What are things about Green Day that you don't like?

I think that they can kind of come off as assholes at times. Not really like specific things they say or anything but just sometimes it seems like they do. But I still love them.

I agree with this.

I also don't like the fact that Billie always seems to take the spotlight in interviews and stuff. I mean yeah he's the front man, but there's been a number of interviews I've seen that he's interrupted Tre or Mike and talks for like 50 thousand hours.

Off the top of my head I can't really think of anything else though.

The guyliner/ eyeliner

Come on guys, get rid of the make up and go natural.

That they express their political and religious views. My mother always told me to never talk politics or religion with anyone. Just let people believe what they want and shut up.

And that Mike's bass is hard to hear in songs now. I loved the heavy basslines in the early days.

Silence is the enemy.

That's not what I dislike about the musical, but my gripe with it is that I honestly believe all of the preparation and press for the show took up too much of the band's time, too much publicity. I feel like the US tour is kind of an afterthought because of the musical. I'll always remember that first time they were on Jimmy Fallon, he never plugged/mentioned they were going on tour in the summer (he did back on July 30, but still), I knew that this tour wouldn't be taken too seriously, in terms of when, where and how many dates were booked. So, it's not a problem I have with the band members themselves, just how they were marketed/what they marketed this year.

Well don't take it from me...... I've only been seeing Green Day since '95. Guess I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about.

HAHA alright sry for not being an old fart and being to young to go to concerts before last year(my parents are pretty conservative) .....and just to say my brother is seeing them since then too and hes not your opinion.

And no reason to get rude!

And just to say i think you're getting on everyones nerves including me with your blabla about seeing them since 95...so what ?

Stop to persuade yourself on that!

And i was only talking about the spontanous things in the show and in my opinion i dont need to see them for years to say that.

I don't think so. They've been playing pretty much the same songs all the time, and their antics haven't changed. Of course, there'll be things that stand out at every show. Like what you mentioned but the show is still the same, mostly. There are just some things that they do differently as to make ONE thing to stand out. idk if this didn't make sense.

It did make sense ^^

But i wasnt talking about the structure...thats true but maybe they want it that way who knows.

I was talking about them being spontanous in the shows...not everything is planned ;)

This exactly.

I feel like the preperation/promotion of the musical pretty much clouded over the 21stCB promotion. I can't say anything about it, because I haven't seen it, nor do I really plan on seeing it. The whole cast album thing to me was a bit over the top. I understand it was to help promote the musical and all, but honestly, I didn't see the need to cover the entire album.

well i don't hate anything, but just miss the fact that mike doesn't do any more interesting catchy basslines from AI onwards. he just continuously picks the root of the chords which is kinda boring.. longview will ALWAYS be his best bassline. and i also think the volume of his bass during these recent songs is WAYYY to quiet.

They need to come to Australia more often.

We also need some FBHT love down here. :(

couldn't agree more

I mean, who here has ever seen BJ down a bottle of Boones in the middle of a song? Who has heard Mike talk about wearing a cock ring to the show? Who has been invited to the after party? I have, and it was in 1995.

I fail to see the relevance of this statement, way to throw some pointless gloating into your post though, thanks for that.

Wow, I couldn't disagree with that more. I'm sorry, but if everyone just "shut up" then nothing would ever get done.

I think its unfair to expect the guys to keep silent about their views when they are so passionate about them.

The only thing thats ever irritated me was when Billie started mouthing off about the BP oil disaster in Manchester and pointing the finger at London. BP isn't a British company anymore, its majority shareholders are all American, one of the big ones being Haliburton which was the companyt that Dick Chaney used to be CEO of an d some how got a hole of Iraq oil feild reconstruction contracts even though they had no right to participate in the public bidding process. Mind you if it was anying who had said it I'd be just as fucked off I hate when people dont learn their facts before opening their mouths.

Yeah, this is true! More Mike, please!

