Anita_GD Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 now i feel bad even though i've only posted one reply Me too I TAKE IT ALL BACK
ifmemoryserves Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Chocolate Rain. *cringe* lollll. That was pretty awful. But so is the original so. that Paramore supported them in June Ugh, can people just get over this? It was like two shows.
Anita_GD Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 i agree with the whole Paramore thing...I myself was exactly jumping for joy when they were announced as a support act... don't get me wrong I do like them I just thought Green Day and Paramore were like chalk and cheese :/ The f act that a lot of people were going crazy over it saying they were gonna bottle and boo them off stage was a bit harsh imo

Anita_GD Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 He seems like a generally quiet guy (in the press anyway) I love how Mike comes off as the shy one...its so much cooler then when he does things at the shows like at wembley when he sang part of shout! It was AMAZING! And in glasgow everyone kept cheering him on to do shout, he did it, and wore my friends rubber boobs It was only a matter of time before his inner rebel came out

Tripe Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Chocolate Rain. *cringe* Holy hell. Yes. There's nothing wrong with criticizing. It's normal and better than following them blindly. I just don't think they'd feel great reading through all this. I'd bet they might find it a little interesting. I think they'd feel much worse reading through some of the crazy ass slash fiction stories out there.
Supermodel*Robot Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I'd bet they might find it a little interesting. I think they'd feel much worse reading through some of the crazy ass slash fiction stories out there. I think it would be interesting, but it's a lot of negativity to take in all at once. Anyways, yeah. The fanfic around here is fucked. It's kind of sad how it overshadows some people that really write.
Anita_GD Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I just don't think they'd feel great reading through all this. I think that really goes without saying...I mean how would anyone read through a thread dedicated to all the things you don't like about them? But then when you consider the fact we're talking about Green Day here, being in the public eye for so long and having countless negative things and lies said about them through the media or whatever else, I imagine they would have developed pretty thick skin by now and more than likely would not give a shit about something like this. Quote from Billie Joe "Its the world wide web you can say whatever the fuck you want"
Punk-tastic32 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Chocolate Rain. *cringe* It's awful, but I find it hilarious! It was weird.. but "get your cute ass to the gay parade" killed me xD Agreed. That is my favorite line of the whole thing! [quote name=anita nerd much ' timestamp='1281663459' post='4025690] every night Billie would say "insert country they're playing in" is the "new home of green day" he said it eeeeeeevery night I was like...
Doris The Spider Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 [Okay, your original post was that your mother says people shouldn't express their opinions about politics and religion or something like that, and that you think Green Day shouldn't do that so much. I just wanted to keep that in mind.] What does the news do, what do books and their authors do, what does every source you research do? Expressing their opinion about politics and religion. What's the difference between a celebrity and the news? It's all opinions. Green Day isn't telling you what you should think. They have their own opinions, and they share them, through their music or otherwise. However, they aren't telling you that that is what you should think, they are telling you to think for yourself. "Question everything, or shut up and be a victim of authority". The news isn't supposed to be opinions. It's supposed to be facts. But the media is all bias now. That's why you look up both sides and then make up your mind. And having Billie call Bush an asshole is bull shit. They could still tell you to think for yourself without saying shit like that.
Heather! Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Everyone complaining about the lack of spontaneity at their shows: at Hartford tonight they played FOD, Geek Stink Breath, Dominated Love Slave, JAR, Going to Pasalacqua, a bit of Mother Mary, a bit of It's Fuck Time, and Whatsername acoustic, among others. Spontaneous enough for you?

Princess Consuela Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Lack of spontaneity? That's ridiculous.
Mar Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 kjshdo;gl;asd;fgasdg.nas don't remind me    My thoughts, exactly! But unfortunately, this creates the ultimate dichotomy I laid out earlier: people bitch the setlists are too basic. Then they change it up and we get all sad that we weren't at the shows with these epic songs. However, if they did these epic songs all the time, they would become regular additions, just as commonplace as 21 Guns!

I don't know, maybe it's just because money's really tight right now, but I just feel blessed to even see them. I could care less what the setlist is.

Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 The news isn't supposed to be opinions. It's supposed to be facts. But the media is all bias now. That's why you look up both sides and then make up your mind. And having Billie call Bush an asshole is bull shit. They could still tell you to think for yourself without saying shit like that. Everything about religion is opinion (what facts are there about religion? There's only what people think about and do with religion), and politics, a whole heap of it as well. It's always " *politician* said this, and this is blabla's reaction to that". And how do you look up both sides? By listening to people's opinions. Why? It's their opinion, if they want to call Bush an asshole, they're very much allowed to do so. Freedom of speech. I'm just curious, do you say the same about people saying Bush was a good president? I just don't see why it would be a bad thing to express your opinions. If no one would do that, we'd still be stuck in god knows what or where, because there would be no progress whatsoever.
Peace and Rainbows Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 waiting 5 years for the next album that is a good one

I know personally I just like to bitch about everything and over-exaggerate. So I'm not really THAT upset that that setlist was so epic. Really I'm just a little sad that I've never seen Whatsername live. Although if I saw it live, I'd prefer non-acoustic. But anyways, yeah, it is kind of lose-lose.
