Maddy. Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 Bahahahahahahahahahahaha! What? Here's a suggestion for ya: grow up and then type a coherent reply?
Coffee409 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Well, not all. Some. I mean, the AI videos captured their personalities, for me, so much better than, say, Nice Guys Finish Last. If the AI video hadnt been the first thing I'd heard about them I dont think many other of their videos would have won me over. Im not saying they sucked. They just werent as good. Jus' sayn. The videos for AI were decent. I think most of the 21cbd videos pretty much suck, but some of their older videos win hands down, for me.... But this all makes sense, as I got into them back when those videos were relevant.
Kayfabe Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Wow everyone is going to hate me now... I don't like that Tre had gotten so... ~big. He just looks a bit silly now. BUT I STILL LOVE HIM. omg tre's tummy is but speaking of tre, his hair this era. it used to be all sexy and rraah :eyebrow: during ai, and now he's like slicked it back into this fauxhauk-ish thing?
Ellenkc Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I don't like that Jason White refuses to join This! I get that he wants to keep Green Day as a trio but seriously, he's played at pretty much every show for the past decade and he's not in the band? Bad form Jase. But if you think about it he's got the best job out of all of them, he gets recognition from dedicated fans, doesn't get swarmed by teenies, doesn't do interviews/photoshoots, doesn't have the pressure of writing and recording new songs and he gets to play all these awesome concerts with his friends. Pretty good gig he's got going for himself.
ifmemoryserves Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 A wise man once told me that the truth will set you free -- but first it'll piss you off. The truth never set me free so I did it myself~ lol Paramore lyrics... But yeah, I think this thread is interesting. It's a nice change from: "GREEN DAY'S IS AWESOME I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM THEY ARE PERFECT BLAHBLAHBLAH " omg tre's tummy is
Coffee409 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 What? Here's a suggestion for ya: grow up and then type a coherent reply? My reply to her opinion wasn't "dickish" at all. Asking someone "what the fuck are you talking about" is asking someone to explain the reasoning behind their opinion.... I'm pretty sure last time I checked this was a public forum, where people gather and express opinions and converse back and forth between one another.... Your assumption, and all too pretentious little shit reply on the other hand, was pretty fucking immature. If you'd like to climb down off of that horse of yours, I'd love to have a conversation with you. But if you insist on being a cunt, I think we're done here.

Your swearing wasn't necessary and made your post look angry and dickish. I apologise for the misunderstanding.
ScreamsInSilence815 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I was waiting for someone to mention this. The greater portion of Green Day fans (or as you so neatly put it "teenie fans") don't have much to do with Green Day themselves, except for the fact that Green Day had become a "cool" band to like in the American Idiot days. Not to mention all the 13 year old girls screaming "oh meh gaw, billy jo is so hawt i luv him so much! i don't care bout the other onez!!"
Coffee409 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Your swearing wasn't necessary and made your post look angry and dickish. I apologise for the misunderstanding. I was trying to be dickish that time, thanks for noticing. I except your apology, and offer you one in return. I am sorry for purposely being offensive. I would love it if we could move forward and get along Also, it really takes a lot more to make me angry. I thought you were being a bitch, so I was simply returning the favor

Erica. Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I hate 21st Century Breakdown. There's maybe one or two songs on the album that I can tolerate, but I can't stand almost the whole thing. I feel like they just tried way too hard to recreate American Idiot and failed. It's just not as good as any of their other music. Maybe it was the change in producer or something, but the album is just unpleasant to listen to.
Coffee409 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 lol okay 's cool bro~ I like it better this way
Maddy. Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 I like it better this way Haha, same. Now let's get back to the topic.

I wouldn't say I hate it, but I definitely don't love it, or even like it that much. Sometimes I find some of the songs to be okay to listen to, but I don't usually choose to listen to it.

Coffee409 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Oh here's a good one! I HATE all the bands they bring on tour with them now... HATE. First three times I saw GD it was with Pansy Division, The High Fives, and The Living End. I absolutely hate all of the bands that open for Green Day now.
xjernpqvrnbfv Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I think it's a bit weird that Billie Joes wears a longsleeve live when it has 90 degrees outside. I mean yes it looks good when he wears his "uniform" but it doesn't seem comfortable at all when it's so hot at the concerts. But as long as he is happy with it, it shouldn't really matter
kelly42fox Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 What I love about Green Day is that their sound has grown up over the years... But I think that's also what I don't like about them, as well... It's mostly that the production value of their music is so much more 'refined'... It feels packaged compared to Dookie or Insomniac or Nimrod (definitly over 1039 and Kerplunk, duh). The music gets lost in the production/mix. In most of 21CB, they put too much reverb on Beej's voice, and Mikey gets lost in the fray. It takes hearing the songs live to really get the energy and balance of the music. (I could go on about this forever, but I'll keep it short). This is why I find the Foxboro Hot Tubs so revitalizing. I don't want to make any comments on their personalities or lives... They are performers. It's what they do. They present themselves the way they want to be seen (altho, I do think they're pretty honest). In response to all the guyliner comments - I have to admit that I'm a super sap for it, but Beej totally goes overboard with it sometimes.
Hermione Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Ehh, I can't really think of anything that wouldn't just be nitpicking. They're too good and they make me too happy for me to nitpick them. Just because something might not be to my personal taste it doesn't mean I think they should change it - they're artists and all I want is for them to do whatever they want to do.
AfterShock Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Eyeliner /thread. Took the words right out of my mouth.
spark in the night Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I don't like these stadium tours also, that there are some cities they aren't touring to so yeah hmph Oh here's a good one! I HATE all the bands they bring on tour with them now... HATE. First three times I saw GD it was with Pansy Division, The High Fives, and The Living End. I absolutely hate all of the bands that open for Green Day now. oh yes MCR was a bad choice
ifmemoryserves Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 oh yes MCR was a bad choice hahah oh lord. At the time, I regretted not seeing them with MCR. Now, I'm extremely glad I didn't. Although I didn't particularly enjoy Against Me!...
Kayfabe Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 MCR was a bad choice Oh but frank turner was... frank turner
spark in the night Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I saw them with Jimmy Eat World and Kaiser Chiefs JEW- ok because I actually liked 3 of their songs at the time Kaiser- LOL, put me to sleep
