BJWolf Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 That bitch is just jealous she didn't get to go to broadway.
Bubbles. Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 It's obvious by now that I don't care for the musical and it's cast getting so much more publicity than Green Day. I mean honestly does Green Day even exist in the public eye any more with the cast always fucking with their tv performances. I think this is part of the reason that 21st Century Breakdown's promotion wasn't as good as it should've been, it's like the AI musical stole the limelight... I do like the musical, but that's the truth of it.
CaesarSalad Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 mental anguish? puh-leeeze. she sounds like your typical spoiled-brat wannabe actress.
mad hatter. Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 She needs to take a deep breath and calm down.
FannyDefoe Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 does she claim that she's suffering by getting too much publicity? well....if she's an actress ...isn't getting attention an aim of any actor/actress? than by suing them she gets even MORE publicity...I hope she won't die of it the things that they didn't have the rights and stuff is understandable... but I dunno... I think it's very strange
ifmemoryserves Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Weed's lawsuit alleges that producers misappropriated her identity and likeness and caused her emotional distress by blasting her image in its promo campaign. WHAT. I think someone needs to take a deep breath and relax.
Angela. Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Complete and utter overreaction, tbh. Sure, she has a right to sue if her image was used without her consent, but it just sounds like she needs to chill out.
captain peroxide Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Severe mental anguish? Fuck right off. She's exaggerating so that she has a legal case.
Supermodel*Robot Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 caused her severe mental anguish, manifested by headaches, sleeplessness, anxiety and stress. Are you fucking serious? So your face was in a couple ads. Chill. She's just trying to bank in.
Vrock09 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Wow... Well only further proves the point that we are a nation filled with greedy idiots
tapdancingowl Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 This is a clear case of unwarranted self importance.
Smoothed Out Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 hmm I don't know what to say really she's got a case I suppose with the permission thing but seriously..mental anguish? at seeing herself on tv? yeah it must have been a shock but if she didn't like being seen publicly acting why did she ever go into the musical in the first place? Well, I think that part is definitely a slight over-reaction
Hermione Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Producers, directors, casting agents, managers, blah blah blah, from her perspective, might. And I can totally see some asshole producer mentioning that her image is in the show but she wasn't "good enough to make" past the preview I hadn't thought of that. Taking that into consideration it sounds like she's doing the right thing to me.
JohannaRaeRamone. Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Overkill. She should calm down. I see where she could have a case, but is there some negative enigma attatched to American Idiot? I don't think I would be pissy and ashamed about that. Unless she got replaced in the Broadway show and that's why she's touchy... Did she chose not to go to Broadway? Wow... Well only further proves the point that we are a nation filled with greedy idiots As if we needed any more proof... Well at least she's not suing McDonalds for making her fat! (Not that she is)
Fuzz Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Completely over the top. How can your photo being on the stage cause mental anguish? I can understand her being upset that she wasn't picked to go onto Broadway, and the crew should have probably removed her from certain material when she left - but it'll depend whether they have the rights to re-publish photos and video they took while she was a part of it. If her contract says they can use photos of her in promotional material after she leaves the production, it doesn't matter how much "mental anguish" it causes her.And if they don't have those rights, they should just be forced to remove her from any future promo stuff. I hate the idea that people can yell "mental anguish" and something that it is not relevant for the sake of looking for some extra money in a lawsuit. Sue them if they're not supposed to use your photo, possibly get some money they should have paid you to use your photo/video - don't try to suck out lots of extra money just because you possibly can.
GDM Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I hadn't thought of that. Taking that into consideration it sounds like she's doing the right thing to me. I am not saying that it did happen, but it's a dicky profession, that's for sure.
Guest Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 this seems pretty stupid to me. if you don't want any publicity, why would you be an actress or be in a musical? sounds like she's just pissed because she didn't keep her part when the musical moved to broadway and she wants some money.
Maddy. Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 What is her friggin problem. Nobody cares about her face being in an ad. It's about the musical, not her.
Hermione Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I am not saying that it did happen, but it's a dicky profession, that's for sure. Oh yeah, I just mean the possibililty of it happening. It's not an easy career to get into and having something that has the potential of making you look bad out there so early on isn't something anyone would want. I can understand her being worried about it and wanting to take action (although "mental anguish" might be a tad over the top).
GDM Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 (although "mental anguish" might be a tad over the top). This is true... I hate lawyer speak, which basically is what that is...
NickD Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 the only thing i can see is, all the press leads to her being thought of as Whatsername, yet, in reality, she's an understudy. surei t makes sense. i know i wouldn't want people to hire me thinking i'm better than i am
