Yes, but what I said was just an opinion. I know it's not up to us. I just don't think they should be in every TV performance green day does these days. I wanna watch a normal TV performance with just my favorite band, and be able to enjoy the rythm and BILLIE'S voice. :)

I understand it's your opinion. I guess I was trying to explain that while that may be our opinion, I'm thinking it's just not theirs.

To be honest I'd be too embarrased. And/or nausseated. (Is that how you spell it?)

But haven't they only done 2 TV appearances together?

I don't even know anymore... hmm.. grammys.. tonys... what else? I remember a few more...

Just of thinking of being up there with him makes me nervous and gives me butterflies.

Oh, duh! I completely forgot about the Tony's.

^Haven't they only performed together twice? First on the Grammy's (which in my opinion was amazing) and then tonight.

EDIT: Three times...Grammy's, Tony's, Tonight.

No, I said it's tacky when the girls of the AI cast get all touchy feely with the band.

Ah, I see, ok. But... Is that the same kind of tacky when fans come onstage and grab the boys and get touchy feely? Just wondering.

And yes... the cast has only appeared with the band twice... at the Grammies and the Tonys, and now, the Jets game. I remember having this conversation about how many times they have appeared with the band in the "Are Green Day and American Idiot Cast getting annoying" thread.

Apparently the Tony's are forgettable.. Even though it was my favorite performance of them with the AI cast.

It was my favorite Green Day appearance over all. The night was basically about Green Day. :D

Oh, me too. But I'd sure like to have the opportunity!

Now, I don't know if I'll still be awake for Kimmel. Someone will post it here later/tomorrow, right? :)

So glad this is being broadcast nationally, and I'm not at work and can see it!

I think it's different. The AI cast are performers and are essentially still doing their jobs while onstage with GD. Fans, however, are reacting out of an emotional high and pure excitement. Not that the AI cast aren't excited to be onstage performing with GD, but I think it's a bit unprofessional to be groping them in the process. That's just my take on it, though.

I kinda think this way....

I'm just gonna cut in and say that yes the band has performed with the cast three times including this performance but if it weren't for the musical they wouldn't have been at the Tony's to begin with.

I don't really think the girls are "groping" Billie. I mean, they're allowed to touch him (and look at him). It's not like they're grabbing him in the crotch!

Ah. I don't really see them groping them. Groping to me says that they are grabbing their ass or something, lol. I didn't see them groping. But I guess i'm just looking at things different. I see them looking, but I didn't see them in that snippet from the game touching them...I'll have to catch the full video.

Sigh, I really feel bad that people hate the cast so much. Particularly when it's obvious that the band loves them. Oh well.

True, perhaps groping was too strong of a word. I should have said "I think it's a bit unprofessional to hang all over them in the process", which I've noticed in past performances.

However, if they were to completely avoid touching/looking at any of the band members during their performance, it'd just make things look really awkward and uncomfortable.

I understand. The interaction between the band and the cast is a little Broadway to me, which can be funny-looking. It seems like they toned it down a bit from the Grammies to the Jets game, though. I'm not quite sure how the cast is supposed to be onstage with the band without some interaction.

But it also might come down to the fact that some fans would rather just see the band by themselves, without the cast at all. It's a quandary.
