I talked to Gerard (from the AI Musical) about this today and they will be performing Green Day's version on LOTAG and not the musical version with She's a Rebel mixed in. The girls in the musical will be sining alongside of Billie Joe and the guys will be used as "eye candy" in the background as Gerard put it.

He also says that as far as he knows LOTAG is the ONLY song that they will be performing.

Interesting! Thanks for asking :)

Um.. so you guys are thinking they probably wont air their performance? :\ What are the chances?!

I get ESPN here and the coverage of the game starts at 12am and ends at 3.15am, when would half time be?

I don't mind staying up but I have induction at college in the morning and shit. It'd be cool to know an approximate time :) I'm thinking maybe 1.15am?!

and yeah, don't think it was the best choice to have the musical cast perform with them too. I would prefer if it was just Green Day and I think it'd make more of an impact. LOTAG is a fairly cool choice for it but not really with the cast... They just need to make sure to have it fast-paced and a bit more raw.

I think it's very unlikely that they won't air it. I doubt Green Day would have agreed to perform it it wasn't going to be shown since Im pretty sure they're bringing the cast along to promote the musical!

As for what time it's going to be, that's harder to judge. A football game is played in four quarters, and halftime is of course between the second and third quarter. So if you can keep half an eye on the game, you can just see what quarter it is and how many minutes are left.

Now, understand if it's the 2nd quarter and there are five minutes left on the clock that just means there are five minutes of playing time on the field. It is not taking into account time spent in between plays for challenges, reviews of a play, commercials, etc. Case in point- regulation time for a football game is 60 minutes (15 per quarter), but it takes 3 to 3.5 hours to play a game.

So I think your estimate of an hour and fifteen minutes (from the time of the opening kickoff) is probably pretty close!

Anywayyyyy long story short, keep an eye on the game. Halftime is after the 2nd quarter

I'm actually kind of excited for this. I really don't think Green Day would agree to perform if it wasn't going to be televised.

It's weird that there has been no commercial for this or anything but yeah, Green Day is going to be performing on Jimmy Kimmel tomorrow. So after you watch Green Day play the halftime show at the Jet's game you can catch them again on Jimmy Kimmel haha. Here are the sources I found out from by the way - http://www.tv.com/jimmy-kimmel-live/jimmy-kimmel-live-09-13-2010/episode/1356852/summary.html?tag=next_episode;title --- http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2010/09/mondays-talk-shows.html

Maybe it's another one of the songs they performed/recorded last May. Do we really know if this is a live performance?

Well thats cool :D I'm also surprised there wasn't more about this...

I was just thinking this...

^ That was Jimmy Fallon in May. This is Jimmy Kimmel.

And wow, the guys are busy considering this is their "vacation".

Geez, I only saw Jimmy and assumed it was Fallon! My bad!!

I'll have to watch this on video - Kimmel comes on too late for me on a work night. I might stay up for a tour thread, but Kimmel - nope.