I really want to see AI now. :( I need to go to New York :D

Oh no I didn't mean it like you said it that way, it was more because a lot of people seem to say that you shouldn't compare shows because you'll feel bad, while I think most people don't actually do feel bad about their own show, it only might seem that way. Although maybe it does happen, I can't look into other people's heads, obviously.

Exactly this. I dont think people get majorly depressed about it or anything, it's just a "Oh well. That sucks, but..." sort of thing.

I mean, who here has ever seen BJ down a bottle of Boones in the middle of a song?

I think someone probably mentioned this, but last time they were in Ireland Billie tried to down a whole pint of Guinness onstage. He also failed.

that is the worst attitude you can ever have. ever.

Go see it and you will become a believer. The highlights don't do the whole show justice. It is really amazing.

Dan (hubby) felt the same way you do and came away from the show awed. It really is something to behold.

well uh youknow uh what youkow i'm uhhh youknow talking about youknow

There's nor much that I don't like about Green Day, obviously, there's only small things.

Sometimes I think Billie Joe can sound kind of ignorant when he says things like "now that the retard's out of office" about George Bush, and "all those conservitave assholes." I just think it's a bit much, it just comes across kind of narrow minded. =/ I don't think he is closeminded, but when he says things like that I just cringe. It's the same as someone who doesn't agree with Green day's opinions calling them assholes because of it.

GWB was a retard, and those conservatives are assholes.... I don't see the problem.

Look, I know it can come off as I'm tooting my own horn here. But I'm not making a big stink about the fact that I have seen them since '95. I'm simply stating a fact..... The point is, I have a little more that I am basing my opinion off of. If that offends you, it's your problem, not mine.

I fail to see the relevance of this statement, way to throw some pointless gloating into your post though, thanks for that.

It's really pretty easy to understand..... we were talking about "spontaneous" factors of GD shows.

The things I posted were spontaneous, repeating the same lines night after night, tour after tour, for years on end..... Are not.

Question everything or be a victim of authority.

Well it doesn't just come off like that it is like that !

You're doing a big stink about it at the moment because some people told you that it's annoying.....well talk about trying to be funny.....

And trust me I'm not offended at all...it takes a more grown up and healthy minded figure to offend me.....

So look more closely at posts people do before bitching and getting on a high horse....you still don't understand what I'm talking about.

And thats the fact that's pissing me off right now...because i don't see a point in getting insulted by such a single minded person because i expressed my opinion.

GOT IT ?

I'm sorry.... Would you like to consider who started what with whom?

It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that I look online and see that the show last night was the same as the show two weeks ago... It has more to do that I GO to a show and it was (basically) the same show I saw 5 years ago........ As far as the "banter" goes, at least. But as I said from the get-go, it's STILL the BEST live show in the business. I just wish it was a little less scripted and a little more spontaneous.

Ehm sry but i went to the show in Mainz and i dont think Fuck time was planned or scripted !

Also every band member singing after each other during king for a day.....you think that was planned ? i dont because it took us a long time to convince Mike to sing......

Same in Dortmund last year.....Billie goofing around with security wasnt planned either as far as i know

They are the most spontaneous band i've ever seen.....

No offence but what you say is bullshit since it's not the same show as 5 years ago in any way....

A tad bit hypocritical, wouldn't you say?

I mean.... Seeing as how you're bitching and crying about how I shit all over YOUR opinion..... When, in fact, it kind of started the other way around and all.........

:whistle

Ehm how about no ???

I just expressed my opinion in a normal way. If you find the word bullshit offensive than sry i don't.

And i'm not crying over it....:D holy hell

So lets consider who started to get bitchy and got on his high horse huh?

And if you don't understand me than it's your problem bu i would have thought that someone your age would have the decency to act like his age too

But i guess i was expecting too much.

Let's stop fighting because it's fucking annoying and it's useless.

Guys, get along. :) Why are people deliberately starting arguments with everyone? Not naming any names, but they've been seeing Green Day since '95 ;)
