Maura99 Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 People class them with Blink 182 because of the pop-punk genre, physically they don't actually look anything alike, but eww Blink I have no problem with the eyeliner personally. They can wear whatever they want to wear. Like you said they aren't emo and anyone with the most basic knowledge of the genre knows GD aren't. If they stopped wearing eyeliner because a bunch of idiots with very little music knowledge call them emo because they wear eyeliner, I would be really disappointed. Yeah, that's kinda what I meant. It's not their fault; it's just the opinion of the general public. Which I don't like... GD is freakin' amazing and there are people looking down on them because of these stupid reasons...
Bubbles. Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 People class them with Blink 182 because of the pop-punk genre Yeah, this kind of annoys me. Blink-182 are my favourite band after Green Day, but they both sound nothing alike.
Maura99 Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 ^There's pop-punk, and then there's Blink-182. They're on a very different level than GD. Not that I'm majorly against Blink or anything... It's just different.
Ellenkc Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Yeah, this kind of annoys me. Blink-182 are my favourite band after Green Day, but they both sound nothing alike. I know, everyone automatically assumes they sound/act the same when they really don't. There is not a chance in hell you will catch Tre doing one of Travis' solos on that revolving set Yeah, that's kinda what I meant. It's not their fault; it's just the opinion of the general public. Which I don't like... GD is freakin' amazing and there are people looking down on them because of these stupid reasons... That always annoys me I remember reading on an AFI site that Green Day have sold out because of their t-shirt cannon
anya. Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I don't like that Billie is like huge in ever Green Day thing, there should be more Tre and Mike, but I assume if Billie writes music he sings it and he apperas much more because of that. I really think that there should be some more space for Mike and especially Tre. Then, I don't really like the idea of the musical. The cast's annoying me and I don't like how they sing. As many of you, I hate witing for the next album. It's too musch waiting anyway.. As someone said before, there are bands/singers who make 2 great albums in only 2 years. I know they're on tour a long time and then they need to find inspiration and everything, but I (actually we) was (were) waiting for the 21CB nearly five years, and if you aske me, the album wasn't as great as it could be (also the shitty promotion) - music is too similar on the whole album, I personally like only a few songs. And for the end, I hate no Rob Cavallo, Butch Wig is just not that good. And I hate no new gig for the canceled show in Venice.
Boston Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I don't like 21st Century Breakdown. I dislike that its an extension of American Idiot without the power and presence that its predecessor had. Its almost like they're typecasting themselves as a band who needs to make rock operas forever now because they did it once. Also, I don't like how Billie fucks around with people in the audience, leading them to believe that they'll be chosen to play guitar/sing and then chooses someone else. I hate that he rarely chooses girls to sing onstange or play guitar.
Maddy. Posted August 27, 2010 Author Posted August 27, 2010 I hate that he rarely chooses girls to sing onstange or play guitar. There have been quite a few girls onstage. At the rotterdam show, at the pinkpop show (Sanne from the forum) and mino at one of the german shows as well. I don't know more examples but there have been quite a few more. Oh, and I bet billie joe doesn't want screaming psycho fangirls on stage so he picks the least crazy one?
LMC Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 i dont really hate it but only BJ and tre seemed to have fun during live shows. Mike looks like a robot most of the time just standing there like Jason. I mean look like nofx they look like all of them are having fun. Maybe Mike is just like that but yeah Mike sure has a lot of fun during the shows. You can see it in his face inbetween the songs, but when they're playing I guess he's just really focused on his performance.
Mrs. Nobody Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Whoah.. Please tell me I'm not the only that finds their concert tickets cheap? Seriously, I've always had to fork out a fortune to see most bands, GD was a sigh of relief I don't know how much they cost in the US though, but I can't imagine there's a lot of difference, right?

