It would be awesome for someone to organize at one of the next shows maybe half the signs say MERCI and half say THANK YOU. Trust that this comes from a place of genuine appreciation for the sweat that these guys are putting into this "HO AS HELL TOUR" and not an attempt to rip anything off. It was a beautiful and touching thing you did and I do hope fans carry on your inspired idea.

Hey we're gonna do this for the Montreal show, mix "merci beaucoup" and "thank you" signs! As a tribute for you guys in Paris who started it and had this brilliant idea but also because we speak french here too :P

I was just about to make this suggestion. Love the idea of both Thank you and Merci Beaucoup. It reminds us all where the idea started and how we all want to continue it and tell the band Thanks.

Montreal really is the perfect place to do this. As you sadi, you speak French there as well. Can't wait to see the pictures and hear about the bands reaction.

There is a 50% chance I'll be at the Montreal show. Make one for me if I get there! :)

Yeah this is the perfect idea and the background of it still remains! Can't wait to see how they'll react either! We will all leave you feedbacks after the show :)

You're gonna have a sign for sure if you make it to the show! We'll make a ton of them, ok maybe not 2000 but still..XD

im sure y'all just caught the tweet about the THANK YOU signs that were held up last night at the East Jesus Nowhere, Virginia show. I made up 50 signs that said THANK YOU and passed em around to folks in the pit. It was something I saw the folks at the PARIS SHOW do and I thought it was AWESOME AS FUCK.

Lets keep the tradition going!!!!! THANK YOU SIGNS at each show! Those boys are sweating their ASSES off for us on this outdoor venue summer tour.

I think for the next show you should hold AWESOME AS FUCK signs up instead of THANK YOU.

Just to spice it up a bit, y'know?

Haha, that's a terrific idea. Or if not for the next show, then for the another one. :D

Edit: Hmm.. I was thinking that if this idea is a great one too if those papers had different texts on it? Not just thank you or awesome as fuck at every concert, you know. I mean different texts/signs at one concert.

Your reaction was childish, you should be proud that other Green Day fans liked and copied your good idea, and they actually didn't write THANKS but THANK YOU, which is a better way to thank someone in English (remember it for the next time).

Oh and it would be great to see a bunch of signs written in every language, like Thank You, Gracias, Danke, Grazie, Merci, Obrigado..

Omg, that would be sooooo cool

I want more shows in Europe. I wanna do it too

Yeeaahh *sad face*

I actually had a Thank you sign at the show I was, but unfortunately, I was too far away at the end of the concert (or, for almost all the concert) :pinch:

My thoughts as well.

And just cause I want to see Green Day again so bad.

Yeah, I have to admit seeing Green Day again is the primary reason I want them to do more shows

I can't be there, but lift up for me is a sign, it's a very good idea! Thanks

First time seeing this pic, and wow that's so touching. It's actually more than touching- it's fucking beautiful! I think that even if Paris didn't get a tweet (Is that what it's called?) about it, that doesn't mean Green Day didn't appreciate it. I read on that Bob Gruen site that the guys said something about how they never saw anything like that before. It must have been breathtaking to see so many Thanks signs. Even if it does turn into a tradition, Green Day will always associate it with Paris..

Green Day probably didn't tweet about it because they weren't really tweeting that much at the time of that show.

I wish I'd been there for this - it's one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Wow, this is an awesome idea. Wish I could have took part in it!

The photos are breathtaking just at the idea of how many people participated.

I should keep this in mind if I ever go to one of their concerts.

I was in Paris and I think it would be a big pride for French fans if Thanks signs become a tradition =D

I should make signs to hand out at the Toronto Green Day show that all read 'HO AS HELL'.

LOL, nah, I think that type of humour would be misplaced. Bilie might think we're all poking fun at him, and I wouldn't want that.

yes... good idea

unfortunately they didn't mentioned anything about Paris on twitter
