Just checking, was it definitely his show using the song, rather than the radio startion using it in the promo?

If so, this is totally disturbing and needs to be exposed in a segment on The Daily Show!

You have a good point. AI was playing in the background of the commercial in which only Beck was talking. I'll try to check with the local radio station and see if they will tell me if they added it of it it was in the promo itself. =/

Oh, like Glenn Beck isn't Fox News' plaything already. I'd watch his show for the lulz, but that would, y'know, require that I watch his show.

Well, I would have to say I disagree. He IS notable, because of his influnce. He has a quite large amount of followers who accept anything he says as truth, and that's scary. Sure, he's most likely manufactured, but because he is the one saying and doing these things, he's the one that's gonna get debated, not his manufacturers.

Oh, and I love how you made a point of saying all of these posts are pointless, except yours.

I still have not determined if he is playing this ~Mormon savior~ role, knowingly deceiving people, or if he believes his own line of shit. Both options frighten me. =/

I don't want to turn this into a bashing party, but Doris, I really am dazed and confused: how can you support this guy?

I think even if Glenn Beck didn't talk about politics, he would still be one of the most irritating creatures on the face of the earth. The fact that he DOES talk about politics makes it all the more horrifying.

Don't forget, he talks about religion all the time too. =/ That only makes it worse.

And, just when you thought it couldn't get worse than that, he talks about both at the same time, and uses them to justify each other. :pinch:

Have you seen his stand-up act? It made be a christian. In that I became convinced I had died and gone to hell.

He is right about a lot of thing and he is just trying to get the truth out. I don't believe he makes up anything. Most of the time he gives facts, but he gives opinions too. He is saying things that need to be said, but also things that people are afraid to say. I will admit he goes overboard sometimes, but for the most part what he says is right. At least from what I've seen.

*prepare to get eaten alive* :pinch:

I'm not going to eat you. I'm not hungry.

I will say that, in my opinion, I feel bad for you for believing the majority of what that man says. And that people believing him is one of the major problems affecting the current partisan divide in this country.

But you're entitled to your opinion :) Even if I disagree. Plus I give you kudos for standing up for what you believe, no matter how ridiculous :P

Well, thanks, I think. XD

Well, on a better note, based on the clip that the Daily Show just aired, it appears the song is used in the new documentary Waiting for "Superman" to show how while kids in the US fail at, well, everything, our students are the most confident

In all seriousness - There's a great Jewish proverb I came across awhile ago that I think touches on Beck/Palin/Gingrich/Boehner and any of the rest of their ilk:

"A youg man asked his rabbi to define a truly wise man. The rabbi said, "any dummy can be right 50% of the time. A wise man is right 60% of the time. The great and learned Rabbi Mintz from Russia was right 75% of the time. However, if someone is right 90% of the time, it is very suspicious. And, if someone is right 100% of the time, you should avoid him like a plague."

I'd like to think (with 60% certainty :) ) that what this country needs to recover from the ineptitude that began in the 60's, was made worse in the 80's and 90's, and got pushed over the edge in the last decade is a long, slow reallocation of *trillions* of $$ away from Wall Street, war, celebrities, and sports/entertainment (political talk shows included) and back into where our priorities have needed to be for so, so long now: education, infrastructure, energy, and manufacturing. Doing this, especially while the national debt is through the roof, will cause such great pain (*especially* for the economic class that bankrolls the politicians) that all the politicians can hope to do for now is kick the day of reckoning down the road for someone else to deal with -- all while promising that they're 100% right and "if only the other idiot would stop getting in my way" we'd be back to feeling good again in no time, and with no unpleasant consequences. This is what Glenn Beck likes to call leadership? Dunno about you but I call it BULLSHIT.
