I love you.

Yes. I think that will be interesting!!!

Fuck yeah they should. A Green Day halftime show would be the best ever.

I would love for that to happen!

It would be even cooler if Oakland or SF were playing in it. Or even against each other!

Yeah, they will get a lot of "sell-out" criticism. But haven't they been putting up with that since Dookie?

They have that epic big stadium sound that is perfect for an event like this.

Just one condition: KEEP THE AI CAST OUT OF IT!

I'm sick of them piggybacking on the band. They're already quite established and can do stuff on their own now. I'm sick of them sucking the publicity away from the guys.

Green Day should play for a lawn bowling tournament and have no one expect it. THAT would blow my fucking mind.

I think they would be an absolutely wonderful act for the show. But post Nipplegate, they seem to only be looking for really established (I know GD are, but that's my polite way of saying "old"), somewhat safe picks. They'll probably go with Bon Jovi or something next year. Acts like that don't need bleeping and are guaranteed not to express political opinions.

Maybe someday, though.

No. They're still somewhat relevant.

Yes. SPECIFICALLY next year's Superbowl :)

Yes. SPECIFICALLY next year's Superbowl :)

It IS in the New Orleans Superdome in 2013. So I think it would be especially wonderful if that did happen. U2 has already done it.

They should have played at this one because the Patriots are playing in it :(

I so wish they were playing for the Super Bowl! That would be the only reason why I would ever watch it! Also for the commercials! That would be cool as well if they were in a commercial during the Super Bowl. :P

Posted

I'd say yes just because that would give me another reason to watch it :P

If only the Bay Area was going to be a host area :(

That would be pretty incredible since they already played in the Superdome with U2 right after Katrina. How perfect.

After seeing Madonna and watching myself and my friends trash her, and remembering how shitty the Black Eyed Peas were last year, I definitely think people would respect having a REAL band perform. The Who aren't one of my favorite bands, but I at least respected their performances back in 2010.

I wish they would. Just one more thing to rub in my brother's face.

HELL YEA they should totally play next years super bowl :) it would be fuckin amazing to watch :D

I certainly wouldn't mind. I mean, hearing them potentially have to edit out all the "bad" words would be painful...and since execs probably wouldnt want to risk it, I realize Green Day's an unlikely choice. But hell, any Green Day performance I can get I'll gladly take.

I think Green Day really should play the Superbowl.

I think they should I've been hoping they would every year since the Who played. They are a great band live!!! =D the best I've ever seen!

i think they would be perfect for it. much more suited for it then pop artists are for a couple reasons

first, they have a setlist that goes back 20 plus years. that would mean that most americans have heard or know of their songs. and they appeal to a wide range of demographics.

they DO have radio friendly music, or could just edit the bad words out.

they are a real rockband, and have done stadium shows. Billie knows how to work a crowd, even if its just for 15-20 min.

thier songs would go well together in a medley. which is what most haftime perfomances do.

they also perform great covers too. they could team up with another band, like U2, and still do really well.

i believe that they will be involved in a super bowl hafltime performance within the next 5 years. the only reason i would say that they wouldnt be, is that the band was presented the oppertunity, and they turned it down.

I'm glad they didn't play it because they're better than that. I think bands play the superbowl so they can advertise a hit single or whatever, but that's just not Green Day's style I don't think.
