Banan Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 one of my favorite songs on Nimrod! But I've always wondered, how the hell do you pronounce it? Because it sounds like he's saying Hishinna or something, but I've heard some other australian guy say "haushinka"
Nickofsuburbia Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 it's so weird that this song happens to be the song of the week because i actually posted a question about it in the question and answers thread not long ago. i've always wondered who she was. nobody's stories seem to add up. in the lyrics i can't help but think that she was important and what he had to tell her was also very important. it almost drives me mad thinking about it. i love this song, and nimrod in general. I think I read somewhere that Billie met a girl in Japan, or some sorta Japanese girl, before Adrienne and he promised to write a song about her. It kinda makes the song make sense like "where'd she go after that?" or "how is she doing now?". thats the story i believe at least...

It kinda makes the song make sense like "where'd she go after that?" or "how is she doing now?". thats the story i believe at least... that's the story i hear most often. lots of people say that he met a girl in japan, but it never adds up because they didn't go to japan around that time. it's just always been something i'd like an interviewer to ask billie.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I thought it was some other Eastern Asian country than Japan... can't think of which one, though. that's the story i hear most often. lots of people say that he met a girl in japan, but it never adds up because they didn't go to japan around that time. it's just always been something i'd like an interviewer to ask billie. He met a Japanese (or otherwise Asian) girl, that doesn't necessarily mean they went to Japan. Maybe the girl left for Japan, and is that why she's all gone now. idk, just guessing here

That Dude Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 This is one of the band's only songs that I just skip all together. Never really liked it. I'll have to go back and give it a listen.

J'net Posted September 8, 2010 Author Posted September 8, 2010 Sorry for the long delay, everyone! As you may know, I've been traveling - on tour with Green Day - and I had massive technical difficulties. I'm home now and SotW is on my to do list for when I get off work this evening. Stay tuned ... .
JadedHaushinka Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 ^ It's okay and I'm glad you could attend a lot of Green Day gigs this year. :] We'll be waiting for the new song of the week!
