Tubbie Head Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I think it would have been even better if they did it as in the Musical album, LOTAG/She's A Rebel I think there wasn't much of musical in there, I didn't like to see that many people on stage just dancing and doing backup vocals... It's not like they did at the grammys with 21 Guns, where Billie sang some of the lines and the cast others, it was well done, and an amazing performance because of all that! I would prefer to hear more of the musical since they were there. Feels like there was no need for the cast to be there, to do what they did.
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 That performance was really really awesome. I loved it. It was the kind of performance that just makes you feel good. Wasn't so sure at first, because I didn't think the song choice was that good, but it turned out just really great. I agree with some people, I don't think the cast should have been there. I have nothing against the cast performing with the guys but they really weren't doing anything for most of the performance or contributing to the performance that much. And the ending, I could have done without. But still, that was amazinggg andomgbillie<3
Teenage Kicks! Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Nice performance but would've preferred to see that without the cast. word I stayed up all night for that....but whatever. Worth it I guess. Not really.
Maura99 Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Hooray for the cheerleaders, that was a nice extra touch. Isn't this like one of the biggest stadiums they've ever played in? It looked enormous to me. Sweet. They just have to drag that AI-cast along to everything these days, don't they?... Those ladies surely couldn't keep their hands off Billie.
Rosie May Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I liked that performance, Billie sounded better than he did on the Jimmy Fallan performance in this Green Day look really happy when they perform with the cast somehow The guys looked sort of funny dancing on those block things though.
Marie_GD Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Wrong Way-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Right Way Thanks Fabionei
-Billiejoezee- Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Let me just say i'm happy i didnt stay up late to watch it on tv. II just watched it online, And if I WOULD have stayed up late, it would have been just to see Billie, Mike, and tre. Wrong Way-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Right Way http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j27/mariegd/58940_468095852847_605682847_6596395_2564351_n.jpg Thanks Fabionei Oh so gorgeous.
Clayish Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Yeah pretty good performance. Nothing special. Everyone else besides the 3 girls and the band were pointless though.
.:Whatsername:. Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I would have liked this performance a lot more if the AI cast wasn't there. I'm not really a fan of them, honestly. I love that Green Day has a musical and all, and I would go see it if I could, but when they perform together and stuff, I just wish the cast wasn't there. Especially for this performance, I don't get why they were there, they didn't even do anything. The girls sang and the guys all jumped around on these big platforms. I would rather watch either JUST Green Day or JUST the cast perform. You can tell that Green Day likes performing with the cast though, so at least they enjoy it. So the whole performance for me was... okay. :/
Mar Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 You could barely hear the girls Right? It was awkward.
Foxboro Holiday Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I don't think Green Day were all happy and smiley because the cast were there but rather because they were noticing themselves on the big screens. You can see them look up (to the side) a few times and then break into a grin .
watsername182 Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I found it kinda funny that they had to have people holding onto the platforms when the boys were jumping up and down.
gdpony Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I really enjoyed this performance! I expected the cast to take over the song but they didnt! really good, but I would've loved a song like H&H or EJN, a song with more energy!
Sharmellow Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Billie and Mike were being groped the whole time. Otherwise, it was good.
whatsername343 Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I find those girls super annoying i mean i like the cast album and all but that was too much oO They dance like sluts and look into the camera like "ah fuck me " at some points yikes And since you couln't hear a thing they where singing it was pointless. But maybe that's just me Otherwise i enjoyed Billie singing the whole song He did good
katha_germany Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I find those girls super annoying i mean i like the cast album and all but that was too much oO They dance like sluts and look into the camera like "ah fuck me " at some points yikes And since you couln't hear a thing they where singing it was pointless. debunked Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Billie and Mike were being groped the whole time. Otherwise, it was good. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I was a bit iffy about that part. I feel like the girls went a little too far. It was the only time the cast has really annoyed me. I have no problem with the musical and I hope to see it one day. I don't know if anyone else noticed Rebecca like.. grabbing herself a lot? I'm not sure if it was her dress or not but it was really awkward to watch. I made my friends watch the performance (they don't know much about the musical stuff) and they kept asking why she was grabbing herself.
whatsername343 Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Glad I'm not alone They really went too far i mean do you really need to grab yourself and act like you're in a porn movie or something ? I was just annoyed by their faces, the girl who plays whatsername made some really sexual ones.....ehm yeah And when i watched the performance at the grammys Mike looked really annoyed when one of those girls was touching him all the time soo..... And yeah i want to see it too i'm probably flying out to NY in January to see it ^^ But in my opinion the guys should perform alone because that's the way we love them most
frankiessister Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I was a bit worried about the song choice, especially as I am not a big fan of LOTAG. But I have to say that it turns out to be quite a good live song. Much to my surprise I really liked the performance -especially Billie's vocals- , and although the AI cast didn't really contribute that much to the whole thing, I didn't find their presence annoying at all. I actually don't get why some people here are so upset about the girls, the dancing and groping and all. Isn't that part of their job in some way? I don't know, but I thought it was rather amusing than anything else.
whatsername343 Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I'm not upset about it it just disgusted me how they where groping their freaking crotches und look like they're getting some at the moment. That's not part of their job i think ? Dancing yeah but not that kind of dancing. And not in a stadium where kids are watching. In a whole the performance was good as i said i just didn't like that part and that you could only hear them when you listen very closely.
placenta Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I would rather watch either JUST Green Day or JUST the cast perform. I agree on this one. This was probably the Green Day-performance from the last 15 years that I enjoyed the least, and the first time I actually had a feeling of "whoa, this was not good" while watching. I like the idea of the cast being promoted and all, and I support the musical. Just didn't like this performance.
Vaso.Of.Suburbia Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 i'm kinda annoyed by all this musical stuff.. the girls dancing around the guys were just pointless....
ANJI Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Just saw the video and yeah i would so prefer if it was Green Day on their own. The cast kinda ruined the whole performance...
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I think, what I love the most about the performance, is that the cast didn't entirely overwhelm the band the band this time. It was mostly Green Day, not mostly the cast. I mean, I remember the first time they performed together at the Grammy's- I felt like the cast swallowed Green Day up. This time- it was mainly the band, and I did like that. But still- if that's how it was, it could have just been the band. No cast required- since you could barely hear them anyway. Don't get me wrong- I love the cast, and I love the musical, but the ONLY time I've ever seen them perform TOGETHER and liked it was at the Tony's.
