The Platypus! Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Not getting my hopes up.. really... I promise I'm not. Oh whatever! Christmas time release I reckon? That'd make sense. If it is Christmas time release i know what i want for christamas
jenni Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Great news!!! I almost shouted when I saw this. Let's hope something will really be released.
Li Sa Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 haha i saw it on a fb page...and didnt believe it I thought it was another rumor Maybe I should get twatter...oops i mean twitter then i would know what was tweeted and what wasnt haha. Anyway now I know its real, i'm happy but since its says POSSIBLE i would get excited until they say for sure exactly the same here please let there also be a DVD if they record every show they should release a few like e.g wembley though
Eldoon Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 This is awesome news and all, and I'd be totally down for a new live album, but one thing they should do is offer the whole show recordings for specific dates through their website (for a nominal fee.) I didn't read all of the thread so I dunno if someone else suggested this idea as well, but all I know is that I'd pay top dollar for a high-quality recording of the Detroit show, and I'm sure a lot of those who went to ANY date on this tour would love a nice "official bootleg" souvenir! I've seen bands like Weezer, Pearl Jam, Rancid, and Fugazi do this or something that resembles it, and GD could do it quickly and easily too! It's as simple as offering up the show recordings in FLAC and MP3 form, editing/sequencing the tracks together for each specific show, creating a tracklisting and some custom digital cover art - perhaps a pic from the gig (hell, even if it was just generic cover art or none at all, this could be done in a snap,) and posting it on the official site to buy as a download - just like how Stop Drop and Roll was released online two years ago. I've already @ replied GD/Billie about this on Twitter, but if anyone else is with me we need to carpet bomb them with requests so hopefully they can make this happen! @ replying, possibly Facebook groups and petitions, e-mails, whatever works! Anyone else game?
sassafrasroots_ Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 ooft when i saw this i was like live album! hope theres some from wembley on This is awesome news and all, and I'd be totally down for a new live album, but one thing they should do is offer the whole show recordings for specific dates through their website (for a nominal fee.) Anyone else game? My dad says the exact same thing every time i come back from a gig and i agree. I'd totally pay for a recording of each of the gigs i've been too and i don't see why more bands don't do it, especially Green Day If you think about how many people go to the gig and then would be willing to pay for the recording they could get money from it so i don't see why they don't.

I have mentioned this before, not in this thread though. It is something I'd love to see happen too. Metallica also do this and their also with warner so their should be no problem with warner if Green Day really wanted to do it.

No kidding! When you think in terms of the level GD is at as a band, how revered they are as a live act, and the amount of people who would willingly pay to have an official recording of a show they went to (not to mention people who would pay for "official bootlegs" to hear certain shows for specific rare songs,) the amount of profit they could reel in with the little effort it would take to make it happen is astronomical.
Adeline.Hearts.You Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I hope they have loads of different shows from all over the world! but I really hope they have wembley, and dublin becasue they were two amazing shows!1 Billies red shirt, and mike singing "i want you too know" ..if they made a dvd as well!! This is so exciting!! .. and i hope they throw as many different songs in their for all different albums!! becasue this tour has been so amazin!
JohannaRaeRamone. Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Yes! And a dvd to match pretty pretty please. I wonder if they'll redo any of the songs that were on BIB? They already hit a lot of key songs on that one so I'd reaaaaally love to have some of the seldom-performed songs I missed on this new album.
Eeefaa. Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I totally skipped the word "possible" MARLAY PARK MUST BE ON THIS
Nele Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Why am I not excited? Anyway, hope one of the shows I was at will be in it.

I don't get it. Warner always wants to make money and here is a very easy way for them to make money and they don't take it. I think that a good percentage of people who go to the shows would like a copy of that show. I would be fine with just a download and not a physical CD. Yes! And a dvd to match pretty pretty please. They already hit a lot of key songs on that one so I'd reaaaaally love to have some of the seldom-performed songs I missed on this new album. I think that they will be forced to repeat some of them since they are going to want the new live CD to appeal to more then just hard core fans.
Tubbie Head Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 This is cool. Live albums don't particularly thrill me though to be honest. I like listening to as many live recordings as possible but generally only once or twice each. I've only listened to the BIAB CD like twice in the nearly 5 years I've had it. Make it a live DVD and we can talk yeah... At first when I saw it, I automatically thought it would be a DVD, and then... "oh wait, he didn't say a dvd.. just an album.", And I think a lot of people had the same reaction... so, I'll just pray it is a dvd =) I really hope so, 'cause they don't have a lot of official live dvds, in fact, they only have BIAB, the others I have are not official. So, it would be a good idea for a new release!!

A live DVD would be and But it's cool that this might happen.
Tubbie Head Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 And for the audios, we all can listen to the thousands of bootlegs that appear once in a while in the download links, some of them have a really amazing quality!
Isabel Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 MARLAY PARK MUST BE ON THIS At least we'll be able to differentiate between Marlay Park and all the other shows if it is on it
GuitarPunk94 Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 just got back from school today and read that amazing tweet of the possibility of releasing a Live-album of the actual 21CB tour !!! i really hope that there will be a live cd and maybe a live dvd?? how amazing is that?! mainz 01 07 10 ^.^
Nomis Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Wish they would do what Pearl Jam do. Pearl Jam record every single gig (which to be fair most artists record a mix), but on their website they release each idividual gig as abootleg CD for about a tenner, meaning fans can purchase their own gig they went to. Think its a great idea. But a new live album would be awesome, even betetr if they had say a European Live CD and an US Live CD.
Bubbles. Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 One question..... When??????????????? Well, in the tweet it did say possibly, not definitely... So there is no release date yet.
lizziebix Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I would absolutely buy my shows and a live version. To hear the difference and remember the experience. We could make them millionaires. Oh wait...
GuitarPunk94 Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 just put this into a live dvd of green day's 21CB tour ^^ pls
darenmay Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 if billie said 'live dvd' that would be more more awesome. or maybe the live album comes with a live dvd like BIAB.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 video just put this into a live dvd of green day's 21CB tour ^^ pls Dude, if they're gonna make a dvd as well they better not put any World Stage stuff on there No offence, but it's World Stage, it's often on MTV, people have HD recordings of it.....they better put something else that hasn't been released on tv and such on dvd
