St. Banana Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Not sure why anyone would bother to make this up though Last year or maybe it was early this year there was this guy saying he worked for Green Day and he put so much effort into making it believable. He provided all these explanations and told us stuff the band was saying and it went on for quite a while...until it just became apparent that he was a low life fake. Anywayy my point is, there are a load of people out there that would bother to make things like this up just for the hell of it. :/

I didn't see that thread until it was closed, I started reading it and right from his first post it was SO obviously fake . The things he was saying the band was supposed to have said didn't sound ANYTHING like anything they'd say and there were so many factual errors about the band/songs, it was ridiculous. I couldn't believe anyone fell for it and I wished I'd been on here when he made the thread so I could've told him to gtfo But yeah you're right of course, there's a lot of trolls out there. It's just in the case of that guy last year, he kept on posting in/reading the thread, getting a good laugh out of trolling it I'd imagine. Whereas this time this person's pretty much just politely made the thread and left. I can't really see what amusement he could've got out of doing that, that's why it seems weird to me.

Afterwards I was like, 'wtf why did I believe that'. and your second point, that's kinda why I'm also a bit eh on immediately stamping it a troll. There's no fun in making at thread and then never looking back at the reactions. Although on the other side, everything points to fake.

Always thinking positively! Either way, whether it just didn't happen or he was a fake, it was a fun idea and pretty exciting for awhile.

It's just been too long. It's just weird that he said to someone here, that the interview would be up in the site he worked etc etc... So, if he didn't make it, he's really lying about it, not embarrassed to face us. He seemed like such a nice guy. oh well

On one hand it doesn't seem like he was a fake because all he did was basically make the thread and leave and he was very polite. He seemed genuinely nice and I could understand him being too embarrassed to tell us the interview got cancelled/didn't happen for whatever reason if that's what happened. But on the other hand it's pretty weird he didn't tell us who he was or what magazine/site he was doing the interview for right from the start... Doesn't really matter which it is though. Either way we still don't get the interview

But then I don't get why that person doesn't come over here to say the interview didn't happen. Now we're all hoping for info, and maybe an update from that user saying the interview has been posted in a magazine or whatever, while there is a possibility the guys weren't interviewed at all..

Maybe sometime someone will have an interview with Green Day, and that someone will use our questions ((or maybe this guy is really lazy and hasn't write the introduction to the interview and all that))
