My band was jamming when my friend's mom walked in during Longview, I was air-ejaculating when it said 'when masturbation's lost it's fun'. Whatta milf!

Haha that's great, I love Longview at innapropriate times! Reminds me of when my band was messing around and talking about Bob Dylan and my friend sang, "Everybody must get stoned", as my dad walked into the garage. :P

... but my favorite has to be the line "the world owes me so fuck you". XD

Ditto! -hi five-

they aren't typically funny songs but ha ha your dead lyrics amuse me, same with warning.

The beginning to Blood, Sex, and Booze.

 It never get's old.

I love the Judge's Daughter part that a few people quoted, and I love the start of Andriod:

"Hey old man in woman's shoes, I wonder if he know's I think he's crazy?

When he was young did he have dreams of wearing woman's shoes and being crazy?"

 It gets me everytime.

ha ha you're dead always makes me laugh: "you were an asshole, and now you're gone!" and of course dominated love slave (especially the random little things in the background). really all of the Tre songs, they never fail to make me smile.

edit: I forgot about the "I think I'm gonna pop" line, I've always thought that was really random

“When masturbation’s lost it’s fun and your fucking lonely” Silly Billie

The wife's a nag and the kid's fucking up.

I don't have sex `cause i can't get it up. - The Grouch

When I first heard that song I had no idea what on earth he was singing, and when he says "plans" it sounds like "glans"

I have to say... King for A Day makes me laugh, and cause I'm just so immature, the horns make me laugh

The entire Pulling Teeth is hilarious to me!!! (but poor Mikey...)

And also I love the part of 'Sick of Me' when he sings:

"-So you have your problems,

So you got it alright,

Do you have a conscience?

Do you have a reason?

Well, I'm sick of you too!!! "

  The whole song is very funny!!

Songs that are just funny are King For A Day, Ha Ha You're Dead, Pulling Teeth, The Grouch, FOD sometimes, parts of Nice Guys Finish Last, and basically all of Tre's songs (BILLIE JOE'S MOM!).

To name a few.

But what I love about Green Day is their wit and dark humour, not just their Kingforadayesque humor.

There's a lot of it in American Idiot and 21st CB. I can't think of any examples right now, though :pinch:

And I love how they twist other songs and stuff:

Minority - 'I pledge allegiance to the underworld. One nation under dog, there of which I stand alone.' A play on the pledge of allegiance.

21st Century Breakdown - 'I was once was lost but never was found' from Amazing Grace, and

'Oh dream America dream, I can't even see from the light's early dawn.' The Star-Spangled Banner.

THey are wise men indeed, we have much to learn from them. :sherlock: You point out some great quotes.

 Platypus, i know its supposed to be a hateful song, but given the name, I think its meant to have its funny side

Also, it is not from a certain song, but in the video for Nice Guys Finish Last, at the very end when Tre picks up the table and smashes it, I laugh every time!

Ha Ha You're Dead

and

At your funeral

Things will be different

I will feel so good

I'll pass out cigars

Bring a big ol' cake

And a keg, yes!

I can hardly, I can hardly wait

^ PHGP. But it's still funny ;P

'The world owes me so fuck you' always cracks me up.

And in Platpus (I Hate You)

'dickhead, fuckface, cock-smoking, motherfucking arsehole, dirty twat, waste of semen, hope you die, HEY'

The 'hey' at the end makes me laugh too hard.

My favourite line has to be

"Wake up, the house is on fire, and the cat's caught in the dryer!" from Deadbeat Holiday. Just can't help picturing this whenever I hear it

Although it's an extremely depressing song, when you listen to the rest of the lyrics. That's indeed what is so fucking amazing about Green Day, they're masters at combining pretty damn deep lyrics with the most cheerful melodies. So when I hear people criticizing them, I always think they should just take some time to listen to their songs more closely and only thén they'll have the right to speak.
