lizziebix Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Lol no I though this was the gd reference thread. I'm so retarded No worries. Just thought you'd like to put it in the right thread!!
Kitteh Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I can't look at this thread without thinking about kid rock -_- Get in the pit and try to love someone! *nerd*
Dry_Ice Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I've only been to two arena shows... and he's never let/asked for people in seats to come down into the pit. So, I guess I can't help you And then third show I saw, was a festival.... so of course, no seats.
Kitteh Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Yeah both the Alpharetta and Nashville pits I've seen have been rather huge. So there wasn't much room to add anyone else.. Maybe the pit area was just small so it seemed large? I don't think I'll ever sit in seats at any show, ever again. It just doesn't feel like you're there. Or maybe I'm the only one who feels dumb hopping around and singing in front of a chair >_<
unabrasiveadhesive Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 In the Toronto show everyone was standing the whole time even at the lawn and seats so I guess it didn't natter. It was like one Huge pit without the pain
Boston Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Billie invited us into the pit at the Mansfield show, but not at the Hartford show. The pit in Mansfield was much smaller and less full than in Hartford, though, so I'll bet that's why he did it. Best of luck to you. Green Day is the one band that I go nuts trying to get right up against the barrier, so I understand your pain. It totally sucks seeing a show from seats. Its almost not even worth it.
Kitteh Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Yeah I saw the AI tour for my 15th birthday from seats. It was amazing but I wasn't PART of the show like this last time (even if I couldn't see much). I haven't sat in a seat at any show since ^
SixtiesJunkiie Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 with that luck (all 41 shows being pit even though two of them were originally seats) i'm thinking you'll get into that pit! and yeah, i refuse to watch green day from a seat. i FIND ways to get into the pit haha.
kelly42fox Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Be glad you're seeing a show at all I'm not sure how many times i've seen Green Day, 4 maybe 5? At this point, I'd be content if I had a seat, it doesn't really matter to me. Awww, Andres... I'm sorry you didn't get to go! I hope your leg gets better soon!!!
Radioactive1 Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I'm sure you can cope with a seat for one show. I've seen them in a seat once and I enjoyed it. Not as much as when I'm at the barrier but I wasn't getting squashed, didn't feel faint, didn't have to queue for 9 hours to get to the front. It was rather nice.
Adeline.Hearts.You Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 You've been to 41 shows... ;~; Thats what i was thinking, Wow. Thats beyond amazing.. i could only dream of seeing them, half the amount of times let alone 41!
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Be glad you're seeing a show at all I'm not sure how many times i've seen Green Day, 4 maybe 5? At this point, I'd be content if I had a seat, it doesn't really matter to me. LOL, My thoughts exactly. I've never been to one, and I would honestly kill to even get lawn tickets at this point. But yeah, I've watched ungodly amounts of YouTube live shows, and I've seen him inviting people into the pit, maybe once or twice.
anya. Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 oh man, be happy that you got tickets and that you've actually been on 41 Green Day shows.. remember on people who were never on Green Day and would kill to get the seat tickets just in the back row..
Lauren Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 There was no pit in Homdel, NJ. Davey from AFI told us to go down, but the guards made us go back. but when Green Day was on, the guards didn't bother stopping us. I was standing in the front row in the isle.
Emoolly Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 in Toronto he did twice i think and security was being pretty stupid at first not letting people in then billie yelled at security demanding they let people down to the pit
Jaymee!! Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 The only time I saw them play in an amp was in Toronto, and Billie demanded they get in the pit. And he, as always, ridiculed the security about it. I remember he did it at Marlay Park as well...but that was to just let the public in to watch for free.
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 BWUAHAHAHA yup. Last nights irvine show was empty. And billie told us to get down, so I got in the pit.
captain peroxide Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 We wouldn't have been able to get into the Denver pit, cause it was packed tight, but we tried to rush down to it a bunch of times, and the fucking security wouldn't let us

Did you try when everything was dark? It worked for me last year.
Rock'n'RollGirlfriend Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 The only show I've been to, last year in Tampa, I was front row pit. haha. It was rather squished. ;]
captain peroxide Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 That's what I hate about them. Did you try when everything was dark? It worked for me last year. We tried a lot, but there was one security guard standing right at the bottom of the aisle where the pit was, and another one patrolling up and down the aisle. I mean I understand they have to follow venue rules and stuff, but fuck. Such a buzzkill.

I'm sorry it didn't work out. Hopefully next time.
GDM Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I was lucky last night because I was with someone who is partially handicapped. She asked the security if we could sit in the handicapped area and they let us. Then when Billie told people to come down, I politely asked the guards if I could and they kept saying no, so I said, fuck it, and saw an opportunity to get from handicapped to the orchestra. Was in a seat area for a while, but there were two guards at the top of the pit and two guards about six steps up from them. Then I noticed that there weren't a second set of guards on stage right side, so I moved over there, about 8 rows from the pit and a nice gentleman let me come into their row. I was dancing like crazy during FOD in the same area where that funny Asian guy was told by Billie to get onstage, and a guard lady came over and told me to move. I told her, "I'll do anything you want after this song," lol, and she actually walked away. A couple of songs later I noticed that the two guards weren't really paying attention, and I climbed over some seats and under a rail, and boom, I was in the pit! Saw Kevin Preston with Jessie Malin, said hello, spent the rest of the night about one row from Billie. Good times. If I can do it, anyone can do it. haha.
