farley drexel hatcher Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I don't think he tweets to keep people interested. I think there is fine line between interesting and annoying and when he isn't working, he probably just turns off the part about talking to fans online. For the most part xD
EvanAsFuck Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 this: http://yfrog.com/h2z9fznsj got sent to my phone today as a tweet from adrienne, but she must have deleted the tweet because it doesnt show up with the rest of her tweets. Amanda Johnson is my old teacher who came to the musical with us on an NYC school trip! It wasn't in January though...
†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 It seems he's really on holiday now! He disappeared!
Tripe Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Interesting! It starts "Dear Sir or Madam, my friends and I attended American Idiot at your theatre on January..." and the comments seem to indicate it's a letter of complaint . Wish it was big enough to read! I blew it up a little and it's definitely a letter of complaint. Saying the reference to masturbation in the opening speech was "vulgar and unnecessary" and the "predominent theme of rebellion against and disrepect of parents displeased" her. Apparently, this chick felt compelled to leave the theater! Crazy stuff. Reminds me a ton of the letter BJA got from an incensed parent or grandparent or something got Dookie for their kid. Then he turned around and wrote Reject about it, haha.

Someone in the Q&A thread's managed to work out most of it: I think it says: Dear Sir or Madame, My friends and I attended American Idiot at your theatre on February 22, 2011. I was looking forward to an upbeat, high energy, and (?) show to top off a great day in New York. Instead, I was (dumbfounded?) with inexcusably, profane and disturbing scenes that left me to (shriek?). The scene where the protagonist and his girlfriend shoot up was (?)ting, and caused me to leave the auditorium. The comment about masturbation in the opening scene was vulgar and unnecessary. The (?) theme of rebellion against and disrespect for parents displeased me. It was hard enough for me to watch today;s (?) being (?) in (?), who sit around all day, do drugs, and sleep around in American Idiot. The fact that they mooch off their parents and than blame them for their (?) (?) (?) is the last straw. Let me remind you that the (maturity?) of your audience is (?), (?), and (?)ed. (Why?) and provide us with some (?) decent entertainment? In conclusion, American Idiot does not live up to the (?) of a Grammy Musical (?) (?) (?) (?) (characteristic?) of Green Day's music. I am (regretting?) my (?) (time?). Sincerely Amanda Johnson
-Billiejoezee- Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Haha me too! It's very similar. Someone in the Q&A thread's managed to work out most of it: reject all over again!
idc Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 By "Ok last tweet." ... did he literally mean LAST tweet?
whatshername0303 Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 By "Ok last tweet." ... did he literally mean LAST tweet? I think that no one really know...maybe he will come back one day?(I hope so! )
Guest Honey Emerald Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 I think Billie Joe Armstrong was a man of his word when he said "last tweet".
Katarina. Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 By "Ok last tweet." ... did he literally mean LAST tweet? I don't know. You should ask Billie in a tweet. Maybe he'll reply with a good answer..
Mar Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 I don't think Billie would've taken it upon himself to set up a twitter just to keep people interested in the musical. But it wouldn't suprise me if someone suggested to him to get a twitter with that in mind. The way his Green Day tweets ended so abruptly at the end of the tour makes me think someone was probably reminding/nagging him to do it then. Dunno if it's the same this time though, even if that was the original thought behind him getting a twitter it doesn't mean he wasn't using for his own enjoyment once he got one - I think it's clear that he was either way. This is how I feel, too.
in_your_face Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Shit. He meant it. It was his last tweet. I'm glad i retweeted it that day.
Bulletproof Heart Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Haha that letter is insane. I have a feeling only some of the American audience would feel offended/horrified or whatever by American Idiot, they're so touchy
jos_whatsername Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 so.. did billlie unlearn how to use twitter or what? i miss the factoids and multiple tweets during one hour . good times..
Metanoia Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Josy you just made me think Billie tweeted again meh. However, maybe he's just taking some break after all the AI Musical stress and probably he will tweet again when AAF is about to come out and all.
veroPasalacqua Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 It might be possible, that he will tweet, when he is on broadway again. The three weeks ... Well, I think so.
Metanoia Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Again, I'm pretty sure he will also tweet something when AAF is about to come out.
Hermione Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 ^ I hope so! I just searched @BJAofficial for fun and this is one of the tweets that came up @BJAofficial we need to have a serious conversation. WHY THE FUCK you follow lady shit gaga and dont fucking follow your WIFE? ill kill you I really hope the reason he stopped isn't because of shit like that. Going on there and reading things like that wouldn't exactly encourage you to want to keep using it. He most probably just had enough of tweeting for a while of course haha, but I seriously can't believe the stupid crap people say to him.
Metanoia Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Maybe his dog ate his phone again and he can't afford a new one.
