Annie, get your gun Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I'm not thinking on anything, but I KNOW it's not a lg cover, thank god, Billie joe! Now, I don't know why is so important a cover...
Fuzz Posted June 3, 2011 Author Posted June 3, 2011 This made me think of that interview where Billie Joe said they'd like to release a song on the internet for people to learn so they could pull them up to cover the song on stage. I doubt that's what this is, but the "it's not what you think" brought my mind around to that.
**kookai** Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Is this twitter account the real tre cool ? http://twitter.com/#!/_TreCool

I don't recall hearing either of those two things. What were they from?

Not sure where Andres got that from, but mine is from an article around the time of the 1st 21st Century Breakdown Europe Tour in 2009 Green Day stopped to record a song at some studio.
Annie, get your gun Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Billie's tweets about jamming and now the coming brand new GD site makes me so excited about... you know.

Yeah, I remember they did some recordings in a studio in Glasgow in 2009! Found an article re this: http://www.clydebankpost.co.uk/news/thisweek/articles/2009/10/28/393369-green-day-in-town/
Danger! Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I say they're covering the Backstreet Boys. I think I just loved Green Day that much more! lulz. Oh Billie...
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I know the interview Andres mentioned with the wanting to release a song online, releasing an EP etc. I watched it recently but I can't find it D: It's from these series, where they did a bunch of interview in this exact set-up, but I can only find the wrong ones. It looks like these ones: one two

I seem to remember he said that in a radio interview they did in England when 21st CB first came out. Don't know what it was called though. I think he might've mentioned the idea in a couple of interviews around that time. Edit: Found it by searching for me complaining about the idea that they'd play something else instead of Knowledge . The interview: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=POUXY8G4 (from this thread) http://www.greendaycommunity.org/index.php?showtopic=68817

Florence Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Jeff Matika Tweeted I miss @BJAofficial and @mikedirnt, Let's go around the world! He misses Billie & Mike but not Tré??? EDIT: Tré doesn't have an official twitter account, so he didn't mention him. grrr btw. I've noticed that he replied to @mikedirnt - that's not the official Mike. The one mentioned on greenday.com = @dirntofficial
Hermione Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Jeff Matika Tweeted I miss @BJAofficial and @mikedirnt, Let's go around the world! Aww that's sweet! And it sounds like a good idea to me.

Punk-tastic32 Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 i think they covered a green day song Maybe they covered a FBHT or Network song. Awww! Jeff is so awesome! Am I the only one think finds it kinda cute that he @ mentioned the wrong Mike?
Marlee Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 makes me realize how long ago it's been since i've seen them on tour
Zelda Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Maybe they covered a FBHT or Network song. Awww! Jeff is so awesome! Am I the only one think finds it kinda cute that he @ mentioned the wrong Mike? I do. Someone should tell him, but he'd probably be embarrassed... And I wonder what Billie covered. They should really consider releasing more covers. I'd love to see them experiment with different genres. They have fun playing music, and they have such a wide range of influences, so why not?
