Chad is Rad Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I want a studio version of this song, now! I'm tired of the crappy live versions from youtube that I've been listening to.
Isabel Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 why? I even love Stay the Night for than Cigarettes and Valentines Because it was unique for us in Dublin. No one had heard it before. That's why I want to be greedy and keep it for myself
Bastard of 1967 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 someone - I think it was Bastard_of_1967, whom I affectionately call "bastard," ... at least, he thinks it's affectionate ... said this should be the song of the month, and I took that literally). All is forgiven at least as far as this here bastard is concerned, I am three weeks behind on listening to the podcasts myself and I really really want to hear this week's!! Can't tell you how bummed I am that I missed y'all for the talkbacks a couple weeks ago.......and if it wasn't for my sister getting married this weekend up in Maine I'd be in NYC again to see St. Billie in a HEARTBEAT!

bollard_11 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Just something I noticed the other night, the lyrical theme of Cigarettes and Valentines and Stay the Night seem pretty similar to me. The first line of C and V is "I don't want to go back home, I don't want a kiss good night" and this to me relates to Stay the Night as they seem to both be songs about being with your significant other, and how hard it is saying goodbye to them even for a little while. Could it be an indication towards the general theme of the next album, or is it in fact just a complete coincidence??
Just Kate Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 well, not bad at all. considering a fact it's my first listen to it lol. sounds kinda old school. like it has nothing to do with 21CB album. not bad at all

Wasnt it around then that Billie and Adie were having problems, or am I getting my eras mixed up? I'd love to know more about Stay The Night - I asked Jason Freese about it but he didnt really seem to recognise which song I was talking about. but he did remember the group of fans during soundcheck at Marlay Park
mygeneration13 Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Sounds like 1039 days. Good, good stuff.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 well if Stay The Night is actually from the same time as C&V maybe they are related lyrically. Wasnt it around then that Billie and Adie were having problems, or am I getting my eras mixed up? Thought that was in between Nimrod and Warning, but I'm not sure they also had problems around C&V. Anyway, that's funny, I never realized how the songs are lyrically related/similar.
