The GDC Wallpaper Calendar 2011

Thanks to everyone here for thier want to contribute! We will not be choosing months yet so all the dibs are useless

After we compile a list of all graphic designers, helpers and Ideas we will start choosing months. The possibility of making more than one calendar is consistently increasing.

Should we decide on different themes we can allocate to calendars.

I suggest one random one like last year's and another witha specific theme such as 2010 in review or a month for each album or maybe one for the side projects only or maybe one about the musical. Idk? Any more ideas?

Having a physical calendar is slightly impossible but if there is anyone here willing to take this responsability just tell me.

-Shipping

-Collecting Money

-Sending them to a Charity

are just a few of the promlems he will have to deal with soooo......idk

it's really not that difficult to sort out: look at the calendar made for this year, use it as a general guideline, share your ideas for your design and listen to thoughts and inputs, design it and post a rough. Get some feedback and post a final copy. In both widescreen and full screen format.

I agree with Jaymee, we shouldn't make it more complicated than it really is, one calender the same way as last year because that worked out pretty well I think.

as for making a physical copy to be sold, i think this is a brilliant idea but dont know how you would go about it ? mabye ask if it could be sold via the official website with profits going to charity?? i dunno

you could sell a download version set up a paypal or something??

FYI

you can't sell these calendars or make any profits from them because the images we'll use for the calendar have copyrights and you have to get permission from the photographers first.

there's nothing wrong with just having people download the calendars and use them on their computer for personal use. If people want hard copies, they can print it themselves.

Yeah, that's what someone else said, I think That's why we're going to do a .zip file with all months and use it as our wallpapers only

Yep As much as the charity thing would be nice, we are really not allowed.

I think the best way to make a physical copy of the calendar, is simply printing it out yourself. Selling it for charity or whatever will be expensive and nearly impossible. So yeah. I prefer to have the files only on my laptop anyway, but that's just me.

Oh, and since the Network's album came out in September, I'd love to make one for that month too. Well as long as I can make something Network related, I don't care which month is the best one

11 designers...and my design skillls are not to shabby either so i'd love to do a month. 1 calendar complete....more designers please and also someone who can get a list of all the GD dates and feasts worth putting on the calendar, a proofreader maybe. At any rate we can do multiple wallpapers each month
