whowroteholdencaulfield? Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 I'm not sure, Holiday, Hitchin' A Ride, When I Come Around, Walking Contradiction and I guess Warning.. Redundant is great too!
Nobody Likes Cam Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 I'd probably say Longview (for an old song) or East Jesus Nowhere (for a new song). The video for Longview is clasic and it really shows who Green Day was back then, a band of friends making the music they love anywhere. It is a little funny, like when Billie Joe attacks the sofa and coffee table and the monkey. Longview is an amazing song (it reminds me of like an anthem for teenagers, I dunno why) and it is an awesome way to just wrtie about doing absolutely nothing in a high-powered, energetic way. On the other hand, East Jesus Nowhere is also an amazing song, it is really kick-ass and it makes you wanna jump up and down and scream the song at the top of your lungs. The video (I dunno if it's official or not) is so much fun to watch and it shows the energy and action of a live Green Day show. It has a montage of Billie Joe saving children (and a man taller then him) and using a toilet paper gun. In my opinion, there are my favorite singles.
Hermione Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 i'm surprised to know that welcome to paradise is a single ! I didn't used to know that either but it was indeed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welcome_to_Paradise I think it's a lot less well known than the other singles off Dookie because it didn't have a proper music video, just a live one. Pretty cool video though: I'd probably say Longview (for an old song) or East Jesus Nowhere (for a new song). The video for Longview is clasic and it really shows who Green Day was back then, a band of friends making the music they love anywhere. They're my two favourite Green Day songs full stop so they're my favourite singles by default. Not much of a fan of the EJN video, I wish they'd made it a proper single with a proper video to do the song justice. But LOVE the Longview video, it's perfection.
