Rock'n'RollGirlfriend Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Oh my god, this may be tough. I mean, it's September, and it's an anti-cancer, and we all know what the two relate to. I might cry if it's something like "WMUWSE"... I'm actually really curious about this if it's just Billie.
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Oh wow, the day his dad died of cancer. Billie's such a great person for doing this. I hope it's just him alone, doing something acoustic. I wonder why the rest of the band isn't, the article only said Billie Joe. I hope he does WMUWSE, it's perfect for this. If it is, though, I might start crying. That song was one of only two songs that ever brought tears to my eyes...
mallorymaloney Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Man, Billie's September is going to busy as hell. Maybe he wants to keep busy so he doesn't have time to dwell on his father's passing ...
LinziLetterbomb Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I can't wait to see this performance. It's really brave of him to perform on the anniversary of his father's death! I just know that i'm gonna be crying my eyes out.
AndrewW91 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I might have to cry if he does play Wake Me Up When September Ends..
Moffie Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Maybe he wants to keep busy so he doesn't have time to dwell on his father's passing ... Well that's just depressing. But I'll watch and hopefully convince my mom to donate since she owes me money.
Rosie May Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 It's gonna be weird if it's just Billie by himself, I don't mind though, I hope he does do WMUWSE, it would be really appropriate.
BringMoreKnives Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Awww Billie, you wonderful man, you
farley drexel hatcher Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I don't think his dad's passing keeps needing to be brought up ... I know it seems relevant and most likely is but it's something really personal that doesn't need to be thrown around.
BillieJoe21st Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Man, Billie's September is going to busy as hell. No wrong It's Going To Be "Ho As Hell"!!
Vrock09 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I had no idea that the 10th was the day Billie's dad died, and I believe he also died of cancer. If he plays WMUWSE,.....................
AndrewW91 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I don't think his dad's passing keeps needing to be brought up ... I know it seems relevant and most likely is but it's something really personal that doesn't need to be thrown around. I totally agree. It's sad and all, but people are making facebook groups and everything..it's kinda weird.
Mar Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 George Clooney AND the Beej? Yes please :eyebrow: :eyebrow: This is a really good event, I'm glad to see he's getting involved in it.
gdpony Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Charity is always great and Im really excited about this performance, maybe it'll be a duet or something.
Peace and Rainbows Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Charity is always great and Im really excited about this performance, maybe it'll be a duet or something. i'm down for it, as long as it isn't with justin bieber
Velocity Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Oh man, the acoustic version of WMUWSE always gets me. My papa died a few years ago from cancer (in September nonetheless), so I'll probably start bawling. Fuck, me too. I just realized this is airing on the 10th, so it'll be exactly 6 months since my dad passed away from cancer. I'm gonna be a goddamn mess.
jenne! Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 i was already planning on watching this and donating - now it will be extra awesome to watch.
1039slappygirl Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Great, can't wait to watch him perform!
blitzkriegdeb Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I don't think his dad's passing keeps needing to be brought up ... I know it seems relevant and most likely is but it's something really personal that doesn't need to be thrown around. This. Don't get me wrong, I understand he wrote about his father's passing and all in WMUWSE, and I'm sending all my heart to him for the performance (if he even does WMUWSE), but I don't know. It was obviously a personal tragedy for him, and I feel like it's a tad invasive to keep bringing it up.
Hermione Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Hey guys I wonder if it'll be similar to this - LOL thanks for posting that, I hadn't watched it for ages. If it was another epic cringefest like that I'd be most pleased Also, this will be happening on my sister's birthday so it'll be a nice birthday present for her
Sanity Loan Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 *crosses fingers* that its not 21 guns Good Riddance would be good, or LNOE LNOE probably wouldn't be very appropriate for a cancer telethon if you know what I mean. But you can't tell the song name from the lyrics so it might be okay. Plus, that would be a kickass song to hear Billie play live, acoustically on TV
ParadoxAndPlaid Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 I'm exited to see this. But Billie preforming alone still makes me uncomfortable. - for lack of a better word.- I understand the reasoning though. It's nice that they get involved in all these different charities and befits so often. It's really great that they care so much.
Hermione Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 We see Billie perform on his own at the end of every Green Day show. Not much to be uncomfortable about
JadedHaushinka Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Hey guys I wonder if it'll be similar to this - Immediately after reading the content of this read, I was also wondering if it's gonna be something like that. Hadn't watched it for ages, though.
jacknovella Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 I'm really hoping it'll be a solo performance by Billie Joe, instead of a group. Either way, I'm excited to see it
