Hermione Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 I get everything single thing prepared way in advance like a military operation because I'm a stress head. The food and drink and everything else I'm gonna bring and the clothes I'm gonna wear, all planned long in advance and laid out ready to go. And then go to bed at 7pm so I can wake up at 3am and get the earliest train. I don't like leaving anything to chance when it comes to a Green Day show! I did jump on a train to London for the Foxies with, like, NO notice and no preparation though. Stressful! But it all worked out perfectly anyway.
Katarina. Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Like a week before the show I listen to Green Day's music all the time, starting with their first album and so on. Then around one or two days before I start thinking what to wear and what to bring with me, as in what kind of bag (I can throw away), food, drinks and things like weird sunglasses for Billie. And going to bed early of course. But most of the time I end up getting things or changing my clothes at the last moment
st.idiot Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 I will be staying up the night before with my best friend, and we will be cranking Green Day all night and dipping every food item in Nutella before consumption. nutella is. AHMAHZAING
Holly Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Make lists of everything even slightly involved. Jump up and down and go all squeemish and cry-y at the thought of it and how excited I am. Countdown the days/hours/minutes/seconds even when its over one hundred days to go. Plan out everything for every single possibility. I also make plans of when I should drink in accordance to when I'll be able to use the toilet and what the latest time is I'll allow myself to drink before I actually go in but I never carry them out, I just end up sipping my drink a lot to try and keep me hydrated but not need the toilet. I basically just plan every little detail and check it over a million times and then don't actually need any of it.
Undómiel Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Haha, I don't drink anything and go to the toilet about a gazilion times cause I'm so scared I'm gonna need in the middle of the show AAAAAnnnndddd... queue for AGES, eat rubbish whilst in the queue (McDonalds - I love you), pack about six different outfits and stress about which one I'm actually going to wear (I know it's trivial but to me it's important), listen to all 250 Green Day songs on my iPod with my best friends and most importantly get completely over-excited at least 100 days before the actual gig and annoy everyone with talking about it for ages...
coghlan351595 Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 pretty much listen to every green day song and watch other concert videos to pump me up for it.
OverjoyedAndroid Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Well, I just went to my first concert last night, and I basically just sat around muttering like a crazy person coming up with the idea of a perfect concert in my head. When I got there, I had to wait outside, so I listened to the soundcheck, recorded some stuff, and when Billie said something random that I could hear, I would reply. It was funny because he said "I said Ay-Oh!" during the soundcheck, and I said it back, and he kept going on with that with me screaming it back, and at the end I could've sworn I heard them laugh. Basically if you're close to the band you make an awesome poster, and if you're on the lawn, bring decent binoculars(I was on the lawn and I took my best binoculars and when Billie Joe pulled his pants down I had a close up on it! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!)
Smoothed Out Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 spray my hair green without ruining my clothes and attempt to stay calm and collected it never works though
siobhan409 Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Sleep out in the street the night before, talk to everyone til 4 in the morning, try and get some sleep, get woke up by security at 6 in the morning. Dont drink too much water because if you need to pee and you spent 26 hours queuing to get to the barrier the is no way in hell you are going to get back to the barrier. But you also don't wana pass out. Its all tacticsOh and Green Day and Redbull are not a good mix.
bollard_11 Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Nothing at all. It's not a huge life changing event, it's just a gig

And yeah, totally agree with the water thing, luckily so far I've never needed to run out to pee, but I am proper gagging for a long drink after the show!! Your tattoo's awesome by the way!!
coghlan351595 Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Really? I actually start listening less as the shows approach so I'm not burned out. Well I dont listen to green day as much as I used to anymore. I like finding new bands and listening to them.
SixtiesJunkiie Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 i prepare a few days in advance, listening to every single album.
NoVaCaInE! Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 make endless lists about anything and everything. Exactly. And I usually spend the time leading up to it freaking out over various things. Basically I cant relax until Green Day are on stage

Get scary flights by myself, the mean man I was next to didn't even let me have the window seat!! What the hell! Haha. I second that flying on your own is crap. Especially when your 'gig hungover' and the plane is full of screaming kids. Then walking round paris on your own getting leered at by horrible men. The things we do for our band
mallorymaloney Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Nothing at all. It's not a huge life changing event, it's just a gig ... Does not compute.
