ganis Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 It depends on everyone's tastes in concerts. I'm crazy claustrophobic but I always make an exception for certain bands. Heres a few tips for if you're in the pit: -If you're claustrophobic and you don't like the feeling of not being able to move a muscle, make sure you stay near the sides of the crowd, moshpits don't usually start up there so people aren't pushing as much. -Drink LOTS of water before and if possible during the concert, stay hydrated and your body won't sweat as much. -Make friends with the security guards & tell them your concerns: They just may be able to save you quicker if they are looking out for you. I always do this at concerts. Sometimes they get a say in who gets pulled up at certain concerts, too. Just a few tips to keep in mind. Doesn't work for everyone, but they work for me this. and sit down as much as possible before.. I love the pit. I love how you get so close to the band.. and I love to just jump around and go crazy
jello4president Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Many outdoor venues in the USA(and Canada) have the pit(standing, general admission nearest the stage) then sections of assigned seats above and often lawn seating around the perimeter mostly at the very top(called lawn because it is usually a grassy area where you actually sit on the grass rather than seats). Thanks for that... I feel even more stupid now because I could have worked that out for myself...
Steven Samuels Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Okay, for me, safety is key. I'm in a wheelchair and have Osteoporosis. With that in mind my sanity is also a very close friend of mine. And I could never stay sane if I had the opportunity to purchase Green Day pit tickets and turned them down for lawn tickets. so.... pit, definitely.
JadedHaushinka Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Of course the pit. It's way better to see the band/singer from there than from the lawn seats for sure. You're closer and you'll have an opportunity to get on stage like for example with Green Day if you're close enough. The atmosphere is great there. Everyone dances, sings along, goes crazy, jumps around and all that stuff. It's better to make photos and videos from there as well.
Rachel Nimrod Armstrong Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 PIT!!!!! even tho you might get pushed and shoved around it well worth it cause it's sooo frikin awesome!!!!! soo defo the pit!!
cherrybomb! Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 the PITT!!!!!! The atmosphere is so much better, there just feels like there's more intimacy and intensity, the pitt is the best choice for any gig you ever go too! you just feel so much more involved and part of the moment than if you where seating or on the lawn!
Ally Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 pit always makes me feel ill after like 2 songs, so lawn everytime, unless i can get to front row of course
CoreyGregory Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Don't be a retard. Obviously Pit. If you are on the lawn you don't get the full concert experience. Seriously the lawn sucks
Pedestrian9394 Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Don't be a retard. Obviously Pit. If you are on the lawn you don't get the full concert experience. Seriously the lawn sucks Tell it like it is.
Nele Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 The pit for sure. I was in the lawn for my first concert and it sucked... I had the feeling I was watching a DVD. I actually like being shoved around and I don't really mind the sweating, it's just a part of the whole concert experience.
EvanAsFuck Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 2 words: PIT The feeling of it and the general crowd in the pit is sooo much better and moving around and jumping with everyone else around you is just amazing...
ethanzh Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 In Oslo my dad and i bought seat tickets but we ended up going to the pit
Adeline.Hearts.You Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Every single time the pit .. but you have to be ready for it.. when i saw them at wembley ... we had to stand and wait in the pit four hours before the bunny came on... people missed the show becasue they already .... broke somthing or fainted. In the pit .. peoples hands go every where, and you can feel like your going to faint .. but its all good fun ! but for real the pit is insane.. loads of colse action with the band and billie.... and people look out for ya... apart from the boy.friends who can be dicks.. or just the dicks..who smash you up. i have two scars from the wembely gig.. on my legs.. from being pushed against the barrier so hard. but it was wroth it... i even got bjs devil horns. Plus everything is extra loud.. and its just one of the most crazy fun things i have ever done... i recomend it to everyone...! Every one is dancing singing and going crazy insane, even if you dont want to jump up and down the force of the pit makes you move and jump.. .but watch out for death walls!! .. you can make eye contact with the band, and sometimes if you catch bjs eye he will simle of wink at ya, or even sing to you.
Adeline.Hearts.You Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010  I have to say, I've been in many pits and you did made it sound a little scarier than I would (but you're right). But hey, I'm the alpha in the pit. In the UK, the pits are a little crazier than some of the Stateside shows and I CANNOT imagine the force from the entire aggregate pushing of a filled Wembley floor pushing the stage. Surprised nobody died, I'm always surprised you guys don't kill yourselves. Stay away from crazies with closed fists, anyone wearing a leather jacket, anyone under 12 and over 30 and of course, GET ON STAGE. Live while you're young, (The operative word being LIVE). Hey thanks, yeah the whole joke is . .i t was my first concert ever... and im a girl, skinny and stuff. and i met these three people 2 grisl and a guy! and they were like your crazy.. being in the pit. your gonnna get crushed.. i gto so scared.. but they looked after me, but it was scary at first. I relaly wanted to get up on stage. I was shocked no one died. But loads of limp bodies kept coming out! and at teh end of the show i was in tears.. and i pointed to bj and he shot me back a smile.. best night of my life!!
whatsername..x Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 down in the pit...everytime saying that, I've never actually been on the lawn, just had seats once
Metanoia Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 ive been in both and if you dont wnna get hurt and just watch the show take the lawn. but for feel the concert and green day's energy and what i personally prefer the pit is the fucking best !!!
