Whenever I read it over, though, it feels like something's missing. I guess I can't put my undying love and gratitude and respect for the band in words. Oh, well, I tried. There's a bunch of good avatars on the GDA, if you want to use them: http://greendayauthority.com/avatars/index.php And sigs, you can just write whatever you want, or put in a picture, according to the regulations it says on the page where you edit your sig. (You click on the drop-down arrow next to your username, and click my profile, and there's an 'edit my profile' button in the corner, you click that and there's a list on the left hand side that includes 'my avatar' and 'my signature'.) So I'll put 'Member of the Words We Might Have Ate: Letters To Green Day project' and then link to the website and this thread. Yeah, I'm good at writing reports and factual things, but I'm not so great at expressing my feelings. Especially in two pages Thanks!

But it's not just because we have an unquestionably awesome taste in music, or because we know how to mosh. We're a group of dedicated, passionate individuals who, despite holding completely different personalities and life stories, somehow share common ground through these three guys from California. Ask a true Green Day fan why this band means so much to them, and all too frequently you get this answer: "They changed my life." The songs, performances, and even the quirky personalities of the trio have inspired amazing stories from fans like these, and each of these stories deserves to be told. This is what we're trying to do. ETA: The goal, ultimately, is to create (via self-publishing or some other nifty means of technology), a book and/or e-book that, as GDC member Arian put it, is like a "way cooler PostSecret book", something that can be appreciated by the Green Day fan community. If a petition to get Stephen Colbert to host a rally in DC can get thousands of hits in a few days, I know you guys can get a few more recruits for this project!

I mean my advice would be to write what you feel. If their music/personalities actually inspired you to do something or gave you confidence to be yourself, write about that. Their significance to you works just as well. Basically anything but love letters or irrelevant information works. Check out the website and read our intro, or my "sample" letter that I posted on the forum there, if you want!
