Babouche Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Haha me I'm always not ok but I can't change anything so... I think now I'm just a little angry about BJ... Sometimes I really want to ask him some questions and say everything I have on my heart. But I can't.. Write "Merci" was a good idea I think!
Rebel07 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 what an amazing idea awesome that he tweeted about it too
Lauren99 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Wait, what? I know one of you said that you were angry because the thank you's last night got a shout-out and you guys got "nothing." If you were doing it for the glory, you were doing it for the wrong reasons. I hope people continue to do it because Green Day deserves to know that they are appreciated. Merci and Bonne Nuit. THIS. Your reaction was childish, you should be proud that other Green Day fans liked and copied your good idea, and they actually didn't write THANKS but THANK YOU, which is a better way to thank someone in English (remember it for the next time). Oh and it would be great to see a bunch of signs written in every language, like Thank You, Gracias, Danke, Grazie, Merci, Obrigado..
Babouche Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 "If you were doing it for the glory, you were doing it for the wrong reasons." Hey we haven't did that for glory! As we said in all our post it was to show to Green Day that we love them. If we were angry about the fact that they say anything about our thanks it's because maybe they don't understand the msg and maybe they don't care about it.
Hermione Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 So cool! I bet he loved that. And it shouldn''t make it any less special for the people who did it at the Paris show. At the end of the day you thought of it and did it first, they know that and that's what makes it special. Be glad that the band got to see people doing it again, they must've really enjoyed it and appreciated it. If you were doing it for the band and not yourselves you should be pleased.
Vrock09 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I personally think its a lovely idea. I wonder if us Killjoys from Detroit can arrange it... Im in, are you sitting or in the pit?
GDM Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Wow, the reaction from France floored me when I read it this morning but I think Moffie said it well. You don't do any of this for the glory, you do it as a lobor of love. If something amazing happens, that's great, but no one can expect it, that's for sure. And I could swear that I did read somewhere that they mention the signs in an interview or a review from France, where the band said that they had never seen anything like that from an audience. I'll have to find it when I can. It makes me so sad that a simple Tweet, something we've all wanted them to do since they got their Twitter, would yield such a reaction! And I think it would be great to do it for the rest of the shows, especially in America, where they get a lot of crap from the general population, the signs would totally make them feel loved by us. And you want something original? When was the last time a GD show was completely original? It's always the same pattern, if that can become a 'tradition' why not something like this from their most loyal fans? Anyway, I'm sorry that the Tweet made you so sad and angry, jealousy is not a pretty reaction, and if something as beautiful as a simple tweet from our beloved Billie Joe (or whoever really tweets) for an action that was as awesome in Paris as it was in Virginia garners such a response, I almost wish he wouldn't Tweet anymore. Sorry about my own reaction. I just went to the awesomest GD show of the last year that Ive been blogging about them, and I really wished I had had a thank you sign last night.
Abbey. Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 I personally think its a lovely idea. I wonder if us Killjoys from Detroit can arrange it... YOU do it! Go out, make 50 copies and bring them with you to the venue. There is no arranging needed. Photocopies. Simple stuff.
Kristina. Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 One's been posted in the thread already. I would find it for you but I'm late for work lol. Just look back and there's a link with one on Thank you so much, I haven't noticed it before, but now I have focused only on the photo and successfully found it. Thank you
Ellenkc Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 And I could swear that I did read somewhere that they mention the signs in an interview or a review from France, where the band said that they had never seen anything like that from an audience. I'll have to find it when I can. I think this mights be it "As Billie Joe sang the last song, the fans in the front all held up homemade signs saying 'THANKS'. No one in the band or crew had ever seen this kind of mass sign of appreciation from an audience before.. " It was from Bob Gruens pictures. If that wasn't the quote then just ignore this
Katarina. Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 It's a fantastic idea Let's keep the tradition going indeed! Too bad I can't participate with this for the upcoming shows, since they're not in Europe.. But I'll make sure to bring a "Thank you" sign to the next Green Day shows I'm going to! I hope I gotta wait less than 5 years for that, haha. So the next Green Day show is tomorrow, I can't wait to see pictures of this show, hopefully seeing a few of the crowd with a huge amount of "Thank you" signs!

If that wasn't the quote then just ignore this that is EXACTLY the quote. reading it made me a bit sad that they had never seen any kind of mass sign of appreciation before even with all their years as road warriors.
whatsup? Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Yeah, this is a good idea, definitely ) They totally deserve millions of thank yous... And..some of you in thread have mentioned some pictures with a lot of fans holding thank you signs from the show in Paris...Can anyone share this photo / photos? Why criticize me whereas I said I was wrong ? Read my last post, I actually said I was proud of being imitating. I don't want to start a fucking war (as Billie would say) with american Green Day fans. I didn't came for that, even yesterday. PS : To say everything, we don't print those 2000 papers, so we voluntarily forgot the "you" by laziness .. and to save our wrists ^^
Abbey. Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 PS : To say everything, we don't print those 2000 papers, so we voluntarily forgot the "you" by laziness .. and to save our wrists ^^ Holy crap, you made 2000???!?!?!?!?!!!
