iloveyouisntenough Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Good choice. I really do like this song, but it isn't my favorite off Nimrod. When I first heard it, I thought it was quite hard to tell when it lead in from Jinx to Haushinka because of the really good guitar flow!
Rebel07 Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 this song has always been one of my favorites, idk what it is but it just stands out to me i'd LOVE to hear it live

Alan86 Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Love this song, I can't listen to it on its own though. I must listen to Jinx too. I see them both as the one song really
J'net Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 Lol my dad's name is Kaushik...well its got 5 same consecutive letters and a K Thank you! And it is quite similar.
♥PunkKitty♥ Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 This is one of my favorite songs from Nimrod, always has been. It's just great and energetic.
Mrs.Kerplunk Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 not my fave off nimrod but still an awesome song.
Rosie May Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Incredibly underrated song. I agree This is one of my favourite songs from Nimrod. I just love the crazy drum parts and the verses always sounds kind of hippy-ish to me and then it goes into the chourus which is just pure Green Day. I love the middle part the best like others have said, it's just so powerful to me. It took me a while to get into at first but now I just love it.
bjrules Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I absolutely love Haushinka I love how it is so different from a typical Green Day song in the verses, but then the chorus is just unmistakably Green Day. Such an underrated song.
greendaytodeathandback Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Oh my God, was just listening to this song tody thinking about how much I love it. I love the lyrics. Deffinately one of my favourites on Nimrod!!
Isabel Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I think that this is one of those songs which would cause an absolute pandemonium outbreak if it was played live Lyrically it doesn't do a lot for me; but musically I really love it, it's one of my favourite tracks from Nimrod. My favourite part is the "Waiting for you, waiting for you NOW!" line and that amazing guitar riff that runs along after it
Empty Laughter Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I don't know why, but it's one of my favorite songs lyrics & the music fit so good; love it. I'd love to know the story behind this song.
Hermione Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Great song! You can definitely tell the lyrics were written in the past but they fit just right. It's a yearning, unrequited love song straight from Green Day's early days but at the same time "now she's all gone" - it's in the past so it becomes a nostalgic song. It fits nicely into that retro, old fashioned element of the album. It's charged with emotion, those wistful "what if?" feelings, and the driving music exaggerates the highly charged mood of the song even more. I love how the music builds up with so much power, that and the way it's 'joined on' to Jinx really gives the song a feeling of epicness. I think if it'd been recorded for Kerplunk it would've been a good song, but it wouldn't have been anything remarkable. On Nimrod they took it to another level and made it a truly epic, unique song.
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I love this song. I think it's one of, if not the, best songs off Nimrod. It really added to the sort of experimental style of Nimrod, I think. There's just something about it . . . it makes me happy and sad at the same time. I heard it was about a girl Billie met on tour in Japan. . . idk though
NowhereBound Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 dookie demo version is so much better than the actual one. love the bass line on the demo! I agree it sounds so much better.....but the actual one is really good too.
Boston Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I really don't like this song. It doesn't seem real to me, and I agree with J'Net about the sound bothering me somehow. In my opinion, the whole Nimrod album makes no sense in relation to the songs on the album or to any other Green Day albums. It doesn't really fit in with their progression and growth as a band. I don't know, it just bugs me...
Matty_EFC Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I still think the little bit near the end is weird becuase it sounds like Walking Contradiction, and its really obvious as well
