choice xD
Ellenkc Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 As has been mentioned, the trailer has confetti, so that's Minority. American Eulogy only had confetti in Phoenix, Chula Vista, Shoreline and the first show of the SA tour--also the only times it had a guitar fanfare at the end. Why? Because Minority was dropped from the set for those four shows, and AE became the grand finale instead. After having several months to consider it, I actually prefer the AE ending to the Minority ending. I just feel like AE's a more energetic song that holds its pace better than Minority, which is always slowed by harmonica solos, lengthy goodbye speeches and band introductions. It's possible (but unlikely) that both will appear on the DVD. In shows where AE ended the main set and Minority ended the first encore, AE was played without confetti and with a cold ending. In that instance, the tracklist would probably be 21 Guns, AE, American Idiot, *maybe* JOS, then Minority. I think it's more likely, though, that the DVD will go 21 Guns, Minority, American Idiot, JOS. Which is kind of unfortunate, but hey, it's not like Minority is a bad ending in any way. It's still awesome as coitus. Yeah, I just figured there would be confetti because AE was where Minority usually is in the setlist for the first show, but I didn't notice they switched JOS with Minority that night so the confetti went off at the end of the encore, not before it. I'd say it's a toss-up between JOS and AE for the DVD now, which doesn't look good for AE Minority was played both nights in different slots, so I guess it's a definite. Oh I won't be complaining, I was just hoping they might switch around the setlist a bit more from BIAB. Minority's a great song, but I was just hoping for Mike to sing on a DVD!
November's Storms Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Ooh that's a steep bet Do ya think JOS will be on it? Glad you got the reference! I hope so, and yeah I think so. Now all this is only my opinion, but I would love another live version of JOS. Although 9 minutes..it wouldn't be a massive shock if it was left off.
AndrewW91 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I'm guessing one will be on the DVD and one will be on the CD.
jos_whatsername Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 i don't really know why everyone's discussing about if they'd like american eulogy or minority better right now..

A Green Day live DVD without Minority would be like fries without ketchup...or something... I wish we could have both, but I don't think that's going to happen. I think I would choose American Eulogy, 1st 'cause I think it is just soooo damn powerful live (I saw it at the sound check, and even in the sound check it blew my mind), second, they don't play it much live, and it would be awesome to have a good footage of it (The visual effects are amazing too). Third, Minority is on BIAB! Played in so many live shows, we already have that one on the World Stage. But y'know, I can't complain I love both, they are equally awesome live!
farley drexel hatcher Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 American Eulogy is epic live. The end - with the band just harmonising and the music faded out - is definitely a stand alone moment. So yeah, I would love to have it on the DVD, but Minority needs to be on there too. Hopefully what we don't get on the DVD, we'll get on the CD.
AndrewW91 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 i don't really know why everyone's discussing about if they'd like american eulogy or minority better right now.. Because it's a forum. We discuss things.
idc Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Not exact but very close. Made by me that looks awesome, i would love that! mike in the foreground is awesome!
Laura! Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I would love to have American Eulogy on the DVD! Like everyone said, it's such a good live song. I seriously don't know why they took it of their setlist for the 2010 tour.
purplebenny Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I don't think he is the one who is holding it up. Warner as always holding up our damn info:) here's hoping some track from Dublin will feature on the CD.. hmv in Ireland have said that they expect a 2 cd plus DVD to be released on 14th March here. so that mean's 15th UK and U.S:)
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Damn, there were like three new pages and a bunch of posts made in the last couple minutes and I got sorta excited thinking something new might've surfaced and that wasn't the case and n'awwwww.