With the economy in the US, it can be a lot.
Mrs. Nobody Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 With the economy in the US, it can be a lot. Oh gawd, sorry, didn't think about that.. There are still bands that charge a lot more though, and you get a lot for your money at a GD show (That said, if you don't like the pyro, etc.. meh)
franci175 Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I don't like his EEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOO every 2 seconds and that he play a few second of the covers
Nele Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Whoah.. Please tell me I'm not the only that finds their concert tickets cheap? Seriously, I've always had to fork out a fortune to see most bands, GD was a sigh of relief I don't know how much they cost in the US though, but I can't imagine there's a lot of difference, right? Yeah, they are cheap compared to other bands. I mean I payed 40€ for the blink-182 show and they played 1 hour 45 minutes. I payed 50€ for Green Day and they played nearly three hours. With the economy in the US, it can be a lot. It's not like the economy here is super awesome.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Hmm, I don't think they're really expensive, but not cheap also... for Paris I paid €65. Also, from what I've heard, the prices in the US and in Europe are pretty similar. And indeed, it's not like the economy is going terrific here either. Isabel, Zoe, Grainne (I hope I spelled her name right ), Katie, just a couple of days ago Devan, I think last show it was also a girl from here, in Paris there was a girl, at Rock Werchter I think a girl also, just to name a few more ... I definitely don't think they only pick guys. It's pretty even, I think. Hmm, I sort of had the impression they picked the people who are being really into it. xD
Schlappy Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 The thing i hate about green day is................. that they have haters. people actually take the time to make anti green day videos, comments, ect. im like what the fuck? if you dont like them fine but you dont have to share it with the world. get a life of course thats not Green Days fault but i guess it still counts. otherwise i love them
Ben I Come Around Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I just dont like it when they wont pull me on stage, so what if im at the back of the seated area. PICK ME! I don't have any problems with green day, except the way they've managed the tour. The prices of all their shit, the fact that new York gets more shit than Cali, the way they've done the singles abs videos, and the fact that billie lies ALOT. oh and I HATE how fucking rude billie can be with fans that go up stage. I know he plays around rough but that takes away all my hopes of going up. I'd be scared if him. I know what you mean, And whats your name?....NOW GET OFF THE STAGE YOU LITTLE BRAT! oww

RebelofSuburbia Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Whoah.. Please tell me I'm not the only that finds their concert tickets cheap? Seriously, I've always had to fork out a fortune to see most bands, GD was a sigh of relief I don't know how much they cost in the US though, but I can't imagine there's a lot of difference, right? well compared to some other tickets I buy (I usually pay 15-20 euros) they're on the more expensive side, but if you think about the status of Green Day their tickets are actually really cheap! (paid 30 in 2005 and 42 last year) That's actually a thing I love about Green Day, haha Things I don't like: The political stuff. I completely understand the band's wish to make political statements through their music and that's fine by me. It just annoys me if they go beyond the music and put statements on their websites or when I am at a show and they start talking about how much of a twat George W. is or something like that. And it's not because I don't care about world issues at all or that I disagree with them, but I go to gigs to have a good time and generally forget about the everyday world around me. Plus it gets a bit whiny, especially when they did the whole GD NRDC thing and it's way harder to take stuff like that seriously because I feel like they're doing it because the NRDC wanted a famous face to represent them and asked/paid them to do so, not because they strongly believe in such stuff. (although I know they probably do care a lot) Also, their 'crowd interaction/entertainment' can get a bit redundant. I have a love/hate relationship with Billie's hey-oh's, because he does it at almost every song and I like to hear songs just played without being altered or interupted. But at the same time I scream along and have the best time ever. xD Oh yeah and I think the whole Shout/King for a Day part in their shows is way too long. I'm also a bit sceptic about the American Idiot musical and how they give away guitars. And I really don't like that Billie says 'wow you're the best singer we've ever had!' to almost every kid that gets to sing Longview nowadays. Way to spoil the special feeling Melissa (I think that was her name; the girl that sang in Paris and I think she was the first to hear that and get a guitar) must have had. Ah well, nobody's perfect. I still love this band to death
The Snark Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I really don't like how at an event, Green Day will be announced and it's just Billie. Green Day is NOT one person. The same thing goes for interviews...Mike and Tre need to talk more! And I wish Jason White could get more recognition.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I really don't like how at an event, Green Day will be announced and it's just Billie. Green Day is NOT one person. That barely ever happens, and it's not as if that's Green Day's fault anyway, it's whoever organizes the event who listed them as just Billie.
The Snark Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 That barely ever happens, and it's not as if that's Green Day's fault anyway, it's whoever organizes the event who listed them as just Billie. I didn't mean to imply that I was blaming them. I just think that by now they could be like 'cut it out!'. It obviously doesn't bother them, so I don't know why I find it so annoying.
GDClassof13 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Eyeliner. It makes them look emo and i'm sick of people saying they're emo. THE'RE NOT F*****G EMO!!!
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I didn't mean to imply that I was blaming them. I just think that by now they could be like 'cut it out!'. It obviously doesn't bother them, so I don't know why I find it so annoying. I don't think they even know... I doubt they read the announcement to their own performances at things like this but, where have you seen it? I can't recall ever seeing it, maybe I forgot, but it can't be more than once or twice.... Ah well
Nele Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 When they play like 10 rare songs at some concerts while other gigs get none. Yes.. every concert is special bla bla bla but it just bothers me. I'm happy the day this tour ends.

Yes.. every concert is special bla bla bla but it just bothers me. I'm happy the day this tour ends. I know what you mean. I was really disappointed they didn't play any rare song in Berlin, when I first saw them. But then, after Mainz I can't be mad or jealous of anything
