I don't get it. Warner always wants to make money and here is a very easy way for them to make money and they don't take it. I think that a good percentage of people who go to the shows would like a copy of that show. I would be fine with just a download and not a physical CD.

Exactly. Concert souvenirs don't get much better than being able to listen to your show anytime you want. I know I'd be more than willing to pay for a high quality recording of last year's Detroit show. And like I said earlier, if all the shows have been recorded, why not just make them all available instead of having a shitload of unused recordings taking up space and collecting dust somewhere? They'd be making money off those recordings, fans would be happy, everybody wins.

I think it would be an awesome idea to have live albums from all their tours. Give the people who went to them a chance to hear it in high quality, and then picking up other shows where rare songs were played.

Other bands do it so I don't see any problem with it at all.

Dude, if they're gonna make a dvd as well they better not put any World Stage stuff on there  No offence, but it's World Stage, it's often on MTV, people have HD recordings of it.....they better put something else that hasn't been released on tv and such on dvd

agreed. i rather watch something that not everyone is able to get from tv. it would ruin the expierence. if they come out with a cd/dvd or just a live cd what do you think the album's gonna be called

that would be just great !! :woot:

Nah, it's not like it'd ruin the experience (I don't see why it would), I'd just rather see they save the space for something that hasn't been released on tv or in high quality elsewhere

that'd be awesome...a new live dvd would be even better :)

I've decided not to be picky. I just want something new! And soon!!

That's awesome! I know like people said, at Linkin Park show's lately you can pay 10 dollars and get a download code for YOUR show and download a mixed soundboard rip with live photography from your show. It's amazing.

Another band that does it nowadays is Trivium. They did unmixed mixdowns from their soundboard of their last US tour. You got a code with every ticket purchase, and then you can buy any show from the tour for 9 .99. It's awesome (But low quality, 192 kpbs)

Wish they would do what Pearl Jam do. Pearl Jam record every single gig (which to be fair most artists record a mix), but on their website they release each idividual gig as abootleg CD for about a tenner, meaning fans can purchase their own gig they went to. Think its a great idea.

Yeah, I guess that's the best they could do! Someone should give them the idea. I'm sure Warner would love it too, since they could make some money! XD

100% agree. It would be so pointless putting the world stage stuff on to a possible DVD. Everyone has already seen it.

This is awesome news and all, and I'd be totally down for a new live album, but one thing they should do is offer the whole show recordings for specific dates through their website (for a nominal fee.) I didn't read all of the thread so I dunno if someone else suggested this idea as well, but all I know is that I'd pay top dollar for a high-quality recording of the Detroit show, and I'm sure a lot of those who went to ANY date on this tour would love a nice "official bootleg" souvenir!

I've seen bands like Weezer, Pearl Jam, Rancid, and Fugazi do this or something that resembles it, and GD could do it quickly and easily too! It's as simple as offering up the show recordings in FLAC and MP3 form, editing/sequencing the tracks together for each specific show, creating a tracklisting and some custom digital cover art - perhaps a pic from the gig (hell, even if it was just generic cover art or none at all, this could be done in a snap,) and posting it on the official site to buy as a download - just like how Stop Drop and Roll was released online two years ago.

I've already @ replied GD/Billie about this on Twitter, but if anyone else is with me we need to carpet bomb them with requests so hopefully they can make this happen! @ replying, possibly Facebook groups and petitions, e-mails, whatever works! Anyone else game?

This is a really cool idea! That way people won't have to feel let down when stuff from their concert isn't on the actual CD :)

I read that tweet and I was just :woot:

Hope it will come out sometime :D And with a DVD

Thanks!

welcome!!

Oh a live cd would be cool...though a dvd would be EVEN better! Actually scratch that a new tour to promote the new cd would be perfect!lol! :P:ninja: A girl can wish!!!

I really hope there will be a live album. That would be amazing. :) Even though it's just a possibility, it makes me happy.

If there was a DVD with American Idiot on they should have the Wembley one with the giant walls of death

This is awesome news! I wonder what songs they've recorded, and what they'll include. Do you think It'll be all new material or some of the classics too?

I don't see them just releasing a live 21CB.

I'd love it if they'd put Letterbomb and Paper Lanterns on the album

My reaction - "YEW!!!!!!"

Fingers crossed that the possible becomes yes!

Yeah, that would be pretty cool. Just on the pure fact to make it more special, and just more exciting that something you get on youtube or as part of some programe on mtv. Not that they don't excite me, but it would just be nice to have some stuff that you have really seen before.
