farley drexel hatcher Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 So much for the last four years of saying "We're not actors, we'll leave it up to the professionals." What the fuck man. That's exactly what i'm saying. Which makes me think he always wanted to do it, deep down, and just felt he couldn't admit it.
Rock Tie Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 lipstick made out of blood !!? now i really want to see that i can't imagine billie playing st.jimmy..
manilla Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 it's so unfair that only a really small part of people loving them would be able to see this..
Supermodel*Robot Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 That's exactly what i'm saying. Which makes me think he always wanted to do it, deep down, and just felt he couldn't admit it. I'll admit, that I want to see it. I want to know how he pulls this off. But...I'm just kind of sick of this whole musical thing. Yeah, I saw it and I loved it, but I don't like how it's completely hijacked their entire career and image.
oda Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 So much for the last four years of saying "We're not actors, we'll leave it up to the professionals." What the fuck man. he DID play a part in that show haunted once though. Guess it's still different from a musical.
norcalgreendayfan Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 it's so unfair that only a really small part of people loving them would be able to see this.. Yeah it is but lifes unfair that's something I know all to well

It could be awesome. But at the same time it feels a bit like it's taking control of green day and I don't really like the thought of that. That said, it will probably be over next year, so maybe he's just making the most of it while it lasts.
Samma.Wamma Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Part of me just wants to laugh, but the other part really wants to see this...
solongfromthestars Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I'm a bit fed up with the whole musical thing too, but I guess Billie's going to make a really good job of it. And if he doesn't he can usually make embarassing things look cool.
*withoutadoubt* Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I don't know, I just don't picture him a very St. Jimmy-like. "Aggressive" isn't really what I mean, but it's the best word to describe it. I just could picture him better in a more "normal" role like Will or Tunny (more Will than Tunny). St. Jimmy, I think, is mostly there for the contrast. Sry, I can't really put it in words. I've been thinking about it this way - when he performs the song 'St. Jimmy' live, he kinda transforms into the character of St. Jimmy (or another part of himself-however you wanna look at it). He gets this super-intense look on his face and just stands there - sometimes for a long time, too, like he's in another world. As far as doing a good job at it, I don't think he'd do anything as serious as this if he didn't have the complete confidence that he could pull it off. I think he's been 'practicing' the roll for a long time, imo. The St. Jimmy character on B'way doesn't have too much dialogue, most of it's singing, which I think is perfect for him. I am looking forward to seeing the way he carries himself on stage - this kind of stage. St J is a big presence when he appears - I think BJ is gonna blow the audience away!

When I first read the newsletter I thought that was some kind of very late first of April joke. Ah, I see. I think Will and Tunny are like, emotionally more complicated roles. Probably harder for him to pull off than St. Jimmy. Not that Jimmy's a simple or shallow character in any way, but well. sorry, this is a bad post, I hope no one takes it the wrong way.
Harinezumi Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Haha, that's going to be awesome, I wish I could see it.
veroPasalacqua Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 OH MY GOD. XD Knew it before, but GOOOSH! What the f..? I WANT TO LIVE IN NY !! :woot: Ohhh hope,we can see it in videos or sth. like that GOSH,IM SO EXCITED!

Look at his performances on stage, especially as The Rev. "Normal" is not a role I'd place him in.
sampy Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 This is exciting news! I would love to see Billie acting the role of St.Jimmy ! Y'know it's his masterpiece and he can do it if he wants and I believe it would be freaking awesome and funny at the same time! And yea he was in Haunted and Chris Isaak Show, but this is musical, and Billie is an music artist. Even every person in AI-cast isn't so great imo.. Don't judge everything right away.
Slappy. Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Why oh whyyy do I have to live in the UK?
Annie, get your gun Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 It's going to be very funny and interesting, but i'm still asking myself: and when the fuck are Mike & Tré going to take part of this??! But it's not big deal to me anyway, i can't see the musical, so have fun people who are going! take tons of pics and share the experience! The only good thing i expect from this, is maybe, possibly, Billie would (and should) have his hair black again.
Tubbie Head Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 this whole thing made me laugh so much The 1st tweet and then this one  I am not really imagining what he is going to do... I mean, is he going to be acting, or just playing guitar/singing.. Omg Its'going to be so goood. REALLY FUCKIN' HOPE SOMEONE RECORDS IT

I wish him luck
LouLou Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I would love to go and see this just cause I can't picture it in my head. If I wasn't already going to be outta town, on those exact dates no less, I would find a way to get there.
